So I'm slowly syncing some repositories on tethered sprint 4g from my gnex. When its finished I will hopefully be able to build something and add a bit more flavor to this nook HD section.
My question is, when building for this device are there any special precautions I need to take? Using an AOSP supported device for the last year has been so easy. Any tips will be much appreciated

Well...
gcc4.4.3 it is then, problem solved lol
Got the build to compete, which boot looped. However it was enough to be able to patch together a working beta for now

Or, as my lady prefers her pretty little hummingbird to look
Oh man... Quality of that screenshot got botched, thanks xda
My only source of internet connection is currently crap, no hope of uploading anything on Sprint 3g.
But so far, the only bug I've noticed that isn't apparent in verygreen's cm10.1 build is that brightness goes to max on screen rotation, otherwise it's all good to go.

I dunno of anyone saw this yesterday or not by DJ_Steve. It seems our awesome and only streak Dev has gotten hardware acceleration in HC to work on the notion ink tab!
You guys are wondering how this is relevant to us streak7 users right?
Well in the details it says the rom he made for the notion ink tab as been ported to the streak7!!!!
I don't see a link for it from the site link on the video upload, but if anyone knows about it or happens to have the rom, I'm sure we would all love to test it out!

we all know already he post to his twitter if he doesnt post here and this is not development so you would need to have a mod move to general the development is mainly used for releases
Yes. Need to port the s7 kernel too 2.6.36. And possible have the touch driver modified. Ask around only thing holding it back atm

from what i read no hardware acceleration issues any more
I stand corrected sir. I miss read

Sorry for the error in where I posted this. I don't use twitter anymore so this was new to me until yesterday since I follow his YouTube channel.
Ill get this moved into the general forum. Since the development area is used for rom releases anyway? where is it?
Hellzya hate to act like a forum noob but could u help me out in the link for HC port? I know you are Dj_Steve's tester for his releases so Id like to try it out.

this is great news. i've had my streak 7 collecting dust in a corner because I refused to use it on froyo. can't wait to see this thing run HC.

Honeycomb's going to be awesome, but let's not kid ourselves into believing this thing is a slouch with FroYo and DJ_Steve's ROM. If you have another, HC tablet, though, I could see your point.
This is my only tablet. For the price and specs, it couldn't be beaten regardless of what rom it's using. And it's definitely going to be something else when a ported version of hc comes out. I'm sure that's something we can all agree on (at least after it becomes stable lol)

I'm sure HC is going to be great, but I have no problems with Froyo; it does everything I need from a tablet. The battery remains as the biggest issue for me.

I honestly have not used this tablet enough to actually complain about it's battery life but that will come soon since I plan on using this a lot more this summer so I guess add me to the general consensus.

I don't think the ds7 will have HC, no enough devs to make it happen.

Hey guys don't know much if its possible to port Ubuntu to our device ? Here is a link from Ubuntu https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda premium
And the firefox os too, although I dont think that ones out yet.
If an unlocked bootloader isn't necessary, it can be done I presume
Sent from my Atrix HD using Tapatalk app
Yeah but most likely we might be able to port it to our device as seen in other forums they were able to flash Ubuntu touch through Safestrap 3 recovery
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda premium
It's based on CM 10.1 so not until that works, I would assume.

Bump? Since now our BL is unlocked and the cm are going well.
Re: Anyone porting Ubuntu touch for atrix hd ?

Haha nice!
I actually got the itch to try it today and flashed the razor hd one to my Atrix HD. Phone does not connect to cell towers and wifi does not work. Though it does boot up and I can play around. :highfive:
Yeah just hope it f**in works

Could you give a link to this? I cannot find it.
Nevermind. I found it. And for being alpha/beta, it is absolutely wonderful.

Glad you found it. I was pretty impressed as well. Would be sweet to get data working on it.
I'm guessing you had the same issues I did?
Yeah. It only lagged when I had a bunch of apps open too.

LOL, you must not be looking in the right place.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/xt926
In a nutshell:
flash this in CWM
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-to.../current/saucy-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip
and this:
http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/xt926/phablet
Due to missing files, its not really a flash you would be able to use as a phone...but if you are heart set on seeing how the ubuntu touch os feels, go for it...
I am actually doing my first build with the necessary files to get everything working right now... Goal is mainly to just get radio working so I can actually use this OS as a phone. I have copious notes, so if things don't work, there were steps I skipped due to my lack of knowledge and they caused issues....So I should be able to slowly find answers and get a radio working build in time...
Will update later after this build is done and I try flashing it. Answer will probably be, did not work, but I'm trying! :good:
It did not work, though I had some good discussion on fixing the things I need to...
I'll keep working on it and post in the dev section when I have something that is working.
Booted up the build a few posts above and it's pretty damn nice!! Once everything gets won't which I'm sure it will eventually I'm definitely gonna give it a go

FTFY
Been running hashcodes build for a few weeks now
Its fun to mess around with. Battery drains pretty quick. WiFi works so that's probably why.
If anyone installs they should wipe system and factory reset before flashing.
Flash the Ubuntu phablet zip first and Hashcodes build second.

Just curious if development for this device has been lost for our lowly 8.9 LTE? I know we never had any serious effort but I would love to have a good rom to run on this device. I ran the Danno Rom for a short while but had to go back to stock due to issues I can't remember now. This really is a perfect form factor device just need some Dev love for it. Come on guys this should be interesting because it is a challenge to find the right stuff to make things work on this device.
Orlando what say you? Have you moved on to a new device? Still using the I-957?

This whole forum is basically dead. But I too world love to see some new development. If only I was smart enough and had the patience and time I might try to learn. But I'm lacking the smarts and patience.

I have to say i am pretty happy with dan-htc's AOKP Jellybean build. Never expected a lot with this tab, considering my Note2 basically doubles processing and RAM. I'm just happy not to be stuck on Stock TW for my Internet browsing and reading lol.

It should be very easy to get the newest aokp build for this tab. It's above me but it's out for the skyrocket which is basically the same thing

We are doomed, I think we are better off selling this tablet and getting the international version that seems to have a lit more of support and many roms updated to choose from...

Hi All, bit of a random question but I'm considering getting a Nook HD+ in exchange for my Asus Transformer tf101 which I've had for a little while now. My plan had been to make sure whatever I got next was an officially supported Cyanogen device or at least has a decent level of developer support as I've had bad luck with companies giving up on their devices just after I buy them.
Is the HD+ official? Worth the swap?
I think i could pritty much do a straight swap money wise and I've loved my Nook Simple touch (rooted of course!)
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk HD
The is no "official" ROM/support from Cyanogen for the HD/HD+.
Ah okay so it's just for the colour and nook tablet then?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk HD
Indeed, yes. There is however unofficial support for CyanogenMod here at XDA for the Nook HD and HD+.
To find out the full list of officially supported CyanogenMod devices; check out CyanogenMod's site: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/index.php?title=Devices# (you may need to click "show all devices" besides the filter).
Regardless, even those devices which are officially supported - not all of them are updated to the latest version of CM. For example, the HTC Wildfire is still stuck on CM7 and I doubt it maybe updated to CM10.1.
I will add though that running CM10 on my HD+ emmc is running flawlessly for me, and I consider it more than worth my upgrade from the Color. I don't know why it couldn't be an official release with the solidity of it. I don't really know Cyanogenmod's procedures and determining factors there.

Thanks for the responses guys. Think I'll have to look seriously at making the switch.

So I know that there have been a couple threads discussing Ubuntu Touch, but I haven't seen anything as of recent. Is anyone interested in it still? I've played around with the RAZR HD port of it (which has no internet and such) and was wondering if maybe there would be some way to get it fully working? I'm not big into development, but this seems like a really great OS and i , as well as quite a few others I'm sure, would love to see it happen on the AHD.
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
,It's still under heavy development. The Canonical Desktop searches s commercial websites by default. If their mobile offering does too, I want nothing to do with it. That aside, I'm quite pleased with CyanogenMod 's M1 snapshot. My Atrix HD Maxx has never been better.
