What do you guys think? Been looking at it and just tablets in general. Seems as though all the honeycomb tablets have pretty much the same hardware. What are your opinions on it and any owners that know something I should know please tell me

Go for it specs wise plus its price I think it's good. But if money isn't a problem then go for the 10.1 galaxy tab.

I don't know anything about the transformer, but I do like Asus laptops.
Transformer is a very solid unit. Good screen, nice and quick, well-built.
If you get one, definitely consider the keyboard dock also. It really makes extended use (especially browsing XDA for hours on end) much more pleasant.
There are a couple of units available in the marketplace at good prices, Donharden has a great 16GB unit. Check them out!
Good luck!
Go for it, best at it's hardward range Tegra 2, compare to Thrive and Iconia..Gtab.
It's thinner and well built. I had played with it and others side by side at office depot. The Tf101 hands down.
Thanks for the input guys, I want to go down to best buy and compare still though, I hate how demo units are always all messed up and slowed down from all the things people do to them. It really makes it hard to judge.

I'm a bit biased on this (posting via my transformer now). Lol i highly recommend this tablet though, mine is rooted and is just amazing. No issues or quirks and i've had it for bout a month or so. I've made due without a keyboard dock thus far but a am looking into getting one soon.

Thanks! Just wondering though, are you running 3.0 or 3.1? Also are you overclocking it?

Currently running roachs Prime v1.5, which is 3.1 and waiting for v1.6 which will most likely be 3.2.

I was really fired up about getting my N7. I got it, rooted it, flashed it, bricked it, fixed it, flashed it, and then loaded it with all of the best games and every emulator… 2 days later I’m now bored and have no use for it no more than my android phone… I might try running a virtual PC but…I’m a little sad I lost interest this quickly. What is everyone else using their tablets for that keeps them from collecting dust?
I use mine all the time for gaming, Web browsing, splash top, wifi remote control, browsing forums, news, entertaining my 2 year old, navigation, banking and managing all my rss download feeds on u torrent, I am sure there is more I do I am not thinking of too
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
If you truly loaded up the tablet with the best games you would still be playing them and wouldn't be bored after 2 days.
u could always get a comic book or ebook reader and read some stuff idk.
I bought mine primarily to replace my older Kindle so I could get books and magazines with photos that the Kindle sucks at. I like playing Angry Birds on it, but do that mostly on my phone. I also fly my AR Drone with it. I didn't buy it to be using it all day.

Almost 5000 posts since April? No wonder you can't find life.
I just keep trying the different emulators now for gaming but i dont spend a lot of time with the tablet in my hand at all
For me it's mostly the form factor. Browsing the web, reading text, etc. is very, very nice on a 7" screen and many games just look better and play better as well. Plus I love the fact that I can install Ubuntu naively on it and basically use it as a laptop replacement if I need to.

I actually expected that to happen with me. It didn't. My 7 pretty much replaced my laptop and took half the load off my phone. I never thought I'd like a tablet but ended up pleasantly surprised.

I use mine for the same reasons others have posted here, but I also have been tinkering with integrating my nexus into my (rather crude) home automation system driven by arduino. With an arduino, tasker, a bit of tinkering and programming, I'm able to open/close my garage door and control my lights with tasker using voice commands or tasker widgets on my home screen.
I have been an iPhone and ipad guy since they came out years ago and recently switched all of my devices over to nexus ones and can't be happier with the openness. When I do get a bit bored with it, I try to come up with an idea to use my nexus to make my life easier and hopefully learn something new along the way.
Good luck with your quest. And by the way, if any one is interested, I can probably throw up a tutorial describing how I achieved this.

Perish the thought.
As far as I'm concerned my phone is for when I leave the house, while my tablet is for everything else. If you're bored, then it's not the fault of the device, it just means that you don't have enough interesting content on it.

I have a nexus 7, it has a good purpose.
My computers purpose is to run high end software such as 3ds max and the adobe design suite, as well as a bunch of games.
My laptops purpose is to sit in my room until i buy it a new power cord, then its purpose is to be sold, or something...
My phones purpose is to text and call people, and when i dont have my tablet on me its so i can play games and sketch.
My tablets purpose is so i can browse the web, read books, play games i dont on the computer, and to be a digital sketchpad until i can afford a medium intuos 5.
Bored with your tablet? Find a purpose for it such as netflix, reading books, sketching, incessantly flashing software until you break it, etc.

Yeah but most likely we might be able to port it to our device as seen in other forums they were able to flash Ubuntu touch through Safestrap 3 recovery

It's based on CM 10.1 so not until that works, I would assume.

LOL, you must not be looking in the right place.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/xt926
In a nutshell:
flash this in CWM
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-to.../current/saucy-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip
and this:
http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/xt926/phablet
Due to missing files, its not really a flash you would be able to use as a phone...but if you are heart set on seeing how the ubuntu touch os feels, go for it...
I am actually doing my first build with the necessary files to get everything working right now... Goal is mainly to just get radio working so I can actually use this OS as a phone. I have copious notes, so if things don't work, there were steps I skipped due to my lack of knowledge and they caused issues....So I should be able to slowly find answers and get a radio working build in time...
Will update later after this build is done and I try flashing it. Answer will probably be, did not work, but I'm trying! :good:
It did not work, though I had some good discussion on fixing the things I need to...
I'll keep working on it and post in the dev section when I have something that is working.
Booted up the build a few posts above and it's pretty damn nice!! Once everything gets won't which I'm sure it will eventually I'm definitely gonna give it a go

FTFY
Been running hashcodes build for a few weeks now
Its fun to mess around with. Battery drains pretty quick. WiFi works so that's probably why.
If anyone installs they should wipe system and factory reset before flashing.
Flash the Ubuntu phablet zip first and Hashcodes build second.

Which phone is a better value to me? I need a stop gap phone until the Note 3 or some next gen phone.
The nexus 4:
Better SoC quad core s4 pro
Android 4.2.2
Better build quality
But dunno about the development their at the atrix hd

I prefer the build quality of the Atrix 10 fold. The nexus feels cheap and plasticy. And we have a steady stream of 4.2 roms coming now.

For now it is, once our devs get that 3.4 kernel working we'll be able to have all the roms the N4 has with little issues. As is we already almost can. Between us, RAZR, and Photon Q, there is only a small handful of devs and kangers.
Our biggest problem is no one stays long enough before they jump ship. I'll be here for the next year and a half minimum so there ya go (upgraded contract and received AHD in March). Even if I were to get a new phone I'd still keep up with PAC for us cause I'd use my AHD as a portable game system/mp3 player -- I plan on getting one of these in the next month (have to finish up this job we're on so I have the $$$). I should probably get a MAXX battery as well.
I'd go N4

Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
N4 has good build quality IMHO. Very luxury feeling. Just the glass back will get micro scratches all over it from minimal use and it will shatter with the slightest bit of a drop.

I think he meant where is this steady stream of ROMs lol and I have to say In wouldn't get an atrix again if I could do it over , the battery life if horrible and for it being dual core and a gig of ram its slower then my Samsung focus but this is my first android device and I'm beginning to figure out how to properly use the OS.Just my two cents .

Especially now that I'm pretty much doing nightlies....sometime 2 PAC's a day. I plan on getting AOKP set up for possibly Youngunn2008 to start doing builds for us (its hard to do more than one rom and give both the time they deserve). We have CM10.1, PAC, Carbon, all from source, AOKP to come, PA Ports from Echo (will be source eventually). We've been unlocked for such a short time and our devs have made tons of progress. Give it a bit more time and I believe we'll soon have an epic phone. Kinks just gotta get unkinked.

I was going to pick up a Nexus 4 today. Held one in my hand and loved the look and feel of the device. But I realized that my Atrix HD was still a great phone that full filled my needs perfectly. My question is, when building for this device are there any special precautions I need to take? Using an AOSP supported device for the last year has been so easy. Any tips will be much appreciated

My only source of internet connection is currently crap, no hope of uploading anything on Sprint 3g.
But so far, the only bug I've noticed that isn't apparent in verygreen's cm10.1 build is that brightness goes to max on screen rotation, otherwise it's all good to go.
