Battery on my galaxy s3lte sucks - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

I recently bought my s3 new and i'm disappointed in the batterylife.
Yesterday I fully charged my fone before i went to work and put it unused in my pocket and by break time more then 68% of my battery was gone i had only 32% left of battery life.

I Had the same issue with mine. Couldn't find anything causing the drain. In the end I got the samsung 3000mah battery and cover. A little bit thicker and heavier but man does the battery last way longer

Same here can't find the root of the problem
Got a external charger...

My battery life sucked till I installed boeflla v12.7a beta. I used to run out of battery each day with every other kernel I tried.
I'm now on v12 stable and battery life is still great. I have undervolted cpu and gpu by 0.25v and using pegasusq moderate governor.

Battery power for LG Optimus 2x

Hello all!
I am new to the forum so I hope make it without any errors.
I bought the Optimus 2x cellphone last week whith the hope of getting the good one (the one without freezes and black screens) fortunately the cell worked very nicely. I updated to gingerbread and I feel it very good. But I have the good known problem of battery consumption.
Now I have a battery related question. After the update I charged the phone and get the battery indicator stuck at 100% I rooted the phone, installed Battery Calibration and calibrated the phone (left the battery to reach 0% then fully charged to 100% hit calibrate and left the telephone fully discharge again)
The issue is that when the thelephone was at 100% the voltage indicator of the battery calibration was in 4100 mV and here comes the weird thing. When reached 0% the voltage indicator was saying 2000mV.
My question is if this values are right. Someone with good battery duration and the Battery calibration installed could tell me the correct values? I thought that the phone shut down when battery was down to 0 mV but maybe the problem is that my battery is just using "half" battery.
Sorry for my english. I am not native english speaker.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
That is voltage, 3300mv = 3.3 volts.
Fully charged the battery would be at 4180mv, fully discharged is around 3200mv usually, or a bit higher.
The phone shuts off when the battery gets below the usable range, which I believe is slightly above 3000mv.
So yes a range of 3.3 to 4.2 volts is perfectly normal for a 3.7v battery.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. So I think I should get used to it. My battery doesnt last more than 12 hours of my regular use. A some internet browsing and some messaging. No music, videos, or games.
Someone recommends the extended batteries of 3500 mAh for this phone? That will make the phone last more time?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Reaper511989, I have bought an extended battery from HERE. It is fatter, but not ugly. And the battery lasts a lot longer. I use it when I'm travelling. I have no idea where in the world you are, but the battery was from a company in the UK.
Have fun. Anil
Huge Battery drain on DjangoManouche/Guestekrnl
Hi,
I was on CM7 kang of temasek and I decided to flash a stockbased rom.
Now I'm on :
DjangoManouche 1.2 rom
Guestekrnl V1.6.1
BB V20Q with ril
I am using Go launcher which comes with the rom
The battery drain is incredibly huge, 8 hours tops with very little use
Anybody some ideas ?
your lucky. i get 6. if im playing 3 albums of mp3's during work. nothing on. just 2g.
imagine if i turned on gps, wireless,bt 3g/4g ahhhh . (cant use fone how its sposed to be used) have ot turn it DOWN a notch. its to HUNGRY on juice. seriously lookin @ one of those MUGEN batteries.
6 hours is just wrong... in the most intense usage you should get 2 hours of screen ON time.. Wifi with 2g on trolling forums with browser/tapatalk should be 4 hrs.

Well in that case you might wanna repair your device since you seem to have the same issue with all roms. That should not be the case that it uses the same amount of battery without using it, especially if no app is loading the cpu....

well actually. cm7 i got about 5-6 hours batt life, cm9 i got no more than 8, GB (stock rom) can usually go from 5-8 hours. but with no bugs. so i am back on GB.
so i dont think device is broken/dodgy since the batt life fluctuates a little. depending on the rom.
my main issue is, ive been reading about ppl using froyo and going to GB and having mass battery drain. now im thinking about going to froyo.

What apps do you have installed/are you using?
well according to the voltage you either have it over clock or you need to turn the voltage down. and you should check what cpu governer its set too. by the looks of thing it spends most of it time at idle so its problably set to performance, so set it to ondemand
Im facing this when i connected to the wifi.
I over clocked my ram using devil kernel.. governor was on lulzactive
i changed it to ondemand
Now its normal (no over clocked anything) but still wen i use hostpot it goes to 45°

Then it just might be ur battery.. if u need a good replacement battery, i suggest to order a PolarCell 1800 mAh battery from ebay for 12.90 euros including shipping, took about a week till it dropped in my mailbox

A fully charged battery is around 4200mV i actually get that same amount when fully charged(4196mV) just hit the calibration button and use ur phone normally til 1-10% and charge again and see if it goes up to 100% if it doesnt, i think u just have to live with it.. i had that same problem some months back and just lived with it cause it didnt really bother me. Nowadays it charges to 100%, i recon i didnt do anything special to make it work so maybe urs will start to work with time
Oh..i see,i make a research thru net and found out the battery power for normal user would be 1500 mah and the other hand for advance user they would get a 3500 mah batt power. So should i choose to change it?Usually i do work with my phone so it is botherin me tho.I charge my phone for atleast 4 hours to see how the power would drain the batt without having a wifi/bt and some other bg process,I was shock when after i plug out the charger my batt drain 1% after 1% within a second! How fast is that??!My Galaxy W didn't face the same tho..This is some kinda magic or what?!..It is so irritating me..

Yeah, i use my mobile data on my laptop and the battery drains fast with wifi hotspot on, i always have it plugged in a charger when using it as the network for my laptop otherwise the battery drain is just crazy.. u could buy a 3500mAh battery but ur phone will turn into a hideous brick! cause the battery is so big, thats why i bought the PolarCell battery , its the same size than stock but 300mAh more battery charge. But if u use ur phone alot and ur not satisfied on the juice u get out of a smaller battery , i think the 3500mAh is the way to go
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51DFBIUCaxL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
As u can see, u will need a new back cover(that usually comes with the battery 3500mAh) since the batteries physical size is double the size of a stock one

Btw, dont just go out and buy any battery on ebay, theres plenty of fake ones e.g "4000 mAh" battery could really be a 1500 mAh one..
I cant recommend u a good over 1800 mAh batteries since ive never used one myself.. but ive read that Momax and Mugen batteries are good.

[Q] Dead Battery?

I'm pretty sure my stock battery has died after just over a year of usage. However I just wanted to check with you guys whether it's actually flat or if my phone is faulty. The battery will last about a day with minimum usage, but if I turn on wifi or data it will literally die in a matter of minutes? This is the same with every rom and I wipe battery stats. So would buying a new battery solve the problem?

Is the shape of your battery regular??
If not, change your battery not rom.
Note:due to overcharging, shape of battery may change, happened with me.
Minimum usage would drain battery so fast to 0%.

Your battery has been heavily used. It's life is over. These are the symptoms of a nearly-dying battery. When you replace with a new battery your phone will function like normal again.

Those people with over a day of battery life just leave there phone on standby with light use. I use my phone frequently, WiFi and GPS. I get about 12 hours battery. On cm10.1 ROM.
Yes battery cal software dont do nothing if u have a lithium battery. On old ni battery's in theory calibration works.
Another problem could be your battery is on its way out.

[Q] Battery Swelling

Recently I noticed my battery has swelled up and when It's on 20%, my phone turns off automatically. After turning it on, battery level show 2%
My original battery is just working one year. If i buy new battery, what should i do to prevent battery swelling up again?
1- Is it related to my custom ROM?
2-Is flashing just system of my ROM will help?
BTW I had installed some IO schedular apps such as seeder and auto killer memory optimizer.

Why MOMAX 1700? Is it better than its original samsung battery?
To be honest, i had used both simultaneously and they were both equally great.
My I9001 came with an 1650mah battery and the momax was 1700mah. the battery drain was almost similar, never had issues with it, for almost 2 years i've used the battery and it still works fine.
