Hey guys I've done some googling to no avail.. Is there a way to tell if my particular device has the Nokia mic or not? Or are they all still Nokia at this point? Thanks!
sent from the $#!++/ xda app
I believe right now they are all still Nokia mics.
Really? I heard read that they switched em out for some crappy ones or something. Lemme see if I can find the thread.
EDIT: All right. Not sure if I'm right but I think only the Netherlands are affected... or something...
Anyone know how to confirm this?

They're not "Nokia" mics though lol

Right, they are not made by Nokia, and they were not replaced with "crappy" ones. Just changed them for a different setup that doesn't violate Nokia's patent.

You know what I found funny? They were supposed to support the EVO 4G LTE at some point, and never did. I could never get it to show up in a search from the Market. But now, I searched for it with the HTC One, and there it is. And I can download it, but can't use it. It says it's unsupported. I really wish I could have this back.
I'd like to play with this, but I'll probably never actually use it. I don't know other Sprint users with or who would have direct connect. It's unfortunate Sprint has made this feature so exclusive that it's basically killed the feature.
It's made it exclusive to the **** phones they sell. Should be available for the high-end phones as well.
Hey guys,
I've been having weird issues with my SMS, and I had these problems about halfway through having my EVO 4G LTE. In SMS, some characters, such as _, @, &, and others of this type aren't showing up. They're replaced with a space on received messages. I can see them on sent messages, but the receivers say they arrive as boxes. I also have this issue with emojis. Is this a Sprint problem since it's been a problem with two different phones I've had? And how should I fix this?
Nope..just sent these characters you mentioned to my wifes S3 and another to my friends Evo LTE..They dont show up as boxes..The problem may be on your friends end possibly using a 3rd party messaging client because it's working over here.

It definitely isn't that. I've received messages from many different clients and they never work. Maybe my services with Sprint need to be refreshed our something?
Another thing, the symbols work in Google Voice...

If its been an on going thing between multiple phones i'd see if it could possibly be a problem on sprints end..All I can tell you is the people i've tested with are not receiving boxes..My wife actually thought I was going crazy sending a bunch of random symbols and underscores

Well I'll have to try contacting Sprint today and seeing what they have to say about it, then. I'll report back later.

The people you send or receive these characters, are they also with Sprint or do they have other providers?
Both Sprint and other providers. I have issues with my step brother who is in the same plan as I, and I have issues with my mom who is on AT&T.

What about signatures, any of you use them? If not, give Sprint a call, have them check your line.

No signatures. I'm on the phone with Sprint right now.
Youre not using your HTC One, are you? Good luck then.

Calling from my house phone if that's what you mean.
Disabling Google Voice Sprint integration fixed the issue. Kind of an odd fix, but maybe this will help someone else.
quick reply is needed!!! just saying

Oh God. Google needs to fix that. I've on many occasions had to disable Google voice due to missed calls and other issues.

I completely agree. I had a previous instance (about two years ago) where calls just wouldn't come through, and texts would come really late unless through their app. I had to disable it then, too. I like Google Voice a lot, but it's so buggy.
Just confirming, I sent above characters to 15 recipients and all received them in readable form. I also could see them when sent back to me.
Anyone tempted? I love my one and the only upgrade you get is more megapixels and a fastest CPU but not by much? Stock android I guess by recent cm builds have been rock solid for me. I'm still considering it though nevertheless lol. Other peoples thoughts? Also phandroid confirmed that sprint let out a statement regarding this activation.

I believe you would need to order a SIM card for lte connectivity. They don't have them in brick and mortar stores

Cant you just remove the one from the ONE and insert into the Nexus 5?
I think you can put a sim in it from your One.
What I want to know is if you get one from tmo, will it work on sprint? If I put a sim in it...?

Long story short...
I have an Att HTC ONE M7 (black) that was jtaged and won't let me unlock or use any SIM card. (Security check to modem , need a patch to bypass the check) So tired of trying to find a fix.
I also have a Sprint HTC ONE M7** variant. Completely worthless Sprint pile of sh_t! and tried to unlock to gsm about to go outside and run over it with my lawnmower!
So can I use the daughter board(AT&T) and motherboard(Sprint)
They are both snapdragon 600 1.7 ghz
Exact same thing. I'm gonna research it but if it's possible I'm going for it..
Unless my problem is in the daughterboard(AT&T) thats causing my problem. Thoughts?

Fairly certain the radio chips are soldered onto the board. Considering the two carriers use completely different radios, I'd still bet no.
Actually your 50% correct...
The modem die is in the motherboard
the antenna etc; is in the daughterboard.
Physical antenna is actually in the back cover sorta

Personally I don't know about Verizon, but I know that it seems to be completely disabled with Sprint.
So my guess is that it is pretty much disabled with most of the carriers, because the Nexus 6 is not really a Carrier Phone.
Again, just my theory.
no, there isnt a capability for it. there should be, but it wasnt.

Just over a year ago, @danarama asked Motorola about the FM Radio. The response they provided in his post sums it up succinctly. There is no FM radio hardware on the Nexus 6, thus no FM radio to activate.

Good info.
So it's not possible. Your closest bet is the app "iHeartRadio" but obviously that eats your data
