Long story short...
I have an Att HTC ONE M7 (black) that was jtaged and won't let me unlock or use any SIM card. (Security check to modem , need a patch to bypass the check) So tired of trying to find a fix.
I also have a Sprint HTC ONE M7** variant. Completely worthless Sprint pile of sh_t! and tried to unlock to gsm about to go outside and run over it with my lawnmower!
So can I use the daughter board(AT&T) and motherboard(Sprint)
They are both snapdragon 600 1.7 ghz
Exact same thing. I'm gonna research it but if it's possible I'm going for it..
Unless my problem is in the daughterboard(AT&T) thats causing my problem. Thoughts?

Fairly certain the radio chips are soldered onto the board. Considering the two carriers use completely different radios, I'd still bet no.
Actually your 50% correct...
The modem die is in the motherboard
the antenna etc; is in the daughterboard.
Physical antenna is actually in the back cover sorta

Hey I have a sprint HTC One and im wondering if i trim my sim card and put it on a Sprint iPhone 5 would it work ? If it does can someone tell me.. I just want to swap phones whenever i want too
You have to call sprint in order to swap phones. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the SIM card is only for international uses. Not Sprint to Sprint

I don't think it works like that on sprint see the sim card is just to get on lte. I remember when I got my replacement HTC one the sim card stayed the same but in the system sprint said it didn't match the one they had on record so my phone wasn't connecting to LTE. After a quick call and putting the right numbers in I got LTE. So you would still need the phone to be active which involves calling sprint to do the swap

Yes. The phone uses the sim card to connect to LTE. That's the only reason it is there. Your phone number isn't attached to it like GSM. So swapping the sim card won't do anything.

Pretty sure I know a thing or two. I mean you can trim it down and stuff it in a different phone but that's not going to swap your phone number to that phone.

Sprint has a policy of switching costumers to a different device after 3 exchanges. I'm waiting for my 3rd HTC one, all for the same reason with the SIM card error. I can't imagine that this replacement will be any different. With that being said what choices will I have for a new device

S4 pretty much. Maybe a Note II.
Quick question, are you taking the SIM card out at any time, or are you not touching it? Because I only ever had problems with mine after I removed it from my phone and put it back in.
I also have the sim card error but it comes and goes every once and a while. When ever I get it it usually goes away after 15-20 min. Even with all the issues the HTC One has I would never trade it in for any of the phones available atm.

Same. I haven't had the sim error, does it just deny LTE? If thats all it does I'd suffer for a bit (if you don't have a time restraint) and see what the Nexus5 announce says. The word is it has the CDMA bands for Sprint use and I've been itching to get my hands on a true nexus phone.

I've never touched it. My thought I'd that I shouldn't have to do quick temporary fixes on the phone. That and possibly giving Sprint a reason to deny liability.

I even asked to get a different device the last time I took my Shift in for a warranty exchange, and they wouldn't let me.
When you had the issue do you just call sprint warranty? or do you have to go into the store and state your issue?

It's a policy to OFFER a different device after the three, but not that you HAVE to change to a new device.

I dunno, maybe it's the advantage premium plan I'm on that changes things. It's nice because it's less than most of the plans, but I've got to go to a repair center for anything, I can't just switch things over the phone.

People who haven't been able to fix the SIM error.
Have you tried updating your Service profiles?
Just contact Sprint via chat, and ask them to re activate your device. They should ask you for your IMEI number.
Make sure they ask you for it. I had this happen to me after I got my phone's board replaced. The chat guy kept telling me to get a new SIM card, and I kept telling him it was pretty much the same phone, and exactly the same card. So yeah.

From what I remember when I worked there it had to be a manufacturer defect every time and the 3 swaps have to occur within a 6 month time frame. Not sure if yours fell into that. If they did then your store might be more screwy than others. Or you just weren't upset enough

It is not policy to switch after ther 3rd time it is at the discretion of the store. I doubt you would get a S4 they will probably offer a S3 I'm pretty sure a S3. I work at Sprint in Tampa Fl. Seriously? An S3? That doesn't make any sense to me. It should definitely be an S4. When we had the EVO and Epic come out a lot of EVOs had issues and several people were able to do the swap and we got them into Epics. A phone a year older with much lower specs shouldn't qualify as a comparable device.

Scotch tape fixed it for my wife's phone also make sure SIM surface is super clean. My wife's phone had a big greasy finger print on contact side and recurring issues but after scotch taping on plastic side to keep it tight it's fixed. But I never had this issue on mine, I did however blow a speaker and swapped it a month ago.
I wouldn't take another phone over this still.

I have never done it with the One but 2 AT&T iPhones I had are running Straight talk without problems. make sure you get the correct micro sim for AT&T towers, and if you do have carrier unlock problems theirs services on ebay for that, and are cheap

The best is the international unlocked HTC One single SIM. All Ones can be S-OFF easily, unless you have certain carrier locked Ones
I'd go with one that has a camera sensor newer than December, or try to get one that has the omni sensor, to help avoid the purple tint problems in low light.

Or if your going to be using T-Mobile make sure to buy one from them as it has different band hardware then the ATT, Google Play or International versions.

Sprint One is not compatible with a few roms. Better to avoid CDMA
Thanks for the heads up so sprint is definitely out but couldn't I s off super Cid and then take and AT&T ruu and make it as tho from AT&T or is the hardware different or something?
????
Sprint and ATT are different hardware wise.
If you want an ATT one buy an ATT one or a Google Play edition one.

You will have to call Sprint International Services and tell them you are traveling overseas and if you meet certain requirements they will unlock it. If not you will just have to wait for somebody to find a fix if you want it unlocked.
