Question: CPU O/C to 800MHz...isn't that risky, the hardware O/C at 768MHz gets unstable, so how will battery/stability be affected by such a high clock speed...also anyone know how hot it runs at 800MHz?
can you add savagedzen governor?

I was thinking the same thing.
My phone crashes at 768MHz
Also, could you possibly enable undervolting?
(Can the Wildfire even BE undervolted?)

I thought about this, depending on your device (some have more kick than others) you might be able to get this high, I did this because I have seen phones with 1GHz processors overclocked to 2GHz.
If you are stable at 768, you could try higher, but it is your choice.

You will have to use a lower frequency then, I can't go any higher than 691MHz without crashes, but some people are fine on 768.
I am not sure about undervolting though.
I'm running stable at 710MHz, didn't try anything between 710 and 768 tho.
thanks for savagedzen.... it work?
for freq stay on 710, max 728 and phone doesn't crash.

Next version will have up to 768MHz but with more intervals

Yeah likewise, I am stable and very few if any system FCs at 728 MHz...so theoretically you can add near 80% more CPU speed with the right governor? Haha wishful thinking I know but imagine the Wildfire at 810+ :]

Yeah, I am going to put the CPU max speed back down to 768, and add some more governors.
I think 800MHz is a bit crazy, 768 is good.
Does anyone know how to do an update.zip? I have an idea to make a script that fetches the kernel and wifi module, then shoves it in a zip with an updater script and binary.
Currently looking at CM7 updater script in the zip to try and learn how to do these things.

With the right CPU governor, you should be okay at 768, maybe you could have 778?
To make things clear, at 768 MHz wildfire doesn't crash at any app except games, when you play for 2 or more hours it simply reboots. At 748 MHz it behaves the same. It's fully stable at 729 MHz, so 800 MHz it's unreal

Is that just from your experience or have you actually tested every single wildfire ever produced, I have 2 wildfires and both run perfectly fine and stable at 768, would also probably run just as well above this and have never rebooted on me after playing games continuously for a lot more than 2hours.
And just to make things clear some people cannot use the phone at 729 as it unstable and freezes.

You should really consider clocking up to at least 1400 you'll notice a huge difference as long as your rom/kernel is stable at higher speeds. If your scared of overheating you can set a profile to change your clock settings once it reaches a certain temp.

But... It's smooth as it is just a question, why do you overclock? For games, or for smoothness in the os? Because I have a Nexus 7 for games and everything, I don't need a super powered phone. Even my N7 is usually underclocked
Another reason I don't overclock is because my phone is unstable at higher frequencies with my voltage settings. If I raise the voltages it will use more battery :/
But they said, I am setting my phone to 1.2GHz now to try

I mentioned this in the CyanVivo X thread over on the devs ofrum and wondered if anyone else has noticed the same thing and on which apps.
Since moving to CM10 I have found 2 games work on there that have never worked on any Sense roms I have tried. Both Syder Arcade and Waking Mars work perfectly on CM10 and they hadn't worked on either of the Sense roms I had been using recently (ARHD 4 and Blackout 3.2).
So, has anyone else found stuff that will run on CM10 that wouldn't run before?
Yes
Yes similar experience on sense roms, but on CyanVivo X NFS most wanted and Nova 3 are running fine on my INCs, OC'd to 1.5ghz, Performance, Profile App. with very little or no lag. Both these games were unplayable on all the sense roms i tested.

Yep Atrix is dual core, it has a tegra 2. Although the chipset is crap, it will fly with a good rom.
Maybe try another rom for the framerate issue. If its having problems at higher frequencies, you might want to try increasing the voltages.
Something that will probably increase the performance is GPU overclocking... which none of the current kernels have. There might be one coming that does have this feature (look in my sig)
This mystery kernel is compiled with linaro -o3 optimisation too iirc... more performance
EDIT: just played subway surf and performance is pretty good at 1024MHz. Maybe running at ~15 FPS, would have been higher at a higher clockspeed and GPU OC

With voltages, I mean at higher freqs you can have more stability by increasing the voltage to the cpu with an app like trickster mod
I've got a feeling we have a hardware limitation here... Maybe try CM7, supercharge it, overclock etc if you really have to play the game... Otherwise get a nexus 7

sense is eating a lot by itself, so here is a result
Hello!
Since there are some kernels that support GPU overclocking:
1. What GPU clock do you use?
2. Is your GPU undervolted?
3. Do you see any performance boost with overclock? (eg. benchmark or gaming)
4. Is your battery life the same as before? (or better/worse)
Another thing, does anyone know if you overclock our Nexus 7 GPU - does it stay there or it has no effect?
Have fun!
My example:
1. I OCed my GPU to 520mhz
2. mV values at 520mhz is 1175
3. My benchmarks are the same - I think I can see some performance improvement while gaming (might be placebo)
4. Can't really tell
i overclocked my gpu to 500mhz
with an undervolt of -50mv
You should also list what kernel you are using
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

Oh, and Metallice, why we need to use 600, 666. 700 or the other values? And, how much voltage the cpu and gpu on this device can handle?
Edit: 520 mhz using faux kernel ultimate, I don't know the voltage on his kernel.
Hi , I overclocked my phone using elementalx kernal on viper rom ... After that I ran a bunch of test by using AnTuTu and Quadrant standard apps
I don't know,I'm not an expert about OC but honestly I expect to hit the 12000 easily in quadrant benchmark sense the stock HTC one can reach the 11000
My OC choices :
Cpu frequency = 1890Mhz
Undervolt = 850/min
Gpu =450 MHz
My question here is this results normal or not ?

What is your kernel governor? for benchmarking use performance or a different governor that you currently have.
