Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my thread. i'm really having a hard time here. I'm trying to take pictures, but it has become so unstable, and I can't reply. and it keeps saying i don't have any space in my SD. I've NEVER had this problem with my other ROM/Default.
There are 2 SDs, one is the one i bought and put it, so i can put all my music and i thought the other i would be able to have it for pics and other stuff. But I can't see it. i've taken out so much music to try and make space (like 10 folders/albums). But it's still saying it doesn't have enough space.
I'm right now rooted. used ClockworkMod then installed CM10 I believe. or CM11 and right now i'm running android (I went from a 2.3.6) to 4.1.2. on an SGH-T679 and the ROM is CyanogenMod version, Build date Apr 2, 16H EDT 2019, CyanogenMod version 10-20130402-UNOFFICIAL-Ancora_tmo. I hope that's enough info.
So I'm guessing if anyone from these forums. Has anyone been through this? Or has heard of someone else having problems. Because my #1 thing is just walking around NYC, taking pics. But when I can only walk around and like take 3 or 4 pics. i'm like :crying: all day. And i don't have the $ to just buy a camera like that.
P.S. and since yesterday, It takes longer to load the battery while charging unlike before. I thought that it was weird. But then to waste/discharge the battery.
Thank you
This may or may not solve your problem, sometimes there are hidden files that stay on your internal storage and eat up all your room. In your file manager enable hidden files, then look for things you can remove. One of hem right off the bat would be .thumbnails, I'm sure there are more but honestly you have to look around your storage, there may be old downloads or cache files that are still there. Hope this helps.
I think i flashed my ROM, data, cache, dalvik-cache and I think data was the last one. and since i've done that. I can't start my phone. It says samsung. then the samsung cyanogenmod start up screen, and it just hangs there. can anyone help me with this pls? I pressed
start button + down volume button. Then it says that it's going to download the OS for me. But i think that just hangs too cause it takes a while. and then it goes back to the start up screens that won't go anywhere.
Thanks D'vari, but unfortunately i think i'm passed that. Now i need to know just how to start my phone and get it past the phone.
You probably have conflicting data somewhere. Try power + volume up. That should get you into recovery. Then wipe everything except system and you should be able to boot up.
It took so long, because i read somewhere else to press vol down + power button. so i was trying. And It got me into Odin, and that said an OS is important, do you want to dl an OS now? so i said, well, i don't think i even have one left, so i chose yes. then it would say it was downloading for hours. but then it would boot up into the boot up screen loop. which was kind of good, but i didn't think so at the moment. Then i read how to get into cwm in my phone. so then i did it, and i had to do an advanced restore before regular restore was coming back MD5 mismatch. So It's like i flashed my old system, restored it to factory cyanogenmod factory. Tomorrow i'll flash cm10 and google apps and something else that had swipe working on this phone. maybe it was just upgrading to CM10, because now it's in version 9 and swipe is not working.
Thanks for your help
cyanogenmod issues as well
I had the same issue last week when updating to 10.1. but it did say that it may take a while to boot up. I didn't stress it. I just plugged it in by my bed and went to bed. when I woke up the next morning, I had it!
I did the volume up/power-wipe clean-reboot and then I slept. give that a try. maybe you are just like me and worrying that it is taking too long and you have F-ed up your phone!
On a different note, this 10.1 is awesome. But I can't get it to recognize my sd card. it does show that one is mounted but wont save anything and wont let me access the files. I have wiped the sd card clean and formatted to fat32. but that is doing nothing for me. any other suggestions here? I need my music and the space! this is taking so much time, it almost isn't worth the effort. but I love the cyanogenmod 10.1. but can't keep if it wont work right. ???

I'm using pac 4.2 and I can switch were I want my pics stored from the camera settings maybe that ROM would help your situtation.
Thank you for all your help. But i decided to switch over to JellyBean. But i've been having some minor problems with it. I just flashed this ROM after doing something stupid in CWM (as you all know) while using cyanogen. I actually really like this ROM. I though CM10 futuristic looking. this beats that by a lot of points. I just have a problem now. The icons in the apps menu/section, are spaced too far apart. IDK what I did to cause this. Cause i was messing with those options of icons rows and colums for the desktop, but i set it back to default and that still didn't do anything to the apps section.
The other problem I'm having is with the camera. I try to open it, but it just says camera can't go on, 'wait-report-close'. That type of message. IDK what it is because the main reason for switching was to be able to take lots of pics. I love taking pics with my phone. And i found out what had my internal memory soooo clogged up. I had a .txt music cache file that was 848MB. Once I erased that, I know have 50% free space.
It looks really retarded . I know i'll fix it somehow, someday. I think there's even an upgrade now for slimbean, maybe I should try that. But right now i'm in google play store. in the 'my apps' list. and going through what i used to have, and installing my old apps, one by one. a grueling task, but I really want to use this ROM as my main rom.

First I thought that I'm crazy but now I can confirm that my NC will boot on it's own after about 5 minutes after power OFF. I have to shut down 2nd time and than it will stay OFF. Any idea what's wrong ?
Thanks
(Yes I did confirm after first shut down that it's actually OFF since no buttons will respond)
Any weather Apps running? Many of them have an option to wakeup in order to update. Check your mail, twitter and facebook apps. It has to be something you installed, I have run every update, tried all the froyo images and both Honeycomb releases and I have not seen that.
To expand on what gedster wrote, it seems kind of crazy and out there but what about any devices on your network that might send Wake on Lan requests? What if something on your network had located your NOOKcolor. I don't even know why a eReader Tablet would have a function for Wake on Lan but it's just another crazy avenue to jog down.
I do have weather app installed but I find it hard to believe that it can wake up OS that is not in standby but completely off. WIFI is also not enabled before shutdown.
Looks like the problem is there only if I used market, if market is not used it will shut down fine and it will not boot on its own.

Seems that's unlikely if you're the only one having the issue, I'd keep digging if I were you.
Looks like you're right I can't replicate the problem every time
The timing when it will boot also varies 5, 15 and even 35 minutes.
Don't know what to do, it's hard to imagine how it can boot on it's own from
complete power off state
I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem

I just posted a thread about this issue for me less than an hour ago! Funny, no one replied to mine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940713. It was pretty long...guess I should've added a TL;DR.
It happens to me on any (or no) power source. Timing varies like yours as well. I'm going to pull my weather app based on the above recommendation, and I will try your Market theory out. Knowing someone else has this issue makes me hopeful that we can find something that we have in common as the culprit.
I did download the newest Honeycomb image yesterday and I'm going to put that SD card in and see if I can get it to turn itself back on on a Market-less, user App-less build. If successful I'll Titanium my 1.1 apps and remove everything non-system, then slowly add until I get this figured out. Keep me posted if you figure something out, I'll be sure to do the same!
In case it matters I bought mine about a week ago and the serial number starts with 20046.
EDIT: Testing with Honeycomb SD now so if that's the case here it should just stay off. I booted into Honeycomb at 9CST and turned it off at 9:01. I'll give it a couple of hours.
I used to have this same problem. I would randomly find my 1.0.1 auto-nootered 950mhz rom nook on, when I knew I had turned it off. interesting part is, this problem completely solved itself after I flashed my emmc with the custom nookie 5.9 img. so it must be an eclair issue and not a hardware issue

Really? I've been putting that off because I don't like the idea of not having Clockwork Recovery. I understand there are ways to do the same things using IOMonster's things but I'd really rather just have Clockwork Recovery working. Unless there's a way to get it going that I missed?
Yup, I've been having this issue as well. I really want to flash NF but I want hardware video acceleration.

you are correct that clockwork does not work with froyo. however the bootable sd card that you would burn automatically starts up clockwork first. you can run a backup and restore, as far as i know, without having to reflash froyo. on a personal note, froyo still has some issues but overall I'm exteremly pleased so far. i really just wanted to get rid of all of the b&n stuff (mainly the status bar) along with any possible way of them pushing an update to break root. I would recommend it, but CM 7 with gingerbread will probably be out sooner rather than later.

Which I guess brings us back to, why is Eclair doing this, and why does it seem to be limited to lifeisfun and myself?
I'm glad I'm no longer special
My serial # is 200503 .....
Removing all application that I have installed didn't help.
Only 100% way to shut down is to let it boot and immediately shut down.

Now that I understand the power of this things SD slot and that CWR can be run off of an SD, I can totally live with that. Hardware Video isn't a must for me yet, so I may take the plunge tonight after work...BTW, what are people's favorite video apps? I have been playing with VLC stream and convert, which works somewhat with my media server's samba shares. I have the share mounted to a directory on the sdcard since many apps look there exclusively.
More on topic, I couldn't get SD Honeycomb to start itself on its own. I tried booting then shutting down. 2 hrs of nothing 15mins light activity then shutting down. 2 more hours of nothing. About an hour of heavy use, seeing what could be installed, sideloading, testing, editing things like build.prop and rebooting often and trying to get swype working (don't think it's supposed to, but that's "heavy use" for me.) Powered down. Went to bed. Still not on this morning. This looks indeed to be an issue with the B&N stock Eclair.
Mine doesn't turn itself on with no interaction at all, but will turn on every time when you plug in the charger or cable hooked to USB port in computer.
I can turn it off once it is already plugged in and it will stay off, but remove and replug the charger and it is on again.
Strange.
Well, strange that only two or three of us noticed this strange problem.
Yeah, started for me after 1.1 update. Turned it off last night, tonight it was on with 40% battery! I think its 1.1 related, this didn't happen with 1.0.1 ...
I'm sure there's a condition that's causing or exasperating this issue, something common to us all. But at this point since I don't use the Nook as a video player (I actually bought it to read books, but I use Aldiko and the open epub format) I will likely flash Nookie to the eMMC and call it a day. Honestly can't wait to get a clean notification bar on this thing anyway.
I would like to keep this short and sweet so...
Basically heres the low down: I got a G1 almost a year ago, got into Rooting/flashing 7 months ago. I noticed in the beginning almost every rom was giving me a problem, Freezing up, hanging for long periods of time, etc. I eventually found a very nice, stable rom thats been lasting me for about 6 months but as of late was being horrible. Force Closing everytime I got a text message, REALLY Hanging for long periods of time, freezing up. Etc.
So I finally got FED UP, and decide it was time for a change, so I grabbed MLIGN 3.3v having seen so many good reviews and what not, thinking it would be the remedy to my poison. I cried. So in short, here is whats going on:
1. It seems to only wanna cooperate when Plugged into the USB, which, isn't too practical.
2. When not plugged in, it is NOT sluggish, but when loading into apps I've noticed it will hang for quiet awhile or completely lock up to the point only popping out the battery will work.
3. I haven't noticed it yet, but on the old ROM it would randomly shut off during phone calls; which leads me too....
4. When ever I shut the screen off (by pushing endcall) it seems to freeze and lock up and eventually either SHUTOFF or REBOOT into a SHUTOFF of the phone and refuse to turn back on until it has been plugged into the USB, or enough time has passed for it to 'forgive me' and by that, I mean randomly work again.
5: Various other things I cant think of right now.
So, basically thats almost everything. Whenever its plugged into USB though, it works like a charm (for the most part).
Would a problem with my Battery be the case? Which, would be awkward but a possibility.
Or did I just do something wrong?
I made sure to factory wipe the phone twice, even 3 times on the last go, I updated the ENG.SPL and Radio every time I tried to reflash just to make sure.
I partitioned my SD Card for 32MB Swap; 512EXT2 (and 7xxEXT2 I forget what it was) and I also upgraded it to EXT3, which showed some improvement... I believe.
So, I just would like to have my phone working, in a peaceful, obedient manner xD.
Forgive me for the block of text, and all help will be appreciated. Thank you guys... I await sound advice
Try different ROM? See which one works best.
Like me, I found that SuperAosp is best suit for me (see my sig for DEV Site and Download, if you want to try it). It had been running fast and I had no issue, what so ever. Occasionally when I loaded apps that hogged the power usage it gets lags, but still good. FCs are at minimal to none (that's just because of the way I handle the apps). Once in a while I noticed that it reboot, when I tried to use the apps that hogged the memory (maybe that was the apps issue).
Only other thing I recommed is to download a different launcher, because the build-in ADW Launcher does not work too well in my opinion.
Another thing, if you wish to keep the ROM you had. I would suggest to change the partition size. (IE: Catch [128MB]/Ext 2 or EXT 3 [1024MB]/ FAT32[the rest]) Now I know other people might say that it's overkill, but to me my G1 performance it great.
I've tried multiple roms as of late, and the one I like the most does happen to be MLIGNs... everything seems to be working correctly for the most part with the exception of what I listed above... Now on the like, 23rd reboot most of the sluggishness that was there before is gone, and everything is pretty much being cooperative, with the exception of like the weather, which isn't updating properly but I can live with that. What I cant live with is the fact that this ROM when not plugged in, will freeze up when in the lock screen, a few minutes after it has darkened and gone black and wont respond at all. Or I'll unplug it and just do a test, swipe left, right for a good minute or two, go into apps and It'll just SHUT OFF. Maybe it really is the battery? I'm unsure. When I look at the battery it does look quiet bloated... I am unsure...
I'm gonna try to set it to what you recommended, and see if that works...
I don't think it's the battery.
Have you tried reformat/partion your SD card (be sure to backup your data first). See my last comment on sizes recommendation for each partition.
Also check on the swappiness setting.
Mhm... so I went back and followed everything you told me to do, including repartitioning to the exact file sizes you told me. (Also I'm guessing Cache meant Swap) So I set everything up and its really blazing fast and stable.... until I remove the USB cord. Then it shuts off, freezes at lock screen when the screen is dimmed to black, and will just randomly shut off while doing things (especially when trying to get into messages)
Also if it helps, I have a Class 2 8Gig SD card, and my Recovery is Ra 1.5.x(I forget.) I'm completely confused... I dunno what to do... I would really like this to just work and stop being a hassle D:
Hmmm, Try reading this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010932
See if it helps.
Nothing :/ Its okay... I'm gonna go play around with other roms, completely re do my phone, make sure everything is updated etc. Then go from there.
Thank you anyways, you were a big help, reguardless of my phones triumphing retardism
hey guys, I don't know what's going on with my S7 but yesterday was working fine and out of nowhere everything started to FC! From twitter to "Google Services Framwork", Gmail, browser, tweetdeck, calendar, voice, I can't pretty much use it anymore, I haven't done any new app installations so i don't know what's wrong! is it just me, or anyone else having this problem??
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks
That has happened to me 4 or 5 times. It's like half of the device gets erased but the apps are there. Everything force closes. I end up having to erase the device and re-install everything. Reboot into recovery if you can't figure it out and format the system and data. For some reason when i do that, i keep root. Not entirely sure how that happens, but one less step for me. I think root is power and one of the volume buttons.

ha! i remember I already did that. After the Update we had, and I exchanged mine for a new one I decided to stay with no root (i don't know why! lol) so I guess I'll reset everything and go back to root I figured at the end I was gonna do that, but I was trying to see if it was just me or there was a fix
thanks man!
ok, so since yesterday I've been trying to factory reset the DS, and when it boots back on, everything stays the same!
I'm a little confused now, if I take a picture and I turn the tablet off, when I turn it back on, the picture disappears. Same thing happens if I move widgets, delete or create new ones on the screen, they go back to as the configuration was on friday night! GV not working, and the last message that shows there, same thing, shows the last one on friday. I don't know what can I do.... should I call dell??
duck tape and dynomite
stupid thing started crashing yesterday FC this and FC that ....cant restore it as i no longer have write access to the internal sd card
1) tried nv flash
2) tried restoring from clockwork
3) tried pushing files through adb
4) tried fastboot ....
if i didnt just dump money into this thing id blow it up ......
any help would be appreciated.......any tips to fix it or kill it completely so i can get another one
actually deleted all of the files on internal sd card and uninstalled every program on the device looked completly stock ....rebooted it and it went back to how it was yesterday ......theres gotta be a reason why other are having the same problem that started on the same day .....maybe dell pushed an OTA update and screwed us ......just a thought cause mine was fine till i went 4g yesterday so my sis could post facebook pics ....not sure but hope we can figure this out
Samething happened to me
Hi, did you ever find a solution? my streak 7 was ran out of battery, before it shut off, the screen started flickering and then it turned off. after it came back on, it looked like it was fine, everything looked normal, but then everything started force closing, haven't found a solution

I'm running stock, and I discovered the hard way that you can't let the S7 battery run all the way down. The S7 will not power itself down in time. I had the same issue, and the only way around it was to do a complete factory reset, using the menu button from the main screen. I think the reset is in the "About" section, but I don't have my S7 with me now.
Being used to WM6, which powers the device down at 5%, I was not expecting the device to do this, but there it is.
dell streak 7
im not sure if I am the only one with this issue you but becareful with the streak 7 mine well both of mine wont charge properly and the newest one wont charge at all. i have to send it back to dell for them to fix it. Im not sure what cause this but my only advie is to never use a different charger for it only dell chargers. Im guessing that it messes up the battery callibration and then it gets really hot when charging
hi there
after successfully installing the JB updated on my unlocked phone and all was running fine for a while
that is until I rebooted it this morning, now the stupid thing wont start. I am stuck at the triangle iconwith the screwdirver and spanner, and the 'progress' bar below..
clearly it is not progressing as it been like that for over an hour now
also tried clearing cahce/dalvik to no avail
any options here or do I have to ftf my way back to ICS?
any help very much appreciated

although it has lost my security settings and all the haptic feedback has turned itself back on again
lost my swiftkey settings also it seems
piece of shizzle
EDIT: in fact it refuses to keep any security settings at all, no lock screen nothing.
lost all my texts everything, f*cking cr*p
walkman isnt working either
wondering why i bothered upgrading cant actually see any difference really other than a more colorful boot image. hoping that the battery life will improve as that is rubbish - I know it takes a while to settle.

No No No don't format anything. That would make you loose all data and apps. Let it be. It will fix itself. Could take between 5 minutes and 3 hours. It is not an error or a problem or anything. Its just getting ready.
But if you really really need it to boot, yes you can format internal.

I don't know why it screwed up your settings buddy maybe due to a small flashing error. Flash again and you will see the difference in the upgrade. Battery life is amazing. I can get two days if i switch off data, and 1.5 days with data always on. Plus multitasking is smoother and the camera has HDR, the Xperia Z's ClearAudio+ engine, notification toggles, a sexy new Album, blah blah. You'll find out.
Oh and you did the right thing by letting it be with the white triangle sign.

its an Xperia T I have in case that wasn't clear...
so I installed it from a zip in the end, rather than an ftf as flashtool was playing sillybuggers.
I should just go in to recovery and do so again? presumably along with the JB GApps
like I say it was working fine after the first time I did that, but when I turned it off this morning it went all manky
I would however like to keep some of my settings for the apps that havent already had their settings raped.. is titanium the best way to do that? or to move things to SD card and reinstall or something
also home button not functioning- at all
the no screen lock is a big issue as I have my work emails on there - if I lost my phone I would really get in trouble

Most the app stuff is on /data not /sdcard so you'll be fine, some of the data made by apps will be in /sdcard/android but there isn't much there as most is in /data/data so if you backup /sdcard/android you'll be fine, you may as well backup your whole sdcard and format, that's the solution I used and most people have been using. If in doubt use titanium backup to also backup your apps if you're unsure

I believe the best way is to use a ftf file with flashtool. I have not tried any zipped roms. They might be faulty. And Titanium Backup is the app to use to backup apps. Moving things to SD card is useless as they will be removed when you install a new rom. Always make sure you do a full wipe when you flash a new rom, and flash the kernel before flashing the rom.

HI,
I'm writing this in a new post not to be confused with out dated information!
My wish is, someone smarter than me write it! but it just has not happened..
The main issue is:
Note 4 tmo
1. Freezing.
2. Restarting randomly.
3. MMC failures.
4. Kernel Panic.
5. Sluggish.
6. Goes to sleep and does not awake.
7. Bla, Bla.
Remember, this is in my opinion!
If you can use it say thanks if not don't flame, but feel free to set the record straight!
Thoughts...
To many phones have gone wacky on or about the same time as the MM update.
In my humble opinion its software not hardware or is it!
I think its faulty/borderline firmware that may run on some but due to maybe another underlying issue pushes the phone over the edge!
Since the clean-up I have had no other issues, see below!
Troubleshooting, Best practices
Troubleshooting best practices
*Start out with good tools*
1. Good USB Cable
2. Fully Charged Battery
3. Good software tools such as Odin, Kies, etc.
4. Known workable drivers (windows, Mac)
5. Always do a back-up of your stuff.
6. Have good working copies from reliable sources such as firmware, roms, TWRP, etc.
7. Make sure your hardware is Genuine, there is Note 4 knockoffs & Micro-sd card knockoffs, Battery Knockoffs swirling around the internet!
8. Remember, Garbage In Garbage out! if your system is conflicting you can't rely on your back-ups, dirty flashing, etc tear it down and rebuild including internal SD
9. Factory reset, wipe, format, (this must happen to start fresh.
10. If your googling for research please don't choose all but say search in the last month etc. conflicting information exists.
11. Please match your kernel with the rom & firmware ask the developer of the rom for advice.
BAD Information
in our search for answers, we may come across info that was good at one time but no longer! so be careful.
examples:
1. You can revert back to KK from MM.
(not sure that's true, although Odin will let you downgrade to the AOG1 firmware of the N4T2, I'm not sure its stable.
But it won't then let you reflash the ANK4.
2. Just because its on the internet don't mean its true.
3. Just because the Samsung guy says its the Motherboard, its still suspect.. (I'll tell you my car transmission story later)same theory
3a. He pulls his pants down and craps just like we do!
4. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken $h!t, just because it has chicken in the title..
Dude my note 4 is totally F'd phones just stop working when they are old. I've had this note 4 since a week after it came in 14. Been a great phone but I switched to the s7 edge because of this. S7 edge screen cracked so I'm using this one as a backup and MAN it sucks ! My issues are mainly with battery. I've tried a new battery and don't help, it dies at 30% it charges slow, drains fast. Also a lot of glitches my back button don't work on YT? camera can't focused on an object more than 3Ft away. Thus phone is a mess. Can't wait to fix my s7 edge. Just needs to come up with an extra $320 stupid Assurant won't fix my s7 edge. Taking off JUMP. Till the switch insurance companies soon they will

Yep I'm with you brother! (still writing the thread though!)
SO far So Good Here's What I DID
1. Download all necessary firmwares.
2. changed to a smaller tried and true micro-sd card (just in case)
3. Charged my battery.
4. formatted my sd card with SD-formatter on the PC
5 loaded all files on the sd card with a usb-micro-sd reader/writer
6.Moved PC files all in one location on the HD such as C:/note4/kernels
or C:/note4/roms or C:/note4/firmware.. (I think you get the picture)
7. in TWRP I wiped, factory reset, formatted data on internal SD, everything except the external sd. (a couple of times)
8. with ODIN I did flash the T2"s firmware listed as :N910T2UVU2A0G1 just to downgrade from MM.
9. Then let it boot with minimal input, after shutting it down back to DL mode.
10 with odin install DOK2 firmware, it is more stable.
11 then flashed TWRP but unclick the auto-boot. (Thanks to Bigbiff & TWRP team)
12 Unplug after TWRP flashes and pull the battery. (2 or 3 Seconds)
13 boot in recovery using home, Power and volume UP.
14 now flash rom of choice I used N5 Express ver. 3.4D (Thanks rmarinella )
15 with Freeza's kernel 3.10.40 BeastMode Thanks Freeza)
16 customize with your personal settings then backup ( backup before you do to much tweaking though)
Special thanks to all folks that put so much time into this phone! if I left someone out, let me know!
Here's some photos!
I know you say Quadrant bench marks are bull?
well they will detect stuttering, lag etc.
So you guys had a huge performance hit today? I thought my ram was going or something. Long pauses in responsiveness, 10-15 second lock screen turn on from time to time, random jitters. Forced me to wipe everything and upgrade to MM from 5.0.1. Right around my last tmo payment for the phone too. Suspicious. The upgrade seems to have made things a little better (still some small issues) but now I'm paranoid. Probably my last samsung phone...shame (this is primarily due to the lack of battery and expandable memory though).
If anyone had a lot of success with a custom ROM please repot back.
EDIT: phone rebooted after posting this. Will have to tinker more.

Good luck, thanks for posting!
I got my Note 4 back in late 2014. I picked the Note 4 over the Nexus 6 and I regretted it after the first Lollipop update.
I truly believe (imo) Samusng gave us a borked Lollipop update because at the time the S6 had came out the gate with Lollipop and the newer version of TouchWiz.
There was a rom that was made from a Sprint S6 edge which the creator tried to port over as best he could to the Note 4 and it was very fast and snappy, The only issue was the radio would stop working and would randomly reset every so often. Everything did work including the Theme store and the edge apps. What makes the Note 4 so weird acting (imo) is the older version of TouchWiz still lingering on the Note 4 and Note Edge.
It got worse when the MM update came out. I was using a stock rom, unrooted and it was terrible. I finally got a Nexus6 last year and the phone is still snappy and fats, if not faster on Nougat. Samsung knew that people would still keep their Note 4's over the Note 5 due to the lack of missing features like a removable battery, sd card slot, and IR blaster.
I dont think their is much you can do unless you run a custom rom.
Welp since I still have issues with my Note4 and am completely new and not very knowledgeable about it... I had the same issues with my stock phone;(it even bricked on me once) I snooped around and now I've settled with installing that app "WakeLock" and let it always run (Partial wake lock setting 4);
* I know its not fixing the problem but I'm a noob *
its been almost a week now and it phone doesn't freeze, reboot, lag(majorly);
Before I had to remove battery at least 5 times a day and pray it would turn back on;

I hope an expert chimes in... but I think wake lock is doing what a good working kernel is suppose to do! correct me if I'm on the wrong track.
Most of my issues seem to be kernel related. There are times when the phone will act up just because I plugged it in or will loop when trying to shutdown. I think part of it was having a bad TWRP flash that screwed with subsequent actions. Secondly, my phone seems to run fine until I install any GAPPS. The camera is always having issues and I would get random wake lock and boot loops.
Right now, I flashed DU 10.6 and then ran a backup before flashing GAPPS. Then, using that as a base, I'm going to try and find a happy GAPPS and DU 10.6 combination. I may have to try a minimal GAPPS approach and install things as needed on /data

Thanks for the luck wishes. I think they might have helped
So, thinking more about my issues, I realized that it was not only kernel problems, but random issues depending on how I flashed and what I flashed. Today, I have what I think is a CLEAN and working install. Previously, I would have issues with Wifi starting up and Camera focusing and SuperSU installation.
Here's what I did to get my clean install:
Always backed up a copy each step of the way so I could have checkpoints to go back to and build upon.
First, I downloaded the newest version of ODIN: 3.12.3
Then, I flashed a new copy of TWRP recovery via ODIN: twrp-3.0.2-0-trltetmo.img.tar
SHUT DOWN PHONE (Do not reboot)
SIT 2 MINUTES
boot into recovery using VOL UP + HOME + PWR
ADVANCED WIPE: check everything BUT Internal Storage and MicroSD and swipe to wipe.
Install ROM (no other files!) and wait.
Back out of menus until TWRP home menu and choose reboot, then in the submenu, Shutdown
SIT 2 MINUTES
boot regularly
SIT 15 MINUTES This part is hard to do, but just go do some reading and come back.
Then, SHUTDOWN and TURN BACK ON.
You should still be on the Welcome screen upon boot.
Make sure you can connect to Wifi and your SIM is being read. If not, start over from the advanced wipe and make sure to wait when needed.
If that all works, skip the gmail and name prompts and get to the home screen.
Shutdown wait a minute and boot to recovery
run a backup and name it PRE-GAPPS or something (DO NOT USE ENCRYPTION, it has not restore properly from encryption in my experience)
Then, flash your GAPPS file and SHUTDOWN and wait a minute. I used PICO GAPPS (Open Gapps; ARM | pico | 6.0) so I could install what I wanted later from Play Store.
Boot up normally, skip any logins etc and make sure camera, wifi and phone work. If yes, shutdown and boot into RECOVERY, backup and name WORKINGGAPPS or something.
Boot into system and start the Google Account logins etc.
At this point, I ran another backup Called WITHGOOGLE
And finally, I booted back into the system and started loading my other applications and adding some of my tweaks, then running another backup. LOL
It was a time consuming and patience testing practice, but I'm happy now that my phone is working as expected. I'll report back if it stays stable or not. At least I have back ups to revert to.

Yeah, I believe I would have move my important stuff off the internal and wiped it!
You can't be sure conflicting stuff does not linger..
