obviously it's due to ROM i think? one is Sense 4.0 and another is Sense 4.1 though..
mine (viper ROM 2.5.3) with really heavy usage(screen never off), battery last for around 6-7hours..

What's your screen time, it looks like its behaving normally cause you've got a lot of screen on/offs and it wakes at the same time

i'new sorry for my bad english.
when i buy my incredible S (4.0.4 ice cream sandwish) last week my baterry last like 10 hours with normal use (msn, calls, 3g data, wifi, etc) i install super task killer and i discover that a lot of apps were runing in backgorund,
i try this and work for me, because now my baterry last one day
try this:
settings/developer options
when you see menu apps check the option destroy every activity as soon as the users leaves it
in the option Background proces limit i put at most 4 proceses. i hope this help you guys a lot.
when i make this chances my baterry life increase a lot, now i openn super task killer and i see only four procees are runing.

[Q] Phone is always awake (battery drain overnight)

So I got my One two days ago and installed some apps, running on stock 4.1.2.
According to the system monitor my phone is ALWAYS AWAKE, even when I turn it off and only plug in the charger.
How can I solve it, how can I find what app is keeping my phone awake? I am losing like 50% battery overnight while in airplane mode
Thanks, BBLN.
It's difficoult found the app.
So try with an hard reset or see in dev settigs if there is the voice selected

Nope, it's like my phone is draining while being idle (On battery usage: Phone Idle - 50%).
I closed some running services, seems like now he is finally really idle.

Htc one kernels

Hi...m using arhd rom 10.3 ...on my htc one...m very satisfied with rom but everytime i wanted to flash coustom kernel ....it do not install....stock kernel is using a lots of battery.....is there any kernel tht is available which works....sply to battery life....thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
There aren't any kernels that work with 4.2.2 based ROMs as far as I am aware. You'd have to go back to 4.1.2 if you want to flash a custom kernel.
Thnx.....but m a heavy user my battery drains very very fast...moreover it chargers very slowly too....any mod or tweak for tht....i put it on auto brightness...and autosync off......but didnt helped much...only get 5% better result......

How heavy are we talking? Just turn Power Saver on, you'll save battery by not heating up as much, and heat also reduces the power of your battery so double dip gain.
I'd say invest in a battery case or pack if your phone can't last you a day.

Well i use fone sixteen hours a day with always on data or wifi...power saving is on...except heptic feedback...as m very use to of haptic feedback.....slow chargering is also a big issue....it drains at the rate of 10% per 25 minutes.....

Xperia V - Huge battery drain (Google Services)

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.

Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:
zandm7 said:
Seriously though this ROM is great. All that needs to be fixed are the camera bug, music wakelock thing, and heavy battery usage from Android System and Google Services and then it's basically perfect.

So, i guess its normal? But an actual CM User can give you better report. Not using it anymore.
awww, gregbradley?
30% in 8hours sleeping? horrible....but you are right, let it settle, fmlogin
Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.
Also check what your cpu is set at and the governor, if its on performance it will be maxing out all the time..
The governor is ondemand and I didn't change the clock of cpu...
I'll install the app and come back with a screenshot, so I think it'll be easier to find some problem

Mavhia, can you notice an unusual consume from google services?
Good to know that this isn't happening only with my phone.

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?

Got the same problem about 3 months ago..
I did a factory reset....back up all your apps and data, factory reset your phone if you can't find any other solutions...

Massive battery drain after JB update.

Hi,
I was so satisfied with how good battery lasts till JB update came. Before that I would rarely charge before night but now I have to do it every night I am sort of light to average user. My main concern brought this stats you can see screen shot where android system uses most of the battery. What is going onhhere? I have a few apps that using but not much changed in my habits. I am with 3UK
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Did you do a full wipe after the update?
Yes I did. All from the scratch. I just red that one htc one owner had similar issue and his fast boot option was off he enabled it and things got way better. so was mine off just enabled it.
Why is everyone so surprised at Android System being at the top of the new battery stats?
It makes sense really. If you don't use your phone a lot, and nothing else is running taking up power, the system is going to be at the top...
As far as an actual drop in battery life, I'd download GSM battery monitor or Better Battery Stats and check for wakelocks.

Yeah I agree, especially if you reset your battery monitoring often, it can be highly confusing and misleading to read battery usage stats. I use Du Battery Monitor which I've been happy with.
I have wakelock detector installed. And also noticed android system wakelocks on cpu wakelocks are high on the high. Higher than anything else. And this happend in the first half an hour I am on the phone. First screenshot is cpu wakelock and second is wakelock triggers.
What would you guys advice to monitor for battery usage : over what time period and what to pay attention most. My wake lock detector is on now and I will do more screenshots tonight.

Well at least your phone is going into deep sleep and doesn't look like any rogue app. You may want to Greenify facebook though.
Also look here for a battery "calibration", some say it worked for them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43579577&postcount=36105
And don't forget you need to let your battery "settle" which takes a couple of days.

I will do factory reset again and then battery calibration later.

Are your network location services on or off? If they are on, try turning them all off (as well as any Google Now network location service stuff). I found that sometimes the Google services updated badly and went into a situation where the battery would drain rapidly due to constant wakelocks.

I...don't think 16 hours is terrible considering that you seem to have been doing some Youtube and PDF-reading. The percentage on that PDF viewer seems pretty high but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Facebook is obviously the biggest culprit remaining.
I would try to use Facebook in your browser instead of the app. I'm not a heavy Facebook user and don't need the notifications. It gave me a big battery boost after deinstalling the app. Facebook is constantly syncing and tracking your location, it's very batterie unfriendly

I have thought the same today to have FB on browser rather than app. It is strange I have tweaked FB app a lot like refresh only 4 hours, no notifications left on but app still awakening mad. Now only FB bothers me other apps behave well and I get pretty good battery consumption.

Battery intense drain on KitKat!!!!

Hi all..... My phone is suffering from intense battery drain on any KitKat rom I put it on..... KitKat is faster than the stock ones.... But the battery drop is literally a straight line.... I'll upload the stats here for you all to see..... I'm kind of keen on staying on KitKat..... So of there is any way that can happen with a proper battery life.... I'm all for it..... Thank you!!!

Another thing.... When the battery is about to die.... The screen flickers like mad.....
Typical symptoms. Buy a new one.
Um..... A new battery right? I have one...... I'll try it and see how it goes
Weirdly though, the battery drop isn't noticeable on stock ROMs..... why would that be?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe you have some major wakelocks going on, but I don't see the phone being awake all the time..
You could always try disabling sync, sync in apps such as facebook, disable GPS, remove the Google+ app.
Do that and see if the issue persists. I'd say it's a dead battery, but the confusing thing is that it doesn't happen when you're on stock ROMs, like you said.
