Hello, I have cm7 running on my Samsung Dart. I ported this CM7 Rom from the Samsung Galaxy Mini:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1712654
It booted and got to the setup screen. The problem is that there are black lines in the screen and everything is cut up. I've been pressing things and everything is responding, I just ca't see it. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it? Is it a build.prop issue or is it a lib? Thanks

Hi Herman,
I don't think it is Swype to be honest.
I have attached an image of the Galaxy S III with keyboard showing.

??
this seems to be just a themed default android 4 keyboard (layout is exactly the same)... thus, no real need for porting, is there?

I have tried it before. It is only for Galaxy S2 so I got a soft brick.
Maybe we can use some files from CyanogenMod to make it work.

When I put a pattern lock in cm7 the lockscreen looks like this:
so I want to know if there is any way to make it look like ics or at least make it bigger so the dots don't overlap? Thanks

When you say the "file" you mean the image or the apk? Because I don't think apks for ICS can work on a phone with GB. :S
I want it to look like this....
There is a tutorial here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494271
But it is for Galaxy Ace so I don't think it would fit on my screen.... Please help me, is the only thing i need to make my phone look 100% ICS.
EDIT: Actually I check on google and I noticed Galaxy Ace's screen is HVGA too.... (320x480) Let me try this to see if it works... Thanks anyway
EDIT 2: It doesn't work... after applying it it reboots and then i have a bootloop. Any way to make this work? Please help!

It probably has something to do with your current dpi.

What you mean by "dpi"?
My phone is a Live with walkman (320x480) resolution so this images posted on the thread have to work on my phone.
Here is what I did:
Installed Ninjamorph
Copy framework-res.apk to SD.
Open apk with Ninjamorph.
Replace png files posted in the thread I just mention before.
Finish project
Replace original framework-res.apk with the new one (new pngs) with the right permissions.
And that`s it. But it doesn't work.
Oh sorry dude, today i was messing around with build.prop changing dpi and pattern lockscreen looked just like yours.

So.... is there a way to change this To make CM7 pattern lockscreen look like ICS??
I really like the Nexus-style NavBar, but the default height when I set the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" value in build.prop is too high at 48 px. I created a flashable zip for the Epic on CM10 that sets the height to 36px. It does not automatically add the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" value though, you have to do that yourself.
This mod was created using the framework-res.apk from the cm-10-20130120-NIGHTLY-epicmtd build.I can confirm it works with that one, but it may (or may not) work with earlier builds. Make sure you have a backup
Installation
Edit system/build.prop to add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Reboot/flash the zip
Hope you like it.
Special thanks to Ahmedabad for the guide on editing framework-res.apk and to Jamshedpur for the guide on using apktool.
Another cool thing I discovered is that once you add "qemu-hw.mainkeys=0" to build.prop and reboot, the System settings > System menu now displays a "Navigation Bar" option. You can add and modify your buttons there!
I added a search button, and made the menu button display all the time, and not by application. I'm loving CM10 more every day!
I'm using cm-10-20130120-NIGHTLY-epicmtd and when I flash this my phone won't boot :/ :silly:

Sorry about that - I have it on two Epics, mine and my wife's, and it worked on both. I've flashed it using CWM and TWRP. I even went back from 10.1 to 10 and reflashed it.
Let me check it out and get back to you.

That will do it! I have a zip for that one too - the only problem is that in landscape mode, the buttons think the screen is taller than it is, and the buttons seem far apart. It works great in regular portrait mode, though. Here, give it a try and let me know if you like it.

Edit system/build.prop file and change qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to 1, then reboot your phone.
I dunno why my build.prop can't be edited using root explore, even I've made the permission become R/W..
any solution editing my build.prop?

I always use the editor that comes with the CM 10 File explorer. You just have to make sure you go into Settings and enable root access.
Thanks bro, my problem is solved

There was already a mod linked in the 10.1 thread. It looks like a case of multiple people working on it. When there wasn't a link to a working framework-res the one in this thread worked. When there wasn't one in this thread, the one in the 10.1 worked.

Hi guys just wanted to ask for help from the experts.
I've been porting on my own this past weeks and my first try booted up well.
Tried another and still booted well.
But after sometime when I try porting again, it won't boot anymore.
It would pass the splash screen then after that would be BLACK SCREEN. :crying:
I'm just curious why this is happening when I did the same procedure I did with the other roms I ported and got it to boot well.
Hope someone could help me.
THANK YOU!

what I do is copy the whole lib folder from the rom I want to port and paste it to my base.
Is there something wrong in that?
Thanks for the reply!
So you are taking the libs from the ROM that's for another device?
