Screen flicker and battery drain - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a problem with my phone, whenever I install a stock rom Jb example (GalactusRom or other) and I started playing without plugging in the power, the screen starts to flicker and after the phone turns off and restarts the battery when it rises from 70% to 15%
What do you think? and how to resolve this problem ?
Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks !

the battery is new, that I do not with AOSP

Replace your battery again... and reflash your rom again with old battery and if done, use your new battery after first reboot

Is the new battery an actual Samsung one? Is it actually "new?" If possible I would try to get an actual Samsung battery, my OEM one died from age and I tried to replace it with a fake (IDK which one) and it also caused flickering and restarts. It was all fixed when I replaced with a new OEM one (from Amazon).

does any one have a clue what is wrong with this phone ?
I think it is software problem , old firmware was v08
how can i get it?
I would try recalibrating the battery with a program like BatterCalibration. You can get it from the market. If that doesn't work?????

What about a different battery? If you happened to get a defective battery changing it out might help. Have you tried charging it with a USB post on your computer? Maybe it's an issue with the charger, or the cable. Could try replacing those as well.

Boot loop after CM7 & Baseband 15

Hi Guys,
I had a reboot loop problem in my X8 after installing Viber from a Wifi connection and decided to mod it. I successfully unlocked the boot loader & rooted my Xperia X8. Flashed it with CM7 RC1 V4. I rebooted the phone to see the Cyanogen Mod screen with the skate board and it proceeded to ask me a question about the setup wizard or market option, I made a selection and the phone went dead. It rebooted and started hanging on the SE logo. I thought it was due to Baseband 15 and flashed it but no luck.
I have Clockwork Mod on it and can randomly enter it also. I would appreciate any help and pointers, is this an issue due to using the wifi and is the hardware at fault. Once the boot loop starts the battery drains pretty fast I can see the Cyanogen battery status icon and try to wait for it to charge completely
Many thanks & regards

* Did you factory reset it from CWM before installing the ROM? Boot loops are common when one doesn't, particularly if you're coming from another ROM (from what you say, I guess you're coming from stock 2.1)
* It seems that you flashed baseband 015 AFTER flashing the new ROM. AFAIK it should be done BEFORE flashing a new ROM, while still on stock 2.1. If that's the case, you'd have to go back to 2.1 using SEUS (or Flashtool; there are stock ROM images here on XDA), THEN flash baseband 015, THEN root, THEN flash CM7 again.
---
As a side note, you unlocked your bootloader but didn't install a new kernel, which is what one normally unlocks the bootloader for. Unlocking the bootloader isn't needed to flash a ROM as long as it works with the stock kernel (most don't, but yours should.)
Mod issue or battery or hardware fault

Many thnks for the reply mate, what you said is right. I might have missed a few things. But I reflashed Baseband 15 yesterday before your reply to my post and now it seems to be booting into cyanogen mod happily but each time it takes only a few seconds and through a few setup screens before it reboots again. This is exactly what was happening even on the stock ROM before doing any Mod procedure and the battery gets drained too. Could this be a hardware fault.

i didnt get it, when on setup screen you mean when it tells to add your email.....and when you are finished it reboots?!
if i understood well, there is no hardware problem, go to cwm, full wipe-factory reset, advanced>wipe dalvik, reinstall your rom(install custom zip) and it should work:fingers-crossed:

Thanks for the reply stamatis, basically its just shutting down because there is no battery left to power it, it seems. At times it reaches upto the setup wizard (shown when booting for the first time), the next time it could go up to adding a gmail account or language selection screen. I have even seen it load the home screen before it shuts off. This all started happening after downloading some apps from a wifi connection. I have done that before wiping and re installing but will try again. My presumption is that since it was happening on stock ROM and now on CM7 too then it's probably a hardware issue

ok i see now, your problem is battery drain,
is it that extream? i mean, you charge to full and when you open it up it shut down by low battery?
have you try to opening while charging?is it the same?
are you sure its charging?
that way too xtream to be software problem so its more likely that its hardware...

yes you got it right. I do charge it fully and when it boots the CM7 UI for a few seconds the battery goes down half or even less or nearly empty. I have tried opening it while charging and thats when the above happens, yes I can see the Cyanogen charging icon. So you think its a hardware issue and I should not pursue it further

yea, i guess your battery almost dead.....and i dont think its a good idea to by new battery, you better buy new phone,as the batteries are quite expensive if you think that the worth of the x8 right now would be 50 euros....

if there is no recovery or download mode.. then it will really be impossible to see if the phone was rooted or not

Charging bug on xperia Z : Everyone must read

I've 2 xperia z which semi bricked in one month . Both device were unlocked , rooted and on 4.4.4 stock.
It started with following symptomps
1 First battery started to shows wrong battery percentage
2 Then it started to drain drastically
3 At latter stage the device were not charging
4 Then a time came whenever I opened some apps it started to shut down
4 At last stage , the device only booted when charger connected .
The two device are having almost same symptoms .
I can flash the .ftf file through flashtool . I tried every stock and custom firmware. I changed the battery , cable and still the same problem.
There is one more thing on both device , I'm not getting green light when pressing the down button while connecting device to my laptop . But even thought I can flash .ftf on red light using flashtool.
Recently if you search in youtube or here in xda forums or in other forum site like talk.sonymobile.com, you can see 100s of people getting this problem. May be there is some charging or battery bug on 4.4.4 which get's triggered with some combination. My two devices are semibricked and this cannot be co incidence.
If you have similar stories or if you have any solution to this problem , Please post below.

From what i see, it may be a H/W issue for u with the battery.. I do experience "No green LED" when connected in flashmode, but no battery drain drastically or anything, but i think urs is an awkward co-incidence of both phones having battery drains.. Did u flash any other fw's like 4.3 or 4.2? Do u still have the same issue? If so, i advice to get ur battery replaced.. For confirmation, check your battery health.. Press *#*#7378423#*#* and enter Service tests..

By using sony mobile battery test , on moth mobile I get same error as quickstyler . But his fix didn't work .. Temperature outsidelimit 15-40°c
Battery temperature minus -30°

Buddy, did u clean install all the ROMs u tried? Format system, data, cache and dalvik cache and then install.. Plus u need to caliberate ur battery, i.e charge to 100% and use the phone til it shuts down.. Doing this for 3-5 charge cycles will caliberate the battery usage.. Try that and see..

Thanks for the reply
I clean installed the rom using cwm ( Factory data, wiping dalvik cache, data, system etc) , Clean installed using flash tool, Eveything I tried.
May be these are the three problem that lies in my mobile
1 Bootlolader corrupted ...
2 Corrupted partition.
3 And last I can confirm based on the other thread... Issue with battery connector to the motherboard. There is a fix provided by quickstyler in help & toubleshooting section ( Charging bug hadware fix) ... But that didn't solve the battery issue either.

I found i possible solution but i dont have the entire information
some users of Xperia (C6605) Z are welding a wire from the battery to the mb because the connector of the battery is cheap and dont transmits the necessary information about the temperature and percentage. (the connector is the same)
So my problem is, where is this point in to mb that we have to weld?
Any help??

Battery Drain Issue on every ROM

Hi, I buy a new GT-I9305 a few days ago. It came to me with 4.4.4 XEO. The battery is working excelent on this stock. I decided to root, so I do it. After rooting, I flashed Philz recovery, and flash PAC 4.4.4. The battery is working excelent, too. Two, or three days later I flashed unofficial CM 12. It is alpha, so I want to back to stock. I used ODIN, and firmware from sammobile. After this my battery can drain from 100% to 90% in a few minutes. I tried every custom ROM, nothing works. The issue is only occurs when I using the phone. If the screen off, the battery behaves normally. So, I don't think it's wakelocks. If the synch, GPS, WIFI, and radio are off, still the same issue. What can I do to stop this ? Thanks for any help. Sorry for bad english

Here is the pit http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1423031&d=1350946504
And for stock rom go here sammobile.com
Try this
discharge fully.. when phone is 3% or lower or higher so below 10& delete battery stats file..
file is in:data/system/batterystats.bin
then discharge until the phone power off
charge fully without unplug the charger
DO THIS THREE TIMES DURING THIS TIMES YOU MUSTN'T FLASH ANY ROM
if you want change rom do the process with new rom

Deleting battery stats.bin do not solve battery drain issue.it's software or may be a hardware problem
May be buying a new battery can be the solution.
I'm think the solution is Charge Rate. I choosen 1100 mA instead of 1000mA and battery is working very well.
