Satnav alternatives to Tomtom6

Hi,
What other satnav applications exist for WM6 ?
I know of Memory Map which is good for on foot.
I juust wondered whether Navman etc have PocketPC versions.
...or indeed if there are conversions/emulators etc
- Destinator 7
- Navigon Mobile Navigator 6
- Garmin Mobile XT
- iGo 2006+
- MioMap 3.3
- Route 66 Navigate 7
- Smart2Go 4
- Medion GoPal 3.0 AE
etc.
Sascha
...do any of the above stand out from the crowd ? i.e. clever features and especially non-restrictive use with POIs for everyday things like supermarkets / petrol stations as well as active POI for safety camera warnings ?

Destinator 7 too slow

Hi,
Is anyone here running Destinator 7 (forced to VGA) with a ~200MB map?
I got an updated map to Brazil (2008.q2) and Destinator now runs like installed in an 100mhz device...
It's true that with the map used before (just my City - São Paulo - 50mb) it was not so fast (Tomtom runs much more smooth but has older maps).
Any idea to optimize it? If i move the main app to internal memory make a great diference?
Thanks for the help Bros.

i have the same problem with tt7. recalculating takes too long.
more than 10 seconds. (which is long when you have to know when to take the alternative turn if you take a wrong one)
I'm a bit frustated with the GPS usage in Diamond
The best map for my country is Destinator compatible but the program itself runs very slow (almost not usable).
The second best map is Igo 2006 compatible but i cant make any navigation software based on its core run in Diamond (igo2006, MioMap3.3, onCourseNav, V7... )
The 3rd choice is TomTom7 but the map has some errors in some regions (downtown) of my City so i dont trust in it anymore.
I'm trying Garmin XT V4 this week. But i guess the map is a little old and designed more to inter cities roads than to urban (streets and avenues)use.
Igo8 runs but dont have maps to my place.
So i dont have a good solution at the moment.
Is destinator 6 more light that the 7 version? Is it deservs a try?

Sat nav

Is there any sat nav software for the wings that can be used with a blue tooth gps receiver?
Thanks
Route 66, tomtom mobile 5 (outdated), sygic mcguider (my personal choice) and probably some other ones, like iGo.
@spone1
I do use CoPilot with my Wings, but with my BlueAngel I use iGo8 but I thought it only worked with touchscreen??? How did you do that iGo and the Wings?

Navigation GPS "onboard" (europe maps + iceland / faroe ?)

Hello everyone.
I have a HTC Desire HD and I have some questions about GPS navigation software.
- I want a GPS navigation software "onboard" to not use the data to abroad, etc. ...
- My choice fell on two programs:
Copilot
or
Navigon
- Does Copilot and Navigon are "onboard"?
- Does Copilot and Navigon have maps from Iceland, Faroe Island?
And finally:
I guess the version europe should be approximately 2GB, is it necessary to download directly from the Android Market?
Thank you in advance for everything.
Regards.
I use MotoNav
it has everything you want.

Does iGo has maps for india?. I googled bt m not able to find ny.
Sent from my GT-I5801 using XDA App
You can also try Papago X5. Its working like a charm on Gingerbread.
Give a try to copilot
For me there´s no replacement for Garmin because of the lackage of detailed maps of my country for the mentioned gps software (Papago, Igo, etc). That´s why I´m stick on WM and using android SD
I tested Papago, it´s a good gps software but the only maps I found were very basic, so...
In fact, I´m considering buying an android phone and a cheap Garmin gps (like nuvi 205).
I use CoPilot, also bought the license .. its the best navigation !

iGO free on the market??? Where?
Otherwise, i like iGO a lot. Everything is like 20x faster than Garmin and interface is nice.
But still nowhere to beat Garmin. It will show your position only on roads, voice navigation is a bit weird and it's nowhere as customizable as garmin.
Garmin announced software for iOS, but it will be online, so why bother. They failed completely at smartphone area.
sygic aura for sure

Google
Let´s stay in family, why not to use Google Maps which includes Google Navigation...also you can download full Google Maps (and lots of other maps) with Locus (market free)...
For Google Navigation just search for BrutMod Maps here in xda, or flash Hyperdroid...
wow nice. I never used google navigation since it needed data (i don't have data plan) and was not availble in my country anyway.
Is there a way to cache POIs, so you can search through them without internet connection?
Co-Pilot is good for UK coverage and you can de-activate WM licence and re-activate it in Android.
It also has a real time traffic option (only cost me £10 per year)
Bought the USA version for holidays for $10 and same for USA traffic great value compared to buying a TOMTOM/Garmin device
Co-Pilot looks the same as well on android as WM so easy to use and you use androids keyboard rather than abcd keyboard on WM
I prefer it to WM TomTom tbh as it is multi touch even in WM but TomTom device's HD Traffic is the best I have seen
I second Copilot Live 8. US-only for Android is a mere $4.99 at alk.com. Other places are all reasonably priced. Works perfectly on my HD2/Android 2.2.1.
