[Q] HTC Bootloader Issue - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
So I will try to give as much info as I can!
I am trying to root my HTC ONE
In the proccess of unlocking the bootloader
I have got the phone into the fastboot mode by holding down the power and then down vol key, and pressed power key when bootloader shows up.
Then I get USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED I have installed HTC SYNC MANAGER and the htc drivers via the all in one tool-kit and the Android SDK stuff. I have re-installed of of these and the same issue occurs.
So I rebooted the phone back up to my PC and double checked my phone had USB Debugging on (we did)
So I try to use the HTC One all in one kit
It says cannot connect as more emulators connected
So i used adb kill-server then adb start-server (still doesnt work)
I am now just really lost, I have re-installed the driver, killed the server and checked all my settings
How do i get rid of this emulator so the HTC one all in one kit can work ?
Any other info I will provide thanks !!
Jonny

I used zedomaxs method to root mine.... Its slot easier and took 5 minutes

YouTube app error - related to Google Play services...?
Have installed the Sabsa v15.0 Rom for my Incredible S.
Works fine but the YouTube app refuses to sign-in. I get "an error ocurred" on opening, or on pressing sign-in. I've tried wiping the app cache, uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. I think it's related to Google Play services because the new Shazam app has a Google+ sign in option, but I can't sign in on that either because it says I need Google Play services and "Google play services are not compatiable on your device" -- not true, because I'm running GMail, Maps and all the rest fine.
One last thing that might also be related: 'Signed-apps' in the Google settings app tells me "Couldn't load apps, try again later.". I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google Play services. Can anyone suggest a solution.

I flashed PACman v21.0.0 with the selection of full wipe without sd card clear and now nothing shows up on my phone's screen after the HTC splash screen. The capacitive buttons and the notification/charging indicator light up and the phone was able to produce a notification. How can I fix this problem?
Oh I managed to fix the problem. Forgot that I could just boot the phone into recovery mode.

stuck on HTC logo after installing one generic vivo from htcdve
Hi. My rooted, s-off incredible s had an android ROM I did not like so I decided to go back to the HTC Android 4.0. I downloaded "One Generic Vivo" for Canada. I followed all instructions perfectly (hibernate/sleep off, HTC Synch installed, etc. etc.) HTC Synch found my phone. I launched the .exe on my laptop and followed instructions. It took ten m inutes then I reached the "success/congratulations screen. But my phone was simply displaying the HTC logo and the power and volume buttons were non-responsive. Taking out the battery and reinserting then re-starting did not help. Ditto a different battery. Pressing volume down and power brought me to the Revolutionary screen, but when I scroll down to "Recovery", it simply sends me back to the frozen logo. Ditto factory reset, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas? Please help! :crying:

Since you are S-OFF using Revolutionary, you cannot simply run an official RUU to return to stock. You have to "prepare" Revolutionary so that it's S-OFF HBOOT can be overwritten by the RUU.
There are several posts on how to remove Revolutionary S-OFF and return to stock in this forum.
ADB Devices Doesn’t show HTC Incredible S
Windows 7 x64 with AMD 6 core processor
First of all I have USB debugging on under developer options. And I have fastboot unchecked under power. Although I tried both the opposite. I have the connection type as “charge only” although I have tried all of them.
I have tried the HTC drivers by installing them numerous times. The device manager would not display Android phone using them. It shows Android USB Devices and underneath that My HTC when connected in fastboot mode. The USBDeview program shows that it is using HTC driver version 2.0.7.14.
By adding this line to the android_winusb.inf file under this section:
[Google.NTamd64]
;HTC Incredible S
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0&REV_0100
I am now able to display Android phone and underneath that Android ADB interface now. I could also choose Android Composite ADB Interface.
Have used USBDeview to uninstall device and reinstall drivers. Now USBDeview shows that I am connected with Android ADB Interface using Google driver version 7.0.0.1
I have uninstalled JDK and reinstalled it installing the 32 bit version first and then the 64 bit version and then reinstalling the ADB using adb manager.
I installed HTC Sync. Then uninstalled it.
I am using the back USB ports on my computer using an HTC cable but not the one that came with the phone.
When I start the ADB interface the process ADB.exe *32 starts. When I close my command prompt I usually end the process as it does not end by itself.
When I am in fastboot mode and to this command:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin the result is:
sending ‘unlocktoken' (0 KB) ...
Thats all I get.
Please help me solve this.

The firewall has been turned off for weeks.
The phone USB seems ok. I am able to do a HTC Sync with it and use the phone connection with the regular software. Only the ADB doesn't work. Could be a faulty phone usb though. I am using a cable from a newer HTC phone as I lost the cable that came with this incredible S.

I have the USBDebiew installed on my pc and it allows you to uninstall any USB connection. So I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers over 50 times trying to get it to work.
I seems like editing the android_winusb.inf file and adding this to the 2 relevant sections is the best I have come up with yet. I have been experimenting with different PIDs especially with the last line the SingleBootLoaderInterface because I found in this post
http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids
0fff Android Fastboot Bootloader - but I'm not sure if the SingleBootLoaderInterface refers to the Hboot interface or the fastboot interface.
;HTC Incredible S
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_off0
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0ff0&REV_0100
%SingleBootLoaderInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0fff
The HTC drivers seem to be hopeless. They only show in device manager My HTC and so I know they don't work. It is funny because the USBDeview shows a green light to the connection when I use the HTC drivers.
When I have the modified android_winusb.inf driver loaded the device manager shows Android Phone and underneath Android Composite ADB Interface but the connection light is magenta in USBDeview. One thing strange in USBDeview is that it shows the connection as drive G:
But drive letter G is not listed in the disk manager in windows nor can I connect to g on the device using adb. I have the connection on the phone set to charge only. When I use the modified android_winusb.inf driver it also shows in device manager hardware ids:
USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0&REV_0100
USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0
which appear to be correct and USBDeview lists the device as HTC Android Phone USB Device
The HTC drivers are at C:\Program Files (x 86) \HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Win7_x64\
androidusb.inf
I am assuming that they are using this line:
%MyHTC%=HTCAND64.Dev, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0
but for some reason they didn't have the &MI_01 at the end of the 0ff0. Not sure what the MI_01 does but all the other drivers have it except for the 0C81 and the 0fff.
When I use the HTC drivers in device manager it shows Android USB Devices and underneath My HTC. The hardware ids are the same,
USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0&REV_0100
USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF0
I just uninstalled every driver I had on the system so that when I plugged in the phone in fastboot mode it shows Other devices with an exclamation point I will go through the whole list of drivers again starting with HTC Sync.
I have reinstalled the ADB twice now. The last time I have installed it to cd c:\Android\sdk\platform-tools but I changed the path variable for the platform-tools and the tools folders.

Hi
Did you fastboot flash boot boot.img when you installed the ROM? What kernel version is displayed in settings?
Otherwise try a full wipe and reflash, and remember to flash your boot.img from the ROM

It says My HTC on device manager when plugged in.
It´s says wating-for-device when the fastboot client on the phone is not activated. Which leads me to belive you are not fastboot mode. When the phone is turned on as normal you can get there by typing "adb reboot bootloader". If you also have adb on your computer.
Or when turned off, hold power + volume down. This will enter the phone in bootloader state. Scroll with volume buttons to fastboot and press power to confirm. IF there is a usb connection when entering the bootloader the phone will automatically enter fastboot mode and the above navigation through the menu should not be needed.
There will be a red text declaring fastboot usb when you are set up.

That's not really helpful is it, why waste your time posting something like that?
Supremazy, usually when adb can't find your device and all drivers are installed correctly it means you don't have USB Debugging mode turned on in the developers option on the phone. Enable that and then try again.
Because there us a separate thread for this question

I'm just trying to root and even go s-off again but nothing is working l. Only command that works is , adb devices after that its no device found. adb commands only works from custom recovery or from a booted rom with usb debugging enabled
fastboot commands only works from bootloader
don't use toolkits, use fastboot and adb directly from a command window.
apart from the toolkit, if the drivers are correctly installed and your device is detected with "adb devices"/"fastboot devices" there is no reason other commands won't works.
you can also check nkk71's guide, there is guide in the FAQ to install drivers correctly.
You could also try to use adb and fastboot from a linux live cd/usb (ubuntu for example)
Most likely you just need to enable usb debugging in settings.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
USB debugging is enabled when I try this, all the tutorials ive read pretty much start with telling u that.
I've also used the command window to try troubleshoot why toolkit didn't work and same result.
When I try push a file like twrp I get no device attached.

DEAR FRIENDS,
NORMALLY IM NOT A HTC OWNER. I AM DOING THIS FOR MY FRIEND WHO DOESNT HAVE MUCH KNOWLEDGE ON PHONE OSs.

WHEN ON BOOTLOADER SCREEN I CAN SWITCH BETWEEN CHOICES WITH VOLUME BUTTONS. BUT WHEN I WANT TO CHOOSE AN OPTION, POWER BUTTON DOESNT WORK AND BOOTLOADER SCREEN FREEZES. 2ND PROBLEM IS, ALL METHODS HERE REQUIRE PHONE TO BE CONNECTED TO PC VIA USB, BUT IN NOWAY THIS PHONE IS RECOGNIZED BY THE PC (I'VE TRIED ON VARIOUS PCS WITH VARIOUS CABLES)
HOW DO I GET THIS PHONE RECOGNIZED BY PC? PLEASE HELP
Am having same issue but i can access fastboot mode and i can flash RUU as well but when i on power button only first screen comes and then phone turns off. And mine will be working only when i connected to power source like pc,laptop etc. Any tips?

Charge the device to fullest.
Download specific ruu for your device .
Extraxt the rom.zip from the RUU .
Rename the rom.zip to 0P6BIMG.zip.
Place it in sd card.
Boot into bootloader .
It will automatically read the ruu and there ia no need to press power button . have to press volume button to confirm.
After flashing RUU your device will be like new.

HTC one M7 no OS and recovery won't detect OTG and no fastboot usb

ello guys, I'm a proud owner of HTC one m7. Firstly Thank you guys for all the posts which helped me root my mobile and I use VIPER VENOM 9.0. Now I'm stuck with no OS, TWRP won't recognize OTG, tried to transfer files via ADB sideload but my PC won't recognize my phone and when I connect it through Fastboot I don't get the FASTBOOT USB :'(. Now I don't know want to do guys I need your help here guy's please.

Try to press volume down + power off buttons to enter fastboot mode.
You have to find a bright light, move your phone closer to the light, the light sensors should face the light, then press those buttons. I dont know why the light but it worked for me. I used a lamp as you can see in the aatachment.

Looks like something is wrong with the usb. If you can't get "FASTBOOT USB" to show in bootloader when your phone is connected, that's because it's not detecting any data connection with the computer. Make sure your usb cable works fine with other device (not only for charging but also for data transfer) or try another usb cable. Try another usb port on your computer and make sure to use usb 2.0 ports. Also make sure you have he latest drivers installed. If it's still not working after all this, maybe the phone usb port is damaged.,,
