How can check my htc one's firmware.I did "fastboot getvar all" but it stuck at "waiting for device "
Sounds like the htc drivers aren't installed

Htc sync manager does cause problems. You should be able to find just USB drivers

It says My HTC on device manager when plugged in.
It´s says wating-for-device when the fastboot client on the phone is not activated. Which leads me to belive you are not fastboot mode. When the phone is turned on as normal you can get there by typing "adb reboot bootloader". If you also have adb on your computer.
Or when turned off, hold power + volume down. This will enter the phone in bootloader state. Scroll with volume buttons to fastboot and press power to confirm. IF there is a usb connection when entering the bootloader the phone will automatically enter fastboot mode and the above navigation through the menu should not be needed.
There will be a red text declaring fastboot usb when you are set up.
Seriously...you should not be playing with devices as these...

That's not really helpful is it, why waste your time posting something like that?
Supremazy, usually when adb can't find your device and all drivers are installed correctly it means you don't have USB Debugging mode turned on in the developers option on the phone. Enable that and then try again.
Because there us a separate thread for this question

I've tried almost everything to my knowledge. I'm trying to use the instructions on HTCdev.com and when i get to the last page where I type in "fastboot oem get_identifier_token all that returns is <waiting for device>. USB debugging is enabled, I'm in charge only mode, I've uninstalled HTC sync after installing the drivers. I have the SDK tools installed and in the correct location. What the hell else could it be? I'm at my wits end here and looking for any help I can get.

lol. wrong section. but anyways. you need to be in bootloader.. power down. take off battery and put it back. then hold power and volum down till you go to bootloader. then enter fastboot. plug your phone in and you should see. fastboot usb. and then start the unlock process again.

I apologize for posting in the wrong section, I didn't realize I had posted it here, but instead of saying "fastboot USB" when plugged into the computer, it says "fastboot AC" does that make any difference?
Did you manage to get this sorted? You should be in the bootloader (which is in the HTCDev.com instructions)...

Your phone thinks its connected to a charger instead of a USB cable. Try changing cables or USB ports.

Hello All,
So I will try to give as much info as I can!
I am trying to root my HTC ONE
In the proccess of unlocking the bootloader
I have got the phone into the fastboot mode by holding down the power and then down vol key, and pressed power key when bootloader shows up.
Then I get USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED I have installed HTC SYNC MANAGER and the htc drivers via the all in one tool-kit and the Android SDK stuff. I have re-installed of of these and the same issue occurs.
So I rebooted the phone back up to my PC and double checked my phone had USB Debugging on (we did)
So I try to use the HTC One all in one kit
It says cannot connect as more emulators connected
So i used adb kill-server then adb start-server (still doesnt work)
I am now just really lost, I have re-installed the driver, killed the server and checked all my settings
How do i get rid of this emulator so the HTC one all in one kit can work ?
Any other info I will provide thanks !!
Jonny
I used zedomaxs method to root mine.... Its slot easier and took 5 minutes

Go in the bootloader, wait few seconds, put the usb cable in your phone, then in the pc, wait a few second and look in the top of the screen for 'HBOOT USB'.
Then select fastboot and wait untill 'FASTBOOT USB' on the top of the screen.

If in fastboot menu you can see 'FASTBOOT USB' it means that the drivers are installed, so you can use fastboot.exe without any trouble

No, the token id must be everytime the same, because there's just 1 id for every bootloader.

I went through the rooting/rom'ing process from another thread and skipped a step so I soft bricked the device. The Kindle will only boot to the blue KindleFire logo before stopping when powered on normally. I purchased a factory cable to get this corrected, and the kindle does go into fast boot mode, but the PC will not recognize the device. It shows up as an unknown device in Device Manager (Win 7)
* I've removed all kindle drives, rebooted computer and installed them again. No change
* I've used USB deview to remove everything and have the drivers install again
* I've tried to manually point the driver installation to a folder containing the correct drivers. Nothing. This PC as well as another Win 7 laptop I own simply refuse to detect the device.
Any other ideas?
As soon as you power it on(before the logo turns blue) keep holding volume up until it goes into recovery. It should be able to since it goes blue, also if you have issues with drivers try the knew in my signature, though if its saying unknown device instead of tate, jem or otter or something like that then that's not always a very food sign.

I've gone through the first link. There are no hidden devices in device manager for amazon. I went ahead and removed all unknown devices, tried various usb drivers through the forums and the Kindle is still not detected.
I have attempted to use the KFFirst Aid utility in the past. It gets stuck at waiting for device since neither the computer or adb detect the Kindle.
The second link you provided links to an original Kindle thread. Is this going to be a problem?

Did you switch from the fastboot cable to the regular one once it was in fastboot mode?

No, I had not tried that. I just did it and it made no difference. The device still doesnt show up under Device Manager and give the unrecognized device message during driver install.

I had similar problem with this and it was, surprisingly, the drivers, you'll need to install them after you connect the device in fastboot again. I thought that if the drivers are working fine when connecting with normal USB, they will work for fastboot too, but I was wrong.

Hi,
I am using Desire C for more than a year, and i have been using customs ROMs starting with Nameless. Recently I flashed NOPE Kernel, and installed Simplicity ROM, 4.1.2. After that i am not able to flash the boot image again. It is connecting properly when in connect to the system, but once i get into Bootloader mode, suddenly i get a message "Device not recognized", and i cannot connect anymore. I tried installing and re-installing all kinds of drivers available for Desire C and HTC, but no luck. Can anyone help on this issue... Please.....
Weirdness. What commands did you try? Type adb devices in CMD and if numbers come up then it is connected

It is supposed to say FASTBOOT USB. From the bootloader screen, select the fastboot option using your volume and power buttons.

Tried re-installing all the drivers... Checked out some forums, and downloaded HTC Drivers, installed, still not working...
When it reboots into BOOTLOADER, it doesn't show FASTBOOT USB, but when move up and down using volume keys, it shows FASTBOOT USB. Not returning anything for FASTBOOT DEVICES. Tried to flash, showing "waiting for device"... and after sometime, got the error "windows did not recognize the usb device"...
I have a flashable boot image zip file for HTC Explorer, tried changing the boot image, and flashed. No error message then, but still shows the old one itself....
So, can anyone help me by creating a flashable boot zip... I really need to change NOPE kernel...

Did You check Your USB cable? It could be that it is failing...
Other than that, connect your phone in fastboot mode, wait until error pops up, then do this:
Start command prompt (as administrator in windows 7, 8...) and type this (followed by enter):
Code:
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
and after that line, type this:
Code:
start devmgmt.msc
Now try and find devices with exclamation, there should be your android device. Now right click and uninstall it. Then plug out your phone, and plug it back in. If it doesnt't work after this, I'd say that all you can do then is to reinstall htc drivers.
