Hey guys, I really wanna have battery percentage on my GE Rom... can anyone make it so we can see battery percentage inside the battery logo
I use a free application from the Playstore called Battery Status, however that uses the left side of the statusbar rather than the right one.

Not inside the battery icon though. Some people like to save statusbar real estate for other icons. And you can't remove the graphical battery if you enable the text percentage, so then you're left with two things telling you how much battery you have.

Wow, these are exactly what I am looking for. Will these work for the 2.24.401.1 stock rooted rom? I'm new to android. Thanks!

No idea, but with my limited knowledge, I would like to say no? Would have to ask in that thread to find out
I am also looking for .zip flashable battery percentage icons for stock ROMs. I am not looking for a third party app, rather i want something that i can flash through recovery.
I know android now lets you have a percentage beside the battery indicator, but i want to have them both in one icon.
Is it because of the limitations on Sense 5 that such a package hasn't been made yet?

Is there any way to get the battery percentage as text inside the battery icon in the status bar with froyo?
the closest thing your looking for is battery indicator
Ok thanks.
So in other words, it is not yet possible to add this text to the battery icon in froyo yet?
not likely, unfortunately there is no real way to really edit the notification bar without rooting.
Yeah, sorry forgot to say that i am rooted
oh well in that case the possibilities are endless, im not rooted so im afraid my helping you ends here, lol

battery notify is the same, fully colored and free
I think that most people are waiting for the source being released to do tweaking on it.
I'm also looking for this!
Froyo just dropped on AOSP so it won't take long anymore
well got:
CyanogenMod-6.0.0 RC1
But no percentage in the battery indactor.
Any tips?
Edit:
Found it: Settings / Cyanogenmod settings/ userinterface/ battery and clock
Sorry to revive this, but was wondering if someone has something for this... I wanna keep the stock N1 ROM. Any suggestion?
Okay, so I rooted and installed Cyanogen earlier; what cool things can I do with root?
Also, wow. My phone feels so much more responsive now. Just an aside.

Currently using Cyanogen. There a list of apps for root or anything? That's really what I'm looking for.
Quick post: themes. Where do I get them? Are they the morphs in the themes and apps section?
Go to the themes section and read the morphs threads. Install metamorph from the market and go to town. I spent days with new black status bars, battery icons, etc. Check for black matte, or desire icons, its so nice.

Gotcha. Thanks!
to the OP
you know you will have a much shorter list if you refraised the title "list of things that you CANT do when rooted". being rooted lets you do anything you could want on a android phone.

True. I'm just wondering if there's a list of apps, common things to do, etc.
Also: Metamorph doesn't seem to be working for me? Trying to apply BlackMatte and it has been sitting on res-framework.apk for hours now.

You know the first time I tried to apply with metamorph it sat there forever, and I thought I did something wrong. I forced it closed, reboot, and then tried again and it worked.

Ah, should've thought of that. One more question: what app is it that puts a notification with battery temp, health, etc in the tray?
-------------------------------------
Sent via the XDA Tapatalk App
Well battery life widget is what many use, which puts temp, voltage, and percentage on a widget. Make sure you enable extended info in its settings.
I don't like the battery running in notification bar. I like a clean running status bar, so a home screen widget is better for me.
If you use cyanogen, percentage goes right over top of the battery icon itself.

I found the notification one, which I like except it places a second battery icon in the notification bar, instead of just the tray. I like the info in the tray though. Anything similar to that out there?

yeah well there is one that will put it in your notification bar, but i forget the name. and cyanogen puts the percentage on the actual batery icon. its in spare parts in the cyanogen ROM.
i find so many of them, but jest wonder who is the best apps that show the current battery percent, in the task bar or widget...
I actually use extended controls. It's a widget that looks like the standard android Power Control widget. You can customize it to have loads of controls and the battery percentage. I can't remember how much it is in the market, but its definitely worth it.

If there's a full root we could modify the framework-res.apk and get a modified battery icon in the notification bar. Way better..
My favorite: BattStatt. It's a widget for your screen. Has various sizes, and shows your battery in words.
Try BatteryIndicator
SwitchPro also does it, and worth getting anyway.
try this,
press screen or enter personalize,
chooseshortcut
then
settings
then
battery use
basic but good

I second this. Very simplistic and nice. Customizable so you can choose a color that suits your current background. Along with Tajm you'll have a nice clean setup on home screen or lock screen (Widgetlocker ($1.99) allows you to put widgets on the lockscreen along with custom sliders. I recommend a looksy).

No need to root or modify anything
just the apk you'll find there : Circular battery Indicator with % (No root required)
Works great on my DHD

Thanks from me too, it's great, just what I wanted!
BTW, as I said on the other thread, I just wonder if this (kind of) software could shorten battery life, having to do its duties to refresh all the time?

From the linked topic:
- the Circular Battery Indicator does not use a lot of battery resources, the device broadcasts a message when the battery status changes, the app catches this broadcast and update itself to show the right percentage, it is as simple as that, so it is extremely light weight on the CPU.

Oops, thanks, seems like I was a bit too lazy
I had read about the existence of this 'broadcast' system elsewhere, but I was worried because before of this app I used a widget (BatteryIcon if I remember) that had a 'refresh time' to choose in the settings and so I thought (that) app had to 'ask' the system the actual battery level every time. Seems like this one is much better developed so, good to be known, I like it very much, also the ability to have the 'battery use' page open in a bunch of seconds is just all I need

Hi!
How do I get a custom battery with percentage for the latest Virtuous Unity V3.9?
I tried UOT kitchen but it only crashed the ROM.. (probably did it wrong...) :/
Is it possible to get a custom battery file with a small tutorial?
Many Thanks
Not completely sure what your after, but I am currently on VU and using Battery Booster from the market place which adds a small battery percentage icon to my task bar. You can get a patch from here somewhere where the percentage is included in the stock battery symbol itself, therefore taking up less task bar spacem but you would have to search for this.
Hope that helps
Thanks
Thanks for the app reference!
It isnt bad although It less convenient than a patch which is what I was originally looking for. I'll try to look around till I find it but in the mean time the app will do.

Have a look at the link in my signature for various options all with transparent statusbar
I'm only looking to change the icon not my whole statusbar. What everything to look like stock but the battery icon just has the number percentage in it
Same stock battery icon but with the number percentage in it
