[Q] Kindle keeps turning on automatically - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted my kindle, then tried to use "nookcolor tools" app to select the swiftkey keyboard. I didn't change any settings using nookcolor, but I noticed my battery quit charging properly. I immediately uninstalled and the kindle began to charge again. But, now it turns on at random times during charging. Even if I shut down it reboots on its own. Any ideas on how to fix this glitch? I did notice the my battery app says the kindle has been charging for less than a minute when it reboots/turns on, almost like there is a break in the power supply.
Thanks,
Noob

My question is why you used Nookcolor Tools when it is for the Nook Color and not the Kindle Fire HD?

[Q] Kindle Fire HD - Replaced Battery

I opened kindle fire hd and replaced battery. Kindle was working fine but the old battery would not stay charged for more than an two hours unless plugged in, so I replaced battery. Kindle Fire powered on and new battery stayed charged all day but is stuck at the orange arrow swipe screen. I have done the hard boot by holding power button for 20 seconds and it reboots but still touch screen is unresponsive and also tried with it connected to laptop, no luck.

Is it possible that you unplugged or damaged the touchscreen controller?

I think i know what's going on here, In any KFHD if you charge the device using a wall charger with current output less than 1800mA The touch screen becomes unresponsive while charging, I think that's because the device rely completely on external power source instead of the battery during charging and if this power source is not enough the touch screen doesn't work, I think the battery you put in the KFHD has a lower current output than the original, Try replacing it. Also can you please take a picture of both batteries, make sure the text on the batteries is clear?
Thanks

I am having a similar problem. I had the same problem with the battery not holding a charge, so I bought a new battery. Now the new battery does not power the screen. If I want it bright enough to see, I need to have it plugged in. It started out flickering for a few seconds before becoming clear. After 4-5 days, the flickering doesn't go away.. I'm pretty sure I used the correct charger.

[Q] 7" Kindle Fire HD stock FW won't power on.

I've got a Kindle Fire HD with stock FW that will not power on.
I've measured across all of the red wires on the battery connector to ground and I am getting 4.14vdc so I am assuming the battery is fine.
While 'charging' the KFHD, it is only pulling 1.8w/.03a from the wall.
With the back side off of the kindle the CPU area gets warm, but the battery doesn't
I've tried holding the power button down for 20-30 seconds and it still does nothing.
Would it be possible to pull the battery and cut and splice a usb cable and wire it directly to the battery port on the KFHD's mobo and attempt to power it on that way to make sure that the mobo is good? If anyone has had a similar issue please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Sounds more like it's hard bricked, if it won't power on I'd most likely say the bootloader has something wrong with it. That can't exactly be fixed just her because we don't have the pin out of the emmc yet for the 7" HD model yet. If you can look it up there's a pin that if you from d it it would briefly show up as an omap device, if you can do that much at least then you could prove the motherboard works, but the omap device is useless because while on a kf1 we can use it to reflash the boot loader, on a kf2 we need a signed aboot that is signed by amazon to fix it.

[help]kindle fire hd 7 cm11

hello
awhile ago i successfully installed cm11 on the kindle fire hd 7. i used it for few weeks and then left it alone.i haven't used it for a couple months, so when i tried turning it on, the device would not get past the first kindle fire logo, then shuts off. its very weird, i left it for like a whole day on charge, and it randomly booted up and then shuts down. i tryed fastboot and after connecting it for couple seconds turns off as well. my conclusion that its charging , and mother board is still good, but wont boot past first kindle fire logo. its not bricked because the last time i used it, the device was running cm11 perfectly. can anyone help me out?

When you power it on and it turns off after the first Kindle Fire logo (the orange one), does it immediately turn back on? And when you plug in your fastboot cable, does it display "Kindle Fire fastboot"?
Sometimes it just stays turned off and other times it reboots again to orange logo and shuts off. When I plug in fastboot cable I see fastboot logo for couples seconds and then disappears
Battery sounds toasted

Kindle fire not charging but USB power working

So weird story...for a Kindle for free with smashed screen...replaced LCD. Plugged in the Kindle will stay on forever...(left on and plugged in 48 hrs or so after replacement). But the battery constantly shows its on red line. No indication it's charging. When unplugged the device will shut off in a few hours. So any thoughts? I'd understand not charging and not turning on...but not charging and turning on? Everything I seem to find only addresses the device not turning on and USB not working...sorry if this has been discussed and search didn't produce anything.
