I put my pda in bootloader mode. Serial v1.00 is what i see. I plug the USB cable in it and what i see is USB v1.00. I start romupdate.exe, but it cannot see the usb connection.
What am i doing wrong? I tried it on 2 pc's, both are not working.
Any help appreciated.
Nevermind, i forgot to kill the activesync process.
i hv dopod838 wwe , installed & run the lookiwz02a ( U & C ),
but when running romupdate, with activesync usb off, still romupdate won't recognize the usb. i also tried mtty with same result, usb not recognize.
It all started when my phone didnt connect to the pc with my own microusb cable anymore. After lots of reinstalling drivers i tried another usb port, now the phone did connect. In a rush i started up odin to flash standard firmware so i could get my warranty for the usb failure. Then during the flash the phone lost connection again and hardbricked. I can only get it to download mode but the phone has the usb problems mentioned before again, i cant connect to odin/kies/pc. all pc's told me that the usb driver could not be installed
try removing all usb drivers with usbdeview, make sure that KIES aint running in the background, boot phone into downloadmode, connect is and as soon as you'll see the yellow com-port sign; hit start (with the proper .tar files at pda/phone/csc).
only one way to find out =/
Thanks for the help but the problem is that the yellow com-port sign wont come because the device isn't recognized.
You have download mode but no USB .
Remove existing KIES and all USB drivers reboot reinstall KIES and try .
Not work try on a different PC .
But unless you have fixed the initial error you are wasting your time .
Initial Error you said >>>It all started when my phone didnt connect to the pc with my own >>>>> microusb cable <<<<<<<<<<<<< anymore

Tried another cable and another computer, still no connection. I think probably an internal failure in the phones motherboard?
So i want my original rom back and i want to use the SmartFLash method .
i did everything but when i plug the phone the com port is not filled ... what can i do ?
i tried to do the operation from another pc with APX driver but it was the same
any solutions?

did you hold the volume down button while plugging the usb cable into the mobile phone? did the pc report any usb device plugged in and what was going on with the mobiles display, did it show s/w updating or just the logo?

i hold vol down , the pc didn't report any usb device but the s/w updating it was showing on my display ... when the phone was plugged I entered in device manager and i saw something like : Others devices : Unknown device ...
did you install the apx drivers?
when i hold vol down and i plug usb the APX didn't appear. when i hold vol down + up and plug usb the apx driver appears and i installed it but let me say something
my current version is P999 and in SmartFlash it is saying : version p990
is this a problem ?
the problem is you cant install stuff from a p999 on a p990, tho the phone itself is the same, the partitions are different, if you succeeed in flashing your phone never try that again, at least thru nvflash, as soon as you get your phone going my advice is never flash anything if it isnt with cwm...
as for flashing it, as i told you the same thing happened to me, and i had to flash it from another pc, it wasnt easy tho because i had to insist lots and lots of times auntil i finaly succeeded because the phone wasnt recognised and or failed to flash most times
Ok So was running my custom rom and decided to return it to stock. PC odin keeps saying fail when I try to flash standard ICS Rom and then whenever I try to retry it my PC keeps saying USB Device is not recognized?? I uninstalled Samsung Kies and Samsung USB driver and reinstalled but still have the same problem?
My phone can get into download mode and also if I simply try to turn it on its says Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode and try in Kies & try again.
The standard rom I am trying to flash is called: N7000XXLQ2_N7000XXLPT_N7000XEULP4_HOME.tar.md5
And the version of PC Odin is Odin3 v3.04
Can anyone help as I am stuk at work without a phone
Forgot to say when I put it in download mode and connect the usb cable I get a pop up on my pc saying USB Device is not recognized.
it is due to bad usb connection
1 change usb cable.. may b it getting shorting inside ,, on rx tx
2 change usb port. do not relay on front cabinate usb if you are not using laptop.. use on board usb
after this two things should change or your motherboard is not producing enough power for device
try on another pc.. ofcourse of frend..
regards
skhan

i think you are having issues with your USB cable or USB jack . try plugging the cable several times / change the cable . after plugging the cable push the cable in upward and downward direction in the jack . i was having same issue , turned out it was cable . Hope it helped

Thanks for your reply. I can assure you it's not jack problem. I know mobile hardware I opened the mobile and jack is as it should be. I've tried 5 or 6 different cables . I think it has something to do with driver or some software
