[Q] Will this work our Beauty? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774503
Can I use this?
[APP][TOROPLUS][10/12/12] Sprint Diagnostics - PRL Manager - MSL Getter - Other win

Did you try DLing it and using it..can't even DL, it's domain is off...

Probably not, as it is designed to be installed in the system, instead of as a user app, and since it is in the gs4 forum, I would assume that our system is different enough from theirs to cause at least an fc, if not bigger issues.

There's another way that works on our phone

Security app?

My friend has a jailbroken iPhone and has a really cool app called Cylay (if you don't know what it is, Google it. In essence, it's an anti-theft app that can do a bunch of cool stuff). I was wondering if there was an equivalent in the Market (I refuse to call it by its new name)?

A good one is SeekDroid.
It is on sale right now, you can locate phone, track it on a map, wipe the phone, etc. I think it is one worth looking at.
Preyproject.com has an app for android.
Actually, your HTC Sense account can do all that remote lock or wipe your phone, as well as geolocate via the website. It just has to be set up properly.

Well then, how do I "set it up properly"?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
I wouldn't go the HTC Sense route, they sent out an email telling me to download my data because it's shutting down for a overhaul. Google it, you'll see. Besides it says it doesn't support ICS at this time anyways.
I have SeekDroid & Avast installed on my Vivid. SeekDroid you can control from internet or another phone, Avast can only be done via another phone, but has more features.

HTC no longer supports these features through htcsense.com.

That's the one! I've tried it and even went on to pretend my phone was lost/stolen, and was able to locate on a map on my laptop with and without GPS active. I think its awesome. Also its free if you use for 1 device (or one device per account).

Wheres my Droid pro is pretty nice, you can lock, unlock, make ring, locate, wipe phone, wipe SD, sim lock, and there's more stuff I just can't remember.
Oh and you can do this all via text message commands from any phone that texts, maybe even from sending a text via Facebook, or the wheres my Droid website if you set up commander.

Working Tether without root (not wireless)

The Klink app works great with the HTC one for tethering without root.
It does require you to set it up on the computer you're tethering with, and the phone.
Long time lurker and I haven't hit the post requirement for link posting, just search Klink in the play store.
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, if so please let the post sink and disregard it.
I just purchased based on your opinion..it's Pretty good ..thanks

It appears you can usb tether with sense too, just need to install HTC sync manager and enable usb sync in the phone settings.
I didn't bother installing HTC sync manager, so couldn't confirm yet. But information seems that it'll work.

If this is true I just wasted 5 bucks lol..But best thing about this app is the function of appearing as a mobile device to your carrier

I am glad USB tethering works. I have been using EasyTether on my Moto Photon for about 1.5 years without a single problem. very stable.
It's my first time hearing of Klink.... is it stable?

I like it because of the mimic mode it produces because carriers see it as a mobile device,no complains from my carrier yet lol (supposed illegal tether) :banghead:

Encrypting my data

I'm thinking of encrypting my phone. Are there any issues associated with it other than the pin input during boot?
I'm also not rooted and I use helium for my backups. Any compatibility issues?
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
I've never done this before and only know 1 person who's done this. I didn't get much info but he did mention it drastically slowing down his phone. He was using the Motorola atrix 4g, which is a runt compared to the One. Slow performance may not be an issue for us.

Continued phone issues

How many times can one return a phone for replacement for the same issue? At some point can I request a different device? I'm on my second "one" and it has the same connectivity issues my first one had. Can I at some point ask for a different phone.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
You sure its the phone and not issues with the network ? Where I work, we only allow a total of 3 (original, swap, and another swap)
Sent from my HTC ONE from Tapatalk 2
It's already been replaced once. Where I live I have pretty good service, but there are times when I drop my connection while I have a good connection. What happens after the third replacement?

You haven't described the type of issue that you're having. Remember, the bars only indicate voice signal strength.

3 swaps within 1 year. This would be through Asurion. At the Sprint store they will swap it 3 times before offering you a comparable model. If you want to keep the same phone then they can swap it as many times, in store, as you would like.

I can be using various apps like poker F.B or even the browser. Take the internet for instance. I can be using it and at any time it will loose connection. Same with playing poker. While I usually get connected within a minute, it's still annoying. I can't tell that I have good connection cause when it is on it loads pages fairly quick.

I get that a lot on my Note 2. Usually its the phone switching back and forth from ehrpd to 1xrtt. Either your towers are being worked on or are over capacity like mine.. Worst data experience ever. After 10yrs I might bite the bullet and switch carriers, can't take it any longer..
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Until your area is complete or a Radio update is released your phone will continue to act like this..Only way I could make mine stable was to run it in CDMA mode only and completely ignore 4G until more towers fill the gaps.

I get the same issue and have come to find a workaround that fixes it. This only works for 3G, but if you switch your network settings from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only you won't have any issues. I never get the issues that you explain while on 4G, but I constantly get them on 3G. Get that fix a try and let me know if it works :good:
Go into settings them power and turn off data sleep.

Call sprint. Have them verify your SIM ID and UICC ID under settings/about/Phone Identity. Make sure they have the same number on your account as the phone. They may argue with you that the number doesn't matter accept for International but make them check anyways. If you have 4G in your area it will matter.....or even if its just Network Vision. Just keep pressing them to verify. If they are different have them connect you to activation's and have them fix it.

Just switched from s4

I run stock, but, I'm rooted and s-off, main reason is WiFi tether, after that is just to fix little bugs here and there, the awesome devs here usually fix them before HTC even knows about them..

I always root for wifi tether and ad blockers. Usually run stock roms.
The "gain" quite simply is root access to be able to run certain apps that u cant run without root. Some people take it further than others. Your not gunna change the world if u root your phone
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Root =
Wi-Fi tether
Remove bloat ware (Sprint apks)
Ad blockers
Create backup
Prevent ota (so you can do them as you choose)
Kicks / customization
The sky is the limit
Root = more options.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4
keep flashing custom and stock
custom gives me android 4.3 which i want but it has a couple bugs so i keep going back to stock haha.

As biggy said, We can't change the world unless we change ourselves.
We cant root the phone unless we root ourselves.
