I'm thinking of encrypting my phone. Are there any issues associated with it other than the pin input during boot?
I'm also not rooted and I use helium for my backups. Any compatibility issues?

I've never done this before and only know 1 person who's done this. I didn't get much info but he did mention it drastically slowing down his phone. He was using the Motorola atrix 4g, which is a runt compared to the One. Slow performance may not be an issue for us.

I'm just curious if anyone else is having an issue with their data dropping out on a stock D3.
Sent from my Incredible 2 HD using Tapatalk
Mine has been fine. What ROM stock are you running? The very first ROM that Verizon released is buggy but doihg an update to 5.6.890 is a good idea.

I believe she is currently running that.

Then you need to call Verizon Tech Support and tell them the exact issue from another phone besides the one ailing. A couple simple suggestions: do a *228 options 1 and 2, and make sure it is set to Home Only on roaming. Another possibility is the battery saver data manager is running and making it so it shuts off data during specific times and comes on when the screen is on. Make sure the wireless isn't set to Global but CDMA only.

We tried all of that. Thanks for the suggestions though. Nothing seems to work though. We just got this phone like a week ago because her other was doing the same thing. The new one did it while I was on the phone activating it lol. She's tired of it and I'm tired of hearing the complaints so I told her to sell it because she wants an iPhone.

Well best of luck to you then. Not sure why your going to an iphone if you "need something to mod bigtime" though. Is there that much you can do to mod an iphone? Maybe I'm just uninformed. Also, sorry, I can hijacked your thread didn't I...
Sorry i wasnt very clear as i was driving lol. But the things that i like to do most with my phones im unable to do on this droid 4. One of my older phones was the htc hd2 and ran the core cell rom which was badass. Being that d4 will never see an unlocked bootloader means that modding will be minimum. I may be misunderstanding so please correct me if im wrong.
Sent from my DROID4 using xda premium
And hijacked? No not at all. Im trying to gather as much info as possible about what my future options may be with this phone if i were to keep it. I love everything about it. Iphone has an app via cydia called udidfaker that allows certain game players to run multiple accounts from one device. Android is unable as far as i know

Don't drive and text, man.
There isn't actually that much that can be done with an iphone. Basically you have custom themes, jailbroken apps and free apps(if you're into that kind of thing) not much else.
As a motorcyclist, seriously, don't do it. I don't care if you wind up with an iPhone or a Droid4, but I don't want to wind up on your hood.
Honestly speaking i dont text and drive. I do service work and will usually wait till my next stop to even read them much less type and drive. I was just being silly. And i too ride. So everyone plz chill.

On another note. I found a trader for my droid for their iphone 4. The iphone 4 is a 3g phone and requires a micro sim. I believe my droid also uses a micro sim so can i use my 4g micro sim in the iphone 4 which is 3g?

Yup, but don't expect for the iPhone to work on Verizon, since they don't have a 3G GSM network.

What do i need to do to get it to work. Verizon sells iphone 4 and 4s models and it says it will run on their 3g network.

I'm pretty sure you'd need a Verizon version of the phone. Those ones have the cdma radio you're looking for.

It is a verizon iphone. My question is if i can use my micro sim from my droid in the iphone 4 since it also uses micro sim. Only diff is droid sim is 4g and iphones are 3g phones. Do i have to get a new sim?
Sent from my DROID4 using xda premium
The MicroSim on the Droid is a LTE SIMcard. The SIM Slot on the iphone is only for use abroad. The iphone does not have 4G LTE capabilities. You might want to consider a new support forum to get all your questions answered on your iphone. Android power users don't like to deal with dumbphones.

Distracted driving isn't something to be silly about, it's a very serious problem in today's culture.
Did u not see where i said i dont text and drive? That i make plenty of stops in a day to not have to read or respond to my texts immediately?
Read a bit closer next time before feeling the need to open your mouth and comment on something that you dont know is true or not. I said i was being silly by saying i was a master texter. Then also said that i dont text and drive and explained why. Get with it bud!

Since updating to the OTA .246, I noticed when I boot up the logo no longer shows the dual core , it only shows the M ...
Every time I boot up, I lose my XDA shortcut on my home screen. What issues are others experiencing..
I had some weird data issues with wifi enabled. I would lose internet connection, but still have a white 4g/wifi icon showing a connected socket. Turned wifi off and no more problems. Haven't tried playing with it beyond that yet. It might have been a fluke.
Not sure if that was an issue in the leaks, as I never used wifi until very recently. I am grandfathered into an unlimited 4g data plan, so I rarely use wifi.

One thing I've noticed is that I get better battery life using wifi so I began using wifi more often while I'm at home. I have unlimited data also but like extending the battery. I'm a heavy user so battery life is important.

That's been my recent line of logic as well. I've confirmed my wifi is problematic though, and already covered it in another 246 thread, so won't crosspost it here.

I've not had any bugs, which may be due to the fact that I performed a Factory Data Reset as some suggested immediately after installing the update. Maybe try it?

You sure the data problem while wifi is running isn't the new Smart Actions app disabling the data?

Since update I have not experienced any problems or issues what so ever.
I have rooted .246 ICS on a safe side and CM10 JB on the unsafe side. There few issues on JB, but I don't really care. I am switching between ICS and JB routinely, depending on my desert cravings.

I've been having the same issues and I know it's not smart actions. I have smart actions set up perfect. I have a lot of data issues on wifi only.like for instance just nOw, trying to open the Play Store, I keep getting the notification 'background data needs to be enabled' and option to enable it, and it takes me to my accounts and sync page. I've had lots of data issues on wifi. Not to mention, my battery won't charge past 80%, there is a frame around my screen at all times that won't go away, and after I switched to Swype the notification in the bar keeps asking me to select my input method.

[APP][TOROPLUS][10/12/12] Sprint Diagnostics - PRL Manager - MSL Getter - Other win
Did you try DLing it and using it..can't even DL, it's domain is off...
Probably not, as it is designed to be installed in the system, instead of as a user app, and since it is in the gs4 forum, I would assume that our system is different enough from theirs to cause at least an fc, if not bigger issues.

How many times can one return a phone for replacement for the same issue? At some point can I request a different device? I'm on my second "one" and it has the same connectivity issues my first one had. Can I at some point ask for a different phone.

You sure its the phone and not issues with the network ? Where I work, we only allow a total of 3 (original, swap, and another swap)

It's already been replaced once. Where I live I have pretty good service, but there are times when I drop my connection while I have a good connection. What happens after the third replacement?

You haven't described the type of issue that you're having. Remember, the bars only indicate voice signal strength.

3 swaps within 1 year. This would be through Asurion. At the Sprint store they will swap it 3 times before offering you a comparable model. If you want to keep the same phone then they can swap it as many times, in store, as you would like.

I can be using various apps like poker F.B or even the browser. Take the internet for instance. I can be using it and at any time it will loose connection. Same with playing poker. While I usually get connected within a minute, it's still annoying. I can't tell that I have good connection cause when it is on it loads pages fairly quick.

I get that a lot on my Note 2. Usually its the phone switching back and forth from ehrpd to 1xrtt. Either your towers are being worked on or are over capacity like mine.. Worst data experience ever. After 10yrs I might bite the bullet and switch carriers, can't take it any longer..

Until your area is complete or a Radio update is released your phone will continue to act like this..Only way I could make mine stable was to run it in CDMA mode only and completely ignore 4G until more towers fill the gaps.

I get the same issue and have come to find a workaround that fixes it. This only works for 3G, but if you switch your network settings from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only you won't have any issues. I never get the issues that you explain while on 4G, but I constantly get them on 3G. Get that fix a try and let me know if it works :good:
Go into settings them power and turn off data sleep.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Call sprint. Have them verify your SIM ID and UICC ID under settings/about/Phone Identity. Make sure they have the same number on your account as the phone. They may argue with you that the number doesn't matter accept for International but make them check anyways. If you have 4G in your area it will matter.....or even if its just Network Vision. Just keep pressing them to verify. If they are different have them connect you to activation's and have them fix it.
