5: Restored my backup
6: Flashed normal recovery
7: Relocked my bootloader

Hi there,
Not long ago i got a P970 and proceeded to root it and install CWM on my device using an all in one solution from this site, unfortunately it didn't seem to create a backup of the stock bootloader and i am unable to perform updates to the device as they all try to boot in to the stock bootloader to finish the update process which is ofc missing, does anyone have a copy of the stock bootloader for the P970, incase its of relevance i'm using one in the UK on the Orange network
I thank you in advance for any replies
Bump anyone got a copy of the bootloader?
If you flash stock vanilla rom it will overwrite CWM with stock.

Couple of small issues is that i dont want to lose everything i've installed and setup so far and the only images i can find of the stock ROM's are .kdz files which use the LG tools to flash and those require me to be able to boot to the standard software update tool found on the phone which doesn't seem to work with CWM installed as i can't do any OTA updates either.
dude, I already answered to you by pm. this cannot be saved, you have to flash again to recover the standard loader. AND, you don't have to boot or something else except going in s/w mode. just backup your apps / datas with 3nd party app then restore them after the flash. standard recovery is absolutely uneeded and is even useless. you might restore full datas with cwm by going into the advanced menu.

That mismatch happen because of bad backup I think. You can if you are on other stock based or on CM10.1. For CM10.2 and CM11 ROMs you must repartiton preload partition to be able to do that. HOW.

It is possible.
that md5 sum mismatch you had on different phone was most probably related to corrupted backup file - not related with current ROM installed as long as backup is not cross recovery (CWM / TWRP).
I have lost one backup same way due to corrupted files.
To be sure that it will work you can try to restore backup just after it was created - if it will work, then it should work later on.
if you will be trying CM11 revert procedure is a bit more tricky (as /preload partition is used differently than in stock):
it might need odin flash of stock, install CoCore, restore backup
EDIT ... or faster way presented by shut_down ;]

I had tried this on galaxy fit ,but there also i got same problem and i had to use odin to get stock back ... i don't want to go over the same pls help me.my phone is hanging a lot and i cant stay on stock so pls help me
To be sure it is not corrupted backup file you can perform restore backup just after it was created.
If it is corrupted due to some reason it will not work from the beginning.
If it go smooth you are sure that you got correct backup - just store it some place safe (not on crappy SD that might go corrupt over time or sth ...)
At that point it is safe to assume it will work as system restore point from any custom ROM back to state of when it was made (official JB with cocore and all your apps / contacts / messages / etc already in place) - with exception of CM10.2 and CM11 ROMS (and those that are based on them) as explained already - those ROMs would need one extra step before reverting (but it is still possible, just not as straight forward as on other ROMs)
Can I just unroot without installing stock ROM over the existing stock ROM?
Thanks very much in advance.
Details:
-rooted only, stock rom
-never flashed rom before
-model i9305
(earlier on I was stuck on samsung logo after reseting while still rooted, but I solved that by going to stock recovery to run its factory reset.)
Eventually I went the usual way and installed stock rom. took 5 hours to download and fortunately it was correct stock so all good now.
Install Super SU from Google Play and go into settings and choose Permanent Unroot
I recently started flashing custom roms. The most common trouble that comes is how to get back to stock rom. Anyone please give a detailed procedure how to get back to stock rom from flashing stock recovery to flashing stock rom...
Thank you

1.Download the stock rom from letv forum
2.If you r on Codeworkx TWRP, install Chinese TWRP by ycjeson
3.Then install the stock zip file (19s). First time you may get error, flash again the same file.
4.It asks whether to install stock rom, give yes.
5.Now your phone will be with stock rom and recovery. with bootloader locked.
If this helped ..hit thanks
Stock Recovery given by rishab rao :

Stock Rom :
https://devs-lab.com/download-letv-official-stock-rom.html#Le_2_Qualcomm_Stock_ROM
rename the downloaded stock rom to update.zip and then place it in the root directory of internal storage
flash stock recovery and click the update option
you'll get an error but try again
That's it!
Better take a twrp back up soon after you flash the stock rom just in case.
Hi,
i want to root my phone using this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/recovery-root-mm-575-lb-t3418714
but i want to be able to return to the current state so i want to double check that i don't forget to backup things, so my noob questions:
1. Is there anything i need to backup before rooting (besides my user data (aka images, musik, sms, etc.) obviously)
2. When rooted i can use TWRP to backup partitions but then there is also this Backup-TA tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598. Does it do something that TWRP does not?
3. When i flashed a custom rom, can i use a TWRP backup to return to stock rom? (or do i need a seperate tool to backup my exact stock rom or is there another way to restore the original stock rom via the offical sony update server or so)
4. Can i unroot my phone and remove all traces from SuperSu, TWRP, custom roms, busybox, etc.? Which tools can i use for that? (This loops back to my first question, since the rooting script already installs SuperSu, TWRP and busybox i wonder if i need to backup a partition with these things not installed)
5. When i have backuped all the stuff can i install custom roms and restore the drm things to work with the custom rom (mainly the camera algorithms)?
Thanks for the help, i once installed custom roms on my old galaxy ace and i didn't backup anything and regretted it XD, so that's why this time i ask beforhand to be on the safe side.
