[Q] Will a Goldcard let me install any RUU? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My question is: will a goldcard let me install any other RUU with a version 2.17? Or do i need to get S-OFF so i can change my CID?
Background - First time posting here - please forgive any breaches in etiquette. I bought an HTC One 802w (China Unicom variant - CID HTCCN703) but when i opened it up I saw it doesn't have google apps - so i thought i have to root it. I unlocked the bootloader and rooted successfully (first time i've done this), then installed CWM and a mod to change blinkfeed to english language sources.
All was well until i installed a mod to give me Advance Power Menu - without reading the instructions carefully enough http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190384
Now my device won't get past a boot screen - "android" in very small letters with a moving highlight like it's made of shiny metal). I have USB debugging on and FastBoot mode on as well.
I have the stock recovery and firmware files for 1.12.1402.2, but recently upgraded to Android 4.2.2 so now my software main version is 2.17.1402.2 I've been reading like crazy about this and have created a goldcard using flashgc. My plan was to get another RUU file for another carrier - preferably not a chinese one (can't read Chinese)
I've been trying to use revone to gain S-OFF while in CWM recovery mode but to no avail so far - getting error = 1 all the time.

Goldcards only work if you have an actual SD card you can hack with a hex editor. With S-Off you can change to any CID, and you don't need to be rooted or have an unlocked bootloader to attempt an S-Off. Revone works only when your phone is booted.
What you can do now is probably flash over your current ROM with something like ARHD, get it working at least then use revone to S-Off. Then do whatever you want

Hey - thanks for the quick reply. I've tried to flash the firmware to my SD card using ADB, but it failed. I suspected because the firmware is for version 1.12.1402.2 but my phone is now 2.17.1402.2. Would that cause a failure?

What I'd do is download any RUU (preferably 1.29), go S-OFF and SuperCID so I can install it without having to worry about CID and MID mismatches.
Revone's method to S-OFF: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
SuperCID: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317536
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315319
The second one is much, much easier and you don't have to be booted into the phone or anything, just bootloader.
Setup ADB using this: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-set-up-android-adb-and-fastboot-on-windows-tutorial/
Make sure you have HTC Sync Manager installed on your computer for the proper drivers.

What do you mean by tried to flash it? Did you try sideloading or pushing it in recovery? And which recovery do you have installed?

You can sideload a whole ROM zip through recovery, then install that from recovery itself. Once you have a working phone, proceed to S-Off, change your CID then flash a RUU if you want

S-Off issues... need help!

i apologize in advance for the noob issues... I am having issues trying to achieve s-off on my htc one. i am rooted right now, running stock 4.3 GPE rom. I have TWRP recovery installed. everything works perfectly. however i would like to do a complete conversion so i will recieve OTA updates from google, and not have to worry about flashing roms. so when i first tried to achieve s-off , i was using revone method. i was getting an error code (-1) then i read that that method wouldnt work, if you were running 4.3. so i then restored my nandroid backup, which i was running 4.1.2. but before flashing my backup i did a system wipe, just to be safe. so i tried revone method again. only now i get error code (-6) so i gave up. but i think when i did my system wipe , i lost my stock back up? so my 2 questions are, where is my nandroid backup? did i lose it when i did a system wipe? and how can i achieve s-off? i am not sure how to tell what firmware version i am running, i didnt see it in settings anywhere, nor do i know what hboot i have (1.44 or 1.54?) how do i tell? thanks guys!

Ok sir, I try to help you.
First, you need to have knowledge with ADB and fastboot, but you should have them both in a folder since you unlocked your device through HTCdev. Then open a terminal and navigate to this particular folder. When you connected your HTC One M7 with the computer and UNINSTALLED HTCSync you can type "adb devices" to ensure you have a connection to your cell phone. Then you have to boot into the bootloader with this command "adb reboot bootloader" and there you see on the first couple of lines your HBOOT version. You'll see it! Then you boot into the recovery from the bootloader and install a ROM from this side that matches a version of rumrunner s off: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.ch/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
Secondly then getting updates from Google you need to proceed these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781
This will turn your device into a Google Play Edition!

that helps some, lol. so i now know how to find out what hboot version i have (i'm assuming that because i have 4.3 i am running hboot 1.54).... so thank you! i saw the rumrunner thread for the latest s-off. i will proceed with those steps... as far as completing the full google play conversion that actually sounds pretty easy once you have s-off. i can handle that. ( change cid to googl0001 and flash the new ruu, and stock recovery done!)
so now i just need to know what firmware version i have?
did i delete my back up when i did a system wipe?
To reiterate...
I am on hboot 1.44, rooted running a stock GPE 4.3 Rom. Also, I feel stupid, but I can't seem to find out what firmware version I have? So I have tried twice with no avail. First I tried the typical revone method , but i was getting an error code -1, because I was on 4.3. So I flashed my backup, and returned to my stock rom on 4.1.2, and tried again. This time I was getting an error code -6? So I temporarely gave up, until I saw the rumrunner method here on xda. Worst part is when I returned to stock, I did a system wipe before flashing back to my 4.3 GPE rom, and deleted my backup! So I am nervous about flashing anything else, being that I dont have a backup! Long story short, all I want to do is finish a complete GPE conversion, and I need s-off to change my CID. At this point, all I need to do is achieve s-off, flash the GPE CID, and then flash a stock recovery and I'm done! So any thoughts on how to help me achieve s-off without potentionally bricking this thing?
edit: my build number is JWR66Y.H1 , does this mean I am on 3.07.1700.1

boot to bootloader -> FASTBOOT, connect your phone to PC and it will change to FASTBOOT USB (picture attached)
then type "fastboot getvar all" and post it (remove IMEI and s/n before posting), also post the date it shows on that white screen.

will do, as soon as I get home!
however if I flash a stock rom like the one I have attached, couldnt I just use revone method (./revone -P)?

Why don't you use a RUU and flash the stock recovery, so you can recieve OTA updates and then you can just choose the correct rumrunner s off file and let it do the work. Then you don't really have to worry about the version number and btw. you can simply look it up in the settings. Can you pls ask if I didn't explane it well? Because this is very probable^^

[SOLVED][Q] Hboot 1.54, S-ON - Debrand, receive ota, without htc-dev unlock

Hello,
probably silly question and you will order me to study xda.
Unfortunately, i have came through almost every single topic, and can't get to "move" from my situation.
I received Htc One with Hboot v 1.54.000, locked bootloader - S-ON.
Software number 2.24.111.5 (android 4.2.2 with Sense 5). My cid (read through CidGetter from playstore) - T-MOB101.
I am trying to avoid unlocking bootloader via htc-dev, as afaik it voids the warranty.
I am not interested in custom roms. Rather, i would like to "fool" the phone and make it like it was European distribution, with no branding, so i would receive OTA as anyone else with unbranded phone.
If i understood correctly, to achieve this, basically i need to change my CID to european or supercid, which will enable to install any ruu from htc. But european otas would be enough for me. To change cid, i need S-OFF, right ?
There are basically three methods, if i read correctly, right ?
1, Revone - doesn't work with Hboot 1.54
2, Moonshine - Works without htc-dev unlocking, but installs custom bootloader, which will disable otas to install.
3, Rumrunner - Works with 1.54 bootloader, but i need to htc dev unlock ?
So, am i understanding correctly, that as long as i dont want to htc dev unlock, i am stuck to my cid, and dependent from german t-mobile ? So i can only hope, some dev will find exploit in Hboot 1.54 ?
Isn't there any miracle, that could help to solve my problem ?
Thanks
Rumrunners is the only solution with an htc dev unlock...
If you will remove the cid and put an european is the best thing to do.
You can always put the locked string
Yes,
but Htc will know, that i requested unlock keys.
Won't be that problem ?
Also, does htc-dev unlock automatically mean warranty void ?

Yeah, i know that htc will know, but i never had a problem.
When i had the Evo 3D i unlocked with htcdev and after s-offed, so i relocked and s-on for warranty e no prob
MY friends with this phone didn't had any problem with warranty also with an unlocked with htcdev...
Remusator - I'm looking for the same thing: I have UK orange firmware, and was hoping to get stock/unbranded CID so I can get regular OTAs. Please let me know if you figure it out
Desperately waiting and hoping for some dev to soff without dev.
Today an arcticle came through my hands, saying "Unlocked htc one - kitkat till end of the month". Still don't have even Jelly :/
Is someone working on this ? Please

Hello, thanks for answer. :good:
If i agree to unlock my bootloader, could i achieve things mentioned in first post ?
Could you please give me some more detailed guide (alternatively steps with topic links), which i need to proceed ?
Al i need is to fool the phone to think, that it's unlocked and receive ota's like any other european unlocked htc one.
Thanks

OK, European unbranded:
1- get s-off: http://rumrunner.us/ (follow instructions !)
2- change CID to European unbranded such as HTC__001
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001 <- two underscores
3- I assume your model number (MID) is already PN0710000
4- remove TAMPERED, and set your phone back to LOCKED, you can use this tool from within CWM recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527194
5- Run the following RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
after the above, your phone will not be fooled into thinking it's European unbranded, it will be European unbranded, and you'll receive the OTAs.
Let me know if you need more explanations, and hit the thanks button if I've helped
Hello, thanks.
However, i am completely stock. So i don't have CWM recovery yet.
In which step will i get it ? Or am i missing something ?
Also, CID change - is it really so easy ? I have seen some guides where people needed to download, edit and then flash some hex files.

OK, so before point 1 above:
a) use HTCdev to unlock
b) download CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863 and flash it in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7ul.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> enter recovery
c) for rumrunner to work, you need a close to stock rom with root access, so get one from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/, probably this one should work: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-111-3-zip/
you need to push that to your phone:
adb push <name of rom>.zip /data/media/ <- this will take 5 to 10 minutes without any progress bar, then report success
d) in CWM recovery, now select "install zip" -> "choose zip" and flash the rom
If you're using the Guru Reset ROM, then select WIPE, select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery"
and then proceed to rumrunner
"Also, CID change - is it really so easy ?" <- yes with S-off, it is easy, and you wont have any hex-editing to do, now or in future OTAs

What hboot version, son/soff, unlocked/locked.
And what recovery ? Original, or cwm ?

the phone will be unTAMPERED, LOCKED (not relocked), 100% out-of-the box European unbranded, HTC Sense 5 ROM v1.28.401.7, but you'll receive OTAs up to 4.3 I think.
recovery will be stock recovery not CWM, so you can receive OTA
The phone will remain S-Off, and I suggest keeping it, if YOU INSIST on going S-On you can do so after running the RUU, but before taking any OTAs, by using "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3"

Ok, just to make sure.
When will be CWM recovery replaced with original one ? After running RUU ?
I definitely don't insist on S-ON. My warranty will be void anyways because of htc-dev unlock. And in case my phone would break down, i need S-OFF to restore everything to original.
Are there any security risks when i'm S-OFF ? Such as malware android applications etc ? As i have understood, no.
Can / should i take some full backup of my original rom, device, bootloader, recovery in case that something goes totally wrong ?
Many many thanks

No security issues whatsoever, S-Off will only allow you to write to certain partitions you can't with S-On. The ROM (Android 4.x.x) is responsible for the malware etc.

Yeah, su is required for rumrunner.
Yes, htcguru file use that command.
After the flash of recovery, a nandroid will backup only the OS.
For the sd you've to copy it into your pc.

1- Yes you need root
2- the link you provided only works if you are S-Off already
3- backup everything to PC (pics, music, etc)
4- use Call Logs Backup & Restore and SMS Backup & Restore if you need them (free apps in Play Store)
5- use Helium for apps+data, since you can't use Titanium
6- backup ROM using nandroid
7- dont worry too much about the nandroid, there are ones on @crushalots site

Hello, i cannot get through this point. I have installed HTC Sync, then uninstalled, so only drivers remained on my system.
I can use adb when the phone is normally booted, but then i don't have permission to write to that location.
When i reboot to recovery, adb devices shows empty list. Also that funny thing in windows taskbar starts spinning, finds "One", but fail to install driver.
Update1:
Ok, i managed to update adb driver to Android one. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830108 device manager section)
Now i'm at next step. I pushed zip to /data/media/, but after choosing install zip, there is none on sdcard.
Trying to push that again.
Update2:
File appeared after second push. Installing right now. Hope phone will wake after this procedure. Fingers crossed, holding breath.
Update3
Ok, i flashed RUU, everything is fine until now.
Slovak language / Slovakia as location is missing. Should / can i change my CID for something and install corresponding RUU for that CID, so i would have Slovak Language ? I also get red text saying "THIS IS TEST DEVICE...."
I think, the correct CID for my region is HTC__032 - East Europe
What is the language dependent on ? Because the same RUU you recommended for me is also for HTC__032. Is the file same and languages are allowed based on CID, or how does this work ?
Also HTC_001 is in the first wave of updates ?
Thanks
delete pls

[Q] update issue

Hello all I am a noob getting into the game, I am trying to get my m7 to update with no luck. I have an AT&T branded One running on versio 1.26.502.15 . I have tried all the little tricks to get it to find them, but nadda. I have been reading into all the resets, RUUs, and OTAs and honestly I'm just more confused. From what I read about manually installing OTAs, I haven't been able to find the right one to upgrade my version. I just want to get up to date with Android and Sense. If anybody could just point me in the right direction I would be so thankful. If there's any other info needed I'll get it up here.

do you have adb and fastboot installed on your computer? If yes, post the output of fastboot getvar all except the imei # and the serialno #
at&t phone must be connected to the at&t network to receive ota update, are you on at&t?
manually installing ota update require s-off, your phone is currently s-on. good new is its "pretty easy" to s-off on hboot 1.44, ok maybe not that easy for a new user but you should be able to s-off if you need to by following revone s-off guide.
if you are not on at&t network:
easiest solution (imo):
unlock the bootloader (this void warranty)
flash twrp recovery 2.6.3.3
flash the guru reset rom 5.12.502.2
or
more complicated but better (imo):
unlock bootloader
flash twrp recovery 2.6.3.3
root
s-off using revone
flash the latest ruu (4.18.502.7)
manually flash ota updates from 4.18.502.7 to 5.12.502.2
update issue
Thank you for the info I don't have adb fastboot installed guess I'll need to start there, I am using the new cricket gsm network which if I'm correct uses AT&T towers but I guess that's why I was unable to get the updates because I'm not actually on AT&T. Will I still need to get s-off with the first solution or not ? Thanks again for the help, I'll get on it and let you know how it goes.

Could you tell me where to find the 5.12.502.2 reset Rom, I went to HTC guru and could not find it in the list, also what are your thoughts on the twrp 2.7, I read a few comments about it and seemed like people were having trouble with it on their One's, I wondered if it would be better to have the new version or if I should just stick with the other one. Thanks again for the help.

better to stick with 2.6.3.3 or 2.6.3.4 unless you want to experiment. there is a charging bug with 2.7.0.0 and it looks like there are also some other bugs with 2.7.1.0 for flashing roms, not sure if it was solved in 2.7.1.1. use 2.6.3.3 or .3.4 and youll be fine.
and no, you dont need s-off to use the reset rom. but a reset rom will not update all the firmware, you'll get an updated rom(software), on the hardware side, only recovery and radio will be updated (if you choose to flash stock radio and recovery at the reset rom installation). hboot will not be updated using this solution.
do a nandroid backup of your current config, just in case you need to restore if something goes wrong.

After lots and lots of research into this before doing I've decided to go with viperone custom Rom, if I understand it right I won't have to mess with s-off for this, please correct me if I'm wrong. But I have found some conflicting instructions, I read somewhere that I will have to copy the boot.img from the Rom and flash it before flashing the Rom then others without that step, so I'm confused, I wanna male sure I do this right the first time. Also are there any files that I need to have updated before flashing a 4.4 sense 6 custom Rom or will it all be included in the Rom?
Thank you

Hi there
Been a long time since I've posted and hope I'm in the right place. Did a search for my question and wound up here.
My phone is stock and s-on, I haven't done anything to it, it's exactly the same as when it came out the box, but I haven't been able to update the software in settings>about>software updates for a while now, it just keeps coming back with download unsuccessful. Any ideas how I can sort this, or do it another way?
Thanks in advance

[Q] using RUU on HTC One M8 HK

I have a rooted htc one m8 hk edition with S-On, I would like to install the new update that sprint rolled out so I was thinking about using the RUU from another thread here. My question is, since I have the HK edition can i install the RUU without S-Off? I noticed that SuperCID was required for the non hk version only and was not required for my version. Is this correct? Also will the RUU return me to 100% stock? I couldn't post this in the RUU thread itself due to being new to xda, sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks!

You can use the RUU with S-ON as long as it is not an older version than what is already on your phone - I believe you are probably talking about 1.54.654.9 right? Check the about settings on your phone to see if you have upgraded from that (1.54.654.13 or 1.54.654.15 or the 2.16 something).
If the phone version is newer, you will not be able to use the RUU without S-OFF. Since you actually have the HK version, you will not need to change your CID. Successfully running the RUU will flash all the major partions, radios, and more and will bring you completely back to stock. It will also wipe your data/media partition (internal SC card) so make sure you backup anything you need to keep.
Thank you so much for your response it was exactly what I needed. If I wanted to remove the tampered flag could I do it before flashing the RUU? Or will that get removed along with the root in the process? Thanks again!

The RUU will actually remove the TAMPERED banner because that flag is in mmcblk0p6, named "pg2fs", which is one of the images that the RUU overwrites. UNLOCKED, if you have it, will remain because that flag is mmcblk0p2, named "pg1fs" which does not get overwritten by the RUU. It can be removed by hex editing that block with an echo command http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708571
If you are already unlocked, rooted, and have version 1.54.654.9, I would highly suggest you run sunshine and get S-OFF before you run the RUU and update the OTAs; who knows if that exploit will be blocked in further updates.
I see, I'm running 1.54.654.15...can I still s-off with sunshine?

Not sure since I did it on .9, but I would definitely try it - in fact, if you are on 15, the only way you will be able to run the .9 RUU is if you S-OFF.
Sunshine will not ask you to pay until it has run compatibility tests and verified that it can get S-OFF on your phone - so run it and if you see the message to pay, you are good to go. Having S-OFF just makes things SO much easier.
Just follow the directions on the sunshine site http://theroot.ninja/ and run it entirely from the phone; couldn't be easier. You will need to sideload the APK, easiest if you just run the command "adb install SunShine-latest.apk" after making sure Unknown Sources is checked in your phone settings.
Wait a sec, I thought you said I could use the RUU as long as it was of an older version than the one I currently had..so I was thinking about the .9 RUU since I am on .15... That actually wouldn't work? Sorry I'm a bit confused.

It's the other way around - look a few posts up - there's a "not older than your phone's version" in front of that statement.
To be clear, the .9 RUU will not work on a .15 phone if you are S-ON, you must be S-OFF to do that. However, if you had a .15 RUU (which doesn't exist) it would work on a .9 phone.
Sorry about the confusion. That is just one of the benefits of being S-OFF (not to get sidetracked but my favorite benefit is being able to flash from hboot or fastboot rebootRUU with the bootloader locked)
Ah yes, I see that now- my mistake. I guess I'll s-off tomorrow afternoon then. Thank you very much for your help!

It's encouraging that the Sunshine devs recently made fixes to deal with Sprint 4.4.3 M8 devices - that's version 2.16.654.4 which is higher than yours, so I think you have a good chance of success. Good luck!
Are you sure that it wouldn't work on a phone that is already updated to a newer software?
I have been on the previous version (final 4.4.2 version), and I have certainly used the RUU to flash back to the .9 version. To my knowledge, the RUU should work regardless of which version that your phone is running. If you're S-On, you just have to be locked & using the stock recovery.

I'm fairly certain that if you're S-on you can only run a RUU with the same software & firmware version that's installed on the phone. It was that way on the EVO LTE and I'm fairly certain that's how it is now.

you may want to try http://firewater-soff.com/ first, if nogo, then sunshine

Oh ok...my apologies.
Is there a reason that my phone boots directly into the bootloader every time that I relock it?
I am unable to boot into anything after using fastboot oem lock, and it only loads the bootloader until I run the RUU (granted, this was before the latest update).
So I am S-On with a non-HK M8
I was on stock rooted 4.4.2 and I flashed the stock recovery and took the OTA
Now I am on 4.4.3 and still have SuperSU installed (not rooted)
Everything is working fine, but when I try to boot to recovery i get the red triangle with the !
Any suggestions?

The red triangle is indicative of the stock recovery, which was updated with everything else when you did the OTA. Being S-ON with SuperSU means you must have been UNLOCKED at one point - if you are still are UNLOCKED, simply flash custom recovery back onto your device. If not UNLOCKED (if you relocked for the OTA, which is not necessary if S-OFF, not sure about S-ON), you will need to HTCDEV unlock again before flashing the custom recovery.

When you download say TWRP from their webiste, you get an image file (IMG) that is meant to be flashed using fastboot from your computer. But you can rename it to "recovery.img", place that in a zip file along with an android.txt file with specific contents onto your external SD Card, and then you can flash it from the bootloader (if you are S-OFF). The file has to be specifically named as well - e.g., the Sprint HTC One M8 is "0P6BIMG.zip".
If you don't have an external SD Card, you may also be able to flash from the bootloader using a powered USB-OTG cable (like we did on the M7). Again, this is only if you are S-OFF, otherwise you will have to fastboot flash the image from your computer because bootloader flashes with S-ON have to be signed.
One last method that doesn't require S-OFF, is to copy the image file anywhere on internal or external SD cards, then use the "dd" command to copy the image over your recovery block (specific numeric device block depending on phone) using either your computer or a terminal emulator on the phone.
So yeah, you have options.
Update: I achieved S-Off as suggested, locked my boot loader using an adb command from another thread then ran the HK .9 RUU. I went through the 3 updates then took the phone to sprint, had no problems at all. Thanks for your help guys.

Roms with Aroma Installer never work. Suggestions?

My HTC One has all the necessary prerequisites for flashing Roms. I'm not sure how to check s-off though, but I think that's the case. I can flash Roms that do not use Aroma, but if the ROM contains Aroma there is no use. They all freeze at a certain point, I believe around some part that has to do with the System. For example, Maximus HD freezes at 1% when formatting something. Any help would be appreciated. I have looked a lot for the last few days, and can't seem to find an answer.

Okay so I'm assuming that you're flashing a kk rom here. Are you on the latest recovery and also on a kk base with the latest radios and hboot already on the device? Also make sure you're flashing the right rom for you're device. What device do you have? And also send the link to the rom you're trying to flash just so I can double check that it's correct as if it's freezing at 1% then all I can think that is the problem is you're either trying to flash a kk custom rom on a jb rom without updated firmware and radios or your recovery is out of date or the 3rd reason could simply be you're trying to flash the wrong rom for your phone.

That is the rom, It's Maximus HD. My hboot is 1.54, I'm not sure if my phone has the latest radios, but I have the latest TWRP recovery. 2.8.0.2 I think? I have the HTC One M7 for AT&T., but it says HTC One UL in the same screen I found the hboot. I believe the phone was converted to the GPE edition since it says GOOGL1 on the hboot screen. (I bought this second hand)
EDIT: I just want to add that Android Revolution HD yields the same results, but at 10%. And my phone is currently on a stock build of Sens 6 4.4.3, but the rom before it was GPE.

If you go into your bootloader you'll see under the **unlocked** message you'll see something that has the phone model and then ship and after ship it will say either s-on or s-off and for the ROM you're trying to flash you have to be s-off thankfully you're on hboot 1.54 so you can use rumrunner to gain s-off if you're not so check that

Redownloaded, same issue. My CID says CID-GOOGL1, could that be the issue? I heard that the CID is supposed to be something like 1111111 or something like that.

Yea that's actually what I was just about to say haha I just had to grab the links to the CID's so you can find the one for your phone as it's a converted gpe phone not a factory one which means you simply just need to go to the link I'll post here and find the RUU that is for at&t and the CID will be listed under the download link then you just need to change it.
Link for CID: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
Once you've found your CID listed in the link which I'll have a look myself to see if I can find it for you but you need to then go into terminal or cmd and type in:
adb reboot bootloader
adb oem writecid CWS__001
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
I changed the code so that it has the correct CID for you so just type in what I've typed there and you'll be back to normal and it should all flash fine

I always receive the red text saying it can't mount cache so don't worry it's not going to stop you from flashing that's just an issue that I have no idea what's causing it but cache is a temporary file anyway so it isn't going to affect installing a ROM well at least it hasn't for me
