Change folder background - Nexus 7 General

Hi there, I'm trying to set up a google now based home screen, but I'm left with one problem. Using Apex launcher I can't figure out how to change from a black folder background to a white one. Does anyone know of a file to change or an app to install to sort it out?
See the pic if you're not sure what I mean
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Miui/Galnet launcher

Hi all,
I've got a little question, i've update to Galnet v3.3 works fine,
but the scroller on the bottom (above the bottom buttons) has disappeared
any idea what I can do?
Cheers,
Wilco
Where did you find this "Galnet" launcher?
the Miui launcher does not have an app drawer. all of your apps will be in the home screens. If you dont like it, install another launcher
Galnet is the ROM you are using right? Do you mean the indicator which shows you which page you are on? It's theme dependant so try changing the theme.

Oh sorry for the confusion!
I updated my galnet rom and this had the standard miui launcher, other co workers have the same version and have the same launcher but at the bottom there is a slider normally do you can quickly
slide to the last home screen, that's gone
Cheers,
waw

[Q] Application Shortcuts within Dock

Anyone know how to place an application shortcut like a whatsapp contact into the dock/launcher bar? I was able to do this in stock jelly bean, but can't seem to figure this out in sense 5.

always 2 ways to do this on Android;
press and hold (on home screen and move to dock / on icon from app drawer)
click setting and choose edit
:good:
The problem is that when long pressing shortcuts from the home screen, the dock disappears making it impossible to move the app shortcut into the dock.

I understand an app can be added to the dock from the drawer, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to add a app shortcut (i.e. a direct contact) to the dock. For whatever reason, Sense treats these shortcuts like widgets, restricting them from being added to the dock. This is frustrating as I was able to do this in stock jelly bean.
You need to go to the app drawer and then pull the application you wanna replace from the dock to the drawer. Once you have done that you will have an empty space to add the app you want to add to the dock.

I hope they have a fix in the pipeline. I can't be the only person who uses this feature.

[Q] tonyp_4 ROM invisible widgets problem

Hi,
I'm having a problem with widgets and app icons on homescreens, after flashing ROM tonyp_4, latest build, had same problem with his build3 aswell...
Why all my widgets and app icons become invisible on main homescreen or any other homescreen when I try to add another widget or app icon on other empty homescreen? I have like 1 clock widget and 6 app icons in my main homescreen, number of homescreens is set to 3, and when I try to add anything on other 2 unused homescreens everything on main screen becomes invisible? It's still there, only invisible, I can still long-press widget for example and drag it around, but when I relise it, it's invisible again...
Any solutions?

Replace lock screen short cut icons?

Hi guys,
Is there a way to replace the icons used for short cuts on the sense 5 lock screen? Im using nova launcher with a custom icon pack and would LOVE the icons on the lock screen to match.
I would use a custom lock screen, but all the ones I've come across don't allow you to place a lock screen widget like NILS on the lock screen.
Thanks,
J

If you're rooted you can just swap out the icons in the apk's to the ones you want ... Make sure you open the apk with something like 7zip and drag in your new icons, that way you won't have to decompile the apk.
Is it possible without root?
I've seem some lock screen apps, but don't know how good they are.
There is an app in the play store that allows you to change your icons without rooting but I can't remember the name ... I've never used it so I couldn't vouch for it changing them on the lockscreen but I don't see why it wouldn't.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jy.iconchanger.ad&hl=en ... There's that app but I have no idea whether it would show icon changes on the lockscreen awsell, sorry.
This worked perfectly. I had to change the icons and then set them before activating nova launcher.

Glad the app worked for you guys

Change icons on dock?

Is there any way to change the icons on the dock? I use the Icon Changer app to change icons, but it can't put them on the dock. Anyone know of an app that can, or perhaps another easy way to do this?
Thanks!

I checked out the desktop visualizer app, and I like it. Thanks for the tip. It's a bit more refined than Icon Changer (that I was using).
The problem is, like Icon Changer, it creates the app on the homescreen... and I can't find any way to get those shortcuts onto the dock. I can only get shortcuts from the drawer to the dock. Am I missing something?
Try Unicon in the play store, it uses nova icon packs and themes the entire phone. Here is my lock screen

Nice app... but from what I can see it will only theme an entire icon pack. I just want to change one icon on the dock.
I'm assuming you're using the stock launcher? You could edit the application yourself but that's a hassle. Idk how else to help except to use a 3rd party launcher

Open up com.htc.resources.apk in /system/framework with winrar/7zip. Don't extract it, just open it.
Find the icon you want to change in the apk and re name the icon you're going to replace it with to whatever the name is in the apk.
Now once you drop your new icon in, you can try pushing the apk back using adb but I would recommend flashing it. I've always had problems with pushing edited framework files to the device. It usually causes tons of force closes.
Hope that helps a little. Pm me If need be.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling a might have to get in there and change it manually. I'm going to take a look at it and see if I can do it.
