Samsung S4 Active

What are your thoughts? Damn nice looking phone if this is in fact leakes pics of the Active. http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s4-active#comment-603498 What do you think?

not leaked photos, it was shown off at a cell phone convention in croatia

OK, not a leak per se, but pics nor info not released abroad by Samsung as of yet . So, what do you think? thoughts? I feel that this is what the regular S4 should have been....maybe with color choices.

I would be surprised if this comes to the U.S.

I've looked at those, but I'd like there to not be any any bulk to the phone. Right now i'm just rocking it naked with invisibleshield on the front and back, this has been the first time I could use a smartphone and feel like it's not too fragile to set on the table without a scratch getting on it. :good: If anything it would be awesome if there were replaceable backcovers in different colors, but i have yet to see anything.

There are some. Check out the accessories thread. There are leather ones and carbon fiber that I ha e seen so far. That's one benefit of this phone, we will probably have the most accessories next to maybe the iPhone.

My initial thoughts are the phone looks nice but don't like the physical buttons. Also, doubt that just because it has that coating on the phone the screen won't crack if dropped on concrete. In my mind having a good case is the only way to prevent certain things from happening and if I'm going to use a case then what is the point of a "rugged" phone.
This is just me and I understand others have different needs but that is my opinion on it.

I miss the days of my old Nokia 8260 when replacing housings were common. You dropped your phone, $10 and a few days later you had a new housing that was four screws away from making your phone like new. I suppose a tempered glass cover and tpu cover and replaceable battery covers are about as minimalist with good coverage as you can get. And many of the 3rd party battery covers are two piece anyway with the plastic base and the insert that goes on it. So you get a little extra protection there as well.

not a big fan of those menu buttons. Phone looks nice. Samsung should have saved their fitness bloat for that phone. Up High :highfive:

HTC One 2014 Dock

Old dock for HTC one work with this years?

I'd love to know if there's a dock option too. My HTC Evo 4G LTE has gotten me spoiled with a simple drop in dock. Would love to have a similar dock for this phone.

The place for the mirco USB has moved slightly to the middle. So probably will not work

Also the seize is different so this won't even fit the old dock...

Yeah, I have a dock for the M7 and it obviously won't fit. I really hope some M8 docks start surfacing soon.

Where are you seeing it? Can you provide a link? I typed "HTC One M8" and saw several cases and screen protectors, but no docks.

God damn that's expensive, hope it drops in price.
Anyone know if this dock is case friendly? Was the M7 car dock case friendly? It looks like the phone has to be naked.
Slick dock though, love that slide in. Can't wait!!!

Actually, that's not entirely true.
For my m7 I used an EZO cradle/dock that came with a plate which fit inside the dock. When the plate is removed it allows for a case to be used on the phone.
It actually worked quite well for a variety of my cases.

I hope they updated it to fix some issues. with the same style HTC dock on the M7, phone would slide out of the dock easily. slid out many times on the first day, gave it away day 2.

My dock came in today. doesnt work unless you want to stare at the back of your phone. USB is backwards and says samsung on the box

I ordered the ARQ on Kickstarter, $19 USD.

Leather pouches

Anyone know of a leather pouch made for the M8 yet? I had a Sena case for my Note. I'm hoping I can find something for this as I really don't want to put such a nice phone in an ugly case.

Looks like it fits a bunch of devices..I don't trust it. My sena case was built specifically for my note, fit perfectly, and would never let my phone skip out on accident.

Yes i've been looking daily for a pouch.. (since i got the phone on 6 days ago lol)

It's originally for the HTC One M7. I use it with my Dot View case. It's a bit snug, but it fits. It's been working out a lot better after working it out for a few days. The package smell on the pouch is a little strong, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the look and build quality. FYI, it's a belt clip, not sure if that's what you're looking for.

I emailed sena cases about this.. they said they'd look into it if they get more attention about the phone. I'd suggest you guys do they same if you're interested. They already made cases for the older ones so hopefully they will for this too.

I just got a Krussel 5x case that's a little too big but works. Quality leather and I owned a 3x size with no problems.
I wonder if a 4x will work.

This pouch case is from Noreve. I have ordered many cases from this company and they have been super well made. And if there ever was an issue, they replaced mine without a problem. Highly recommend this company for quality and excellent fit.

Krussel's web site says the Hector 4xl is the right one for the M8, but according to the published interior dimensions it is 1.5mm short on width and height.

It has the mic hole. Just go to amazon and see the pics there. One of them shows the mic hole. I think the images are just computer graphics and that's why it might have been missed in a few sample pictures.

Look harder at the second pic. It does show a mic hole

The second pic only shows the metal band. The mic hole is a lot higher than that. Check your phones

We in the UK still don't have the V60 so I've had to import mine. Also we don't have many options for accessories! Any ideas for a pouch for the Dual Screen? Thanks in advance.

Nite ize make some really good ones that should be big enough to fit this phone. I Can provide you the link for two of their different ones that hard clamshell and the sideways XXL cases. There was a decent one I seen on eBay to for about $12 I can provide you the ebay link if you would like.

I've had one similar to that in the past for another phone and in my opinion it was just cheap junk and broke very easily.
if you want something of quick quality you're better off looking at the night Eyes the sideways case and also the hard clamshell both in the XXL size.
I seen a decent looking one on eBay this morning to for around $12 if you want any of the links I can get them for you.

I had one like that many years ago for a similar phone and in my opinion it was junk and did not last long. You better off going with something of really good quality such as Nite Ize. they make the sideways case pouch and also the hard clamshell one both in XXL sizes. I also seen something on eBay this morning for about $12 in a different brand that look to be of good decent quality. If you want I'd be happy to provide you links for these?
