[q] please help my htc one have system error? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is my 7th time in experiencing this problem to my HTC ONE (Silver), there will be a time once I scroll up to refresh my blink feed, my HTC ONE will get lagged and will keep on blinking and going back to home screen. It will be like blinking and going back to home screen then blink blink blink blink screen...
What I did was to screen lock first to stop the "blinking and going back to home screen", then back up my data and settings through my Google Account and factory reset. In this way, the issue of "blinking and going back to home screen" will be fixed. But after 2 days or so, there will come a time that it will happened again.
I also tried restarting and power off the phone and boot it again, but it didn't work... I sent my HTC ONE to HTC Service Center and what they did is they "hard reset" and "reformat" my phone's system. They told me to observe first if it will persist or happen again.. It lasts for 3 weeks and then it happened again...
Anyone experienced this issue? please help guys... it is so annoying and hassle on my part to factory reset my phone from time to time just to solve this issue.. please help.. ... My HTC ONE is HTC_PN071 ...
Thanks,
Dexter

what did you do *before* your diamond stopped turning on?? unless you had a completely unpredicted system meltdown of your diamond for injecting it with super high voltage. it is rare for it to not power off unless you did something ... so please elaborate so we can assist better.
Ok, yesterday i use the phone like anothe normal day, in the night i turn off the phone, and in the morning, when i tried to turn on, i have this problem, for example, when a tried to do a soft, hard reset, the screen is in black, when a conect the phone to the usb the screen is black, is, i left the phone alone, in 3 minutes the black screen again, i don´t know why.
any LED activity when plugged into USB?
I think it is a major manufacture problem
I had the same problem, taking out the battery waiting a while and inserting it back, will solve the problem for some time but it will happen again.
Finally I sent it to the HTC support center.
I don't understand why HTC didn't recall.
If you'll search this forum you'll see the same problem in different stages, some times it's a blank screen but the phone will ring and some are just freeze.
Hi, I've had my Diamond for about a month soon and it started earlier this week by not wanting to come on at all. Been taking out the battery for a few days but eventually got fed up and did a hardware reset tonight. Not long after that it just suddenly turned itself off and I couldn't get it back on again. I thought I'd pack it back into the box it came in and send it back tomorrow and took out the sim card. After that it came to life again.
Happened to get a call after that and that call was suddenly disconnected without any reason.
So I am not very happy with this phone at the moment. Would appreciate any advice or if you know for sure it can't be sorted maybe I should send it back and ask for another one?

Nothing, but one time the pc detect the phone, but later nothing.
No Led activity either on mine when it went dead.
When the Phone goes dead, try cooling the phone down as much as possible, and try starting it up again.....
There is a problem with the HTC Diamond in that it can cook itself (excessive heat), due to the auto over temp function crashing and not switching off the phone..... (That's what I have been told at least...)
I know over around 5 Diamonds so far that have had this issue, where the symptoms slowly get worse...
Have a look at this thread....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2905775#post2905775
PLEASE P.M. me if you have any of the symptoms described in the thread...
I have been TRYING to get my Diamond fixed under warranty now for 2 months with little success... And I kinda need to know how wide spread this problem is to proceed any further.
could not turn on after blank screen ...
Hello,
I've had the same issue as rmorera, and after I hard reseted the phone all went o.k.. BUT after I reinstalled part of the small apps I use, the phone started to go off again. So, the problem seems to be in the software ...
I believe the cause might be the SRS WOW which I use. I installed the .cab, then the .reg file provided (ufortunatelly I don't remember from which thread I got the files ...). And shortly after, the phone stopped working. I uninstalled the software, and now it works! Could it be that the SRS WoW did this?
I tried to reinstall the SRS WoW and I found that if enabled for "Internal (Stereo)" instead of "Headphones" it gets my phone shut when the WM blanks the screen. If I select the "Headphones" options the issue seems to disappear.
Still, the SRS WoW damages the volume buttons action, but I think this issue is on another thread ...

HTC Touch Diamond won't turn on

Hello, I know there are many posts about dead Diamonds but I think my situation is different. I went to sleep one night and left my HTC to charge from my PC's USB. It was charging correctly because I noticed the light around the center button. All good. When I woke up, the charging light was still present and I unplugged the phone from the USB and the light was still surrounding the center button. The screen wouldn't turn on so I had to remove the battery. After I removed the battery and place it again in my HTC, it didn't want to turn on... I have tried to recharge it but the light doesn't flash anymore.. Not on my 220 socket, not on USB... I have a ROM found on this forum and been using it for 8 months with no problem... I just found my HTC froze at the charging step and removed the battery. After that it just won't start... I have managed two times to power on the device by it's normal power button but when it gets to the home screen, it freezes and I have to remove the battery again. It's been 7 days now and I can't power on once... Do you have any idea what happened ?
Thank you
If it keeps freezing at the home screen you are going to have to do a hard
re-set to unlock it. My Diamond froze at the home screen once when it was
new. I did a hard reset and it was fine after that. You will lose your data.

HELP! My htc dream won't stop restarting itself!

I have a Rogers HTC Dream. I've had it for months now. I recently upgraded it to the newest version (1.86).
I was just fiddling with a new app I downloaded - "shake alarm" (where you need to shake it to stop the alarm) from the market. to test it, I set an alarm within a minute. after I closed the phone, I put it on idle. then it started to restart itself and it won't stop!
I've taken the battery out many times to stop it but it still won't load properly!
can someone please help me?
Well, I think the only thing you may be able to do is to do a wipe. Turn on your phone by holding home and power. Release when the recovery screen comes up. Open the keyboard, press Alt + W
When that is done, you can press Home and Back to restart. This resets everything back to factory, you'll have to set everything back up. I think that your downloads will be saved the first time you load up Market, but they'll be gone after that, so try to install them all at one time (that's if they are saved).
hm, I tried but it won't let me past the HTC loading screen.
Urgent!
My HTC dream has the same problem, its keeps on restarting and doesn't let me get to the recovery screen. Can't downgrade using fast boot as well, as it from Singtel. It used to happen before but used to get ok once i'll take out the battery and boot it again but now it just keeps on restarting. Anybody with a solution?
Or can anybody tell me why its happening?

My One keep restarting and stuck at HTC screen

Hey guys,
So I have had my One more than a year, never root, never install any mod in it, just simple, daily use. It worked well till last night when some weird thing happened:
- At first, the Back, Home and HTC buttons keep flashing along with the screen. When I unlock my screen pass lock and go to the home screen, it showed a notification like "To restart the phone, keep pushing the power button for (x) second" with x is the count down number. After that, the phone is automatically rebooting, then the problem happen again.
- After a few times, I manage to shut it down properly then turn the phone up. As I notice, as long as I doing something with the phone such as calling somebody or checking facebook or simply sliding the home screen, thing is normal. But as I stopped using it, that weird notification pop up again
- The phone keep restarting after that, again and again. Sometime it boot successful, but when Im go to the home screen, the notification shows up and my phone restarts again. As I couldnt turn off my phone, it is drained and out of battery.
- This morning, I put the cable in and try to charge it, and My One now stuck at the first HTC logo screen then restarting and then stuck again. That looping process is drive me crazy. As I try to pull out the cable, the phone is not working (Obviously) since it is out of battery.
- As I hold down Power and Volume down, I can enter bootloader screen. I saw a "locked" banner and cannot navigate through the menu and can not press Fastboot or anything. After 2-3 seconds, the phone is shut down and keep looping.
Long story shot, can anybody tell me how to fix this. As I have a lot of pictures that havent been backed up, I really appreciate if I can keep everything without doing a factory reset. Oddly enough, I cant even do a factory reset since the bootloader is not working.
Please help.
Have you tried a factory reset?
On boot, bottom down n power will take u to fastboot.
You can do a factory reset from there.
HTC sync can save your stuff.

As I mentioned above, I can hardly do anything from that fastboot screen. Up, down and power button is not working as I cannot navigate to recovery or factory reset. Even pushing power button wont do.
When I connect the phone to PC, nothing happen. It is because the phone is out of battery i suppose?
The problem is when I start to charge the phone, it will keep looping. But if I dont, the phone is death and I cant do anything.
I honestly dont know. I suspect you have
Fast boot selected under Settings>power.
You've got to try till you can get into fastboot otherwise send it for repairs.

Because this is exactly the message we usually get when holding the power button for more then 5 sec...
and that would explain the reboot issue
looks like the "power" key is always active
definitively sounds like an hardware issue imo
and your issue is even present in bootloader what confirm that this is an hardware defect.

You'll probably have to send it for repair. Better to contact HTC and see how much it will cost...
