There are several guides on how to root the Desire C. I will let you search for them first, because that is the proper thing to do.
The challanges are setting up adb and losing your data while unlocking the bootloader.
Read the thread in my description and read the stickies for more information.
It has already been posted.

Again there is a step by step guide on how to root. Look for it. If not search for the All-In-One toolkit under Android development.
Learn to use the forum, please.

Hey,
I've been trying to root my HTC Sense/Hero by Alltel, but every method I try will not work. The main reason I intend to root my device is to be able to access and modify [flash] Apk applications, or android games.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

There are different methods, some more simple, what version you have?
if you mean andriod version... I have 2.2.2
Look for UPK 3.6 and from there you can root with Blackjack.
After the root process you won`t lose anything but the warranty.
Okay, will do. Thanks heaps!
rooting your phone is dangerous but once you have done it, you will get a chance to try different roms. In short, Its fun!!!

To the OP, always search for your question, it has no doubt been answered over and over again. Then, make sure you post your question in Q&A, not here in General.

1) That is completely wrong. Rooting will not decrease your battery life. It will happen if you over clock your phone. But the added performance will be worth it.
2) If you follow instructions properly, nothing will happen. If you face a problem, ask us. We will try to help.
I would suggest reading a lot about what rooting is and what rooting does before you decide to root.
And remember, rooting your phone will not make any difference. It is what you do 'after' rooting that makes the difference. Rooting is just getting permission to make changes.

Oh my god dude. Why do people take a forum for the google search bar?
Take this.
It doesnt get more detailed than that.
Now tell me was it that hard to use common sense and look at one of the 17(million) guides on how to do that?
I got root without problem....

Ok, first watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
I mean it seriously watch it then come back. Done? OK let's move on.
As you might have guessed, you have posted in the wrong section. Questions and help goes in the General forum for your device, this is development where people post their work. Also there are 2 or 3 threads in this section which explain how to root your device. So I recommend searching before posting. I will not post your solution, because you have to find it yourself, it's not hard at all (otherwise you and other new guys will never learn it and always keep asking the same questions over and over again)
XV 4.4?
