Is there any sure way of stopping these push notifications as they cost me £3 a time .
I have tried air push and it is clear but when I hold my finger on it to see what app is causing it , it just comes up with the sense messaging app and I cannot really uninstall that . Lol
Thanks in advance .

Root ur phone and uninstall the smspush.apk using link2sd
Or just disable it on
Messaging> settings>
Uncheck "sms push" and "cb activation"

Try Airpush Detector from Play.

Sorry there must be a simple way but i just cant find it, just shifted from an htc desire and i cant find a way to assign a ringtone to individual contacts.

You can only do it for contacts stored on the phone not google contacts sadly. You just long press a contact and then select edit and you can select ringtone.

I have contacts synced from an exchange server, guess same rule as google contacts apply.

Yeah probably.hopefully this will be remedied in froyo

It's a right pain in the arse... but if you want you can make a new contact on your phone or sim card using just the name!! add a ringtone, then edit, link contact, and link it to your exchange contact then it will work.. As I say a pain in the arse but the only way I found to give some of my gmail contact a ringtone!
I do not think that this is a froyo thing, ithis option was on htc desire before it was updated to 2.2, heck this ootion was on my winmo phones years ago.

When creating a new message, I keep getting prompted for where the app should search for recipients ... even though I have previously selected 'Contacts' and set that as the default.
I don't remember this happening before upgrading to ICS ...
It seems like my selection doesn't 'stick', but I haven't been able to find anything in Settings to set this or show what is currently set.
Any thoughts / suggestions ?
Thanks in advance,

Have seen this too hope someone has a fix

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know where I can get Samsungs stock taskmanager for CM 7.2 or at least one that works like it. I tried so many different taskmanager apps from the Play store but they all aren't good.

Firstly, Android 2.3+ doesnt need a task manager. However if it makes you feel happy I can find the Samsung one for you. People report it ruins your phone over time or something
Edit - Enjoy

Gingerbread has one that does it automatically. In app if you press home it runs in background and back kills it. Something like that. Google search task manager on Gingerbread.

Actually its a priority system, where apps u dont use for long get removed from memory automatically. The phone doesn't get damaged if u use a task manager, its just that ur phone will use more battery as it has to process that app all over again and ur loading time is ofc increased. But on mid - high end phones u don't need a task manager due to enormous amount of ram and fast processor. I do feel the need for a task manager cause i don't use my phone too much and background apps will drain my battery unnecessarily.
Edit: Here is a task manager. Just copy it to ur system/apps folder using a root browser and set permissions as all the apps present.
AW: Samsung Stock Taskmanager
Thx bro
I put your apk to /system/app and changed permissions to rw r r and now it works! First i tried this with wee0's apk but nothing happened But also thx to you!

i just reflashed a sense rom and now Blinkfeed is not showing up topics and services . i had this issue before , i know wiping the system will fix it . but just wondering if just wiping sense launcher in titanium will be enough ? anyone fixed it without a full wipe?
All I have ever heard of is unselected all services completely. Then add 1 and see if it works. If it does, then add all the rest.

On Custom ROMs it is an issue, when in the developer settings the animation is set to anything other than 1x.
