Hello All,
Recently I sold my Xperia Z and thought of trying my hands in WP8.. Loved the Lumia 720 so bought it.. but now I have a problem.. I had taken the backup of my contacts in XZ in .vcf file.. now I dont know how can i import those in lumia 720... Can someone help?:crying:
Importing them into the Microsoft (AKA Windows Live) account associated with the phone will work; I believe you can do that via the website (search for how if you need). Alternatively you could try emailing the .VCF file to your phone as an attachment and opening it on there; either the OS may know how to handle it already, or there might be a third-party app which handles that file type (the phone can search the Store for you to find such apps).

Is there anyway to migrate all contacts on my Galaxy Ace S5830 to N*K*A Symbian S60v3?
I have tried several ways to migrate it using KIES, MyPhone Explorer, MobileGo or using Backup Contact Apps on my android to Ovi Suite, PC Suite, but Ovi Suite & PC Suite can't read my backup contact file or exported contact file. So until today i still stuck on it. :crying::crying:
Maybe anyone knows how to migrate / copy it?
Possibly there is a software that can help?
Thank You Very Much

ANDROID TO NOKIA 2013
1) have your android sync contacts to Gmail, and nokia pc suite installed and nbuexplorer_v2.6.zip
2) go to gmail / contacts / select all contacts / export
3) select (i used “the group” not all contacts), and select format: “vcard”, click export, the file (contact.vcf) is created
4) open nbuexplorer and drag the contact.vcf file (yes drag and drop)
5) right click on contacts, export, select a folder, a lot of vcf files are created (for each contact)
6) open nokia suite or pc suite, plug your nokia in ovi mode, or pc suite mode, let it sync, install support, etc.
7) go to contacts, file, import, then select all the vcf files created, (yes all of them)
8) let it sync the phone, that is it, you have all your android contacts in nokia, even contacts with pics

"nokia pc suite"
You'll have to sync your contacts on your android phone..
After that there are two ways to send contacts..
1. Send your contacts using Share via Bluetooth option in the Contacts app itself..
Or
2. Copy all your contacts to your sim card and then place the sim card in the other phone and retrieve them.
What a bunch of morons here. Export contacts to your SIM card & use this SIM in the Nokia phone. That's all. Of course, some numbers might be lost.

I don't understand.
Yoy simply tallied me that i check all my contacts at nokia and send it via bluetooth to the galaxy ace mobile?
If i do that then it asked me for every contact what do to with it so it is a lot of contacts to tell it manually what to do with every one contact....
no need of such tedious methods
just log in to your gmail account from pc
go to contacts, and then import all your csv contacts to your gmail account
then add the google account in your phone and all the contacts will be synced
PS: edit the csv file as you need before uploading, i used a youtube video to help me out
I have the vcf file and i want to add it all together to my gmail i have syncronized with my android mobile or a program that can convert GREEK vcf files into one and only csv to add it to my gmail.
Is there any that kind of windows program?
A lot of thanks.
hi .
i ordered a lumia 720 i stil use a hd2 with windows mobile (yeah i know its old ) but my question is what is the easiest way to export the data from windows mobile (contacts , tekst message etc ) to a new wp8 device??
anyone any good ideas on how to do that ?
greets
Sadly, I'm not aware of any current way to export SMS in a format that can then be imported into WP8. WP8 does have a SMS backup/restore feature, but I haven't yet looked into uploading data from something other than a WP8 device to then get restored. It's worth investigating, though.
Contacts will automatically be imported if they are in the contact books of any EAS account (Hotmail/Exchange/Office365/Gmail) that you add to your WP8 device. For contacts which are purely on the phone, one option is to write them out to the SIM card, put the SIM in the new phone, and import them that way. Althernatively, Samsung (and possibly Nokia; I haven't checked) phones have an app for contact sharing via BlueTooth, though I'm not sure if WM6.5 supports exporting them that way.
Documents can be uploaded to SkyDrive and then synced down to the phone, and music/video/pictures can be synced using MTP over USB from any PC, but other data is likely going to be nigh-impossible to transfer right now.
Im desperate, i already spent two days to find a way how to import contacts to my lumia 520 with WP8 without using any cloud service like live, hotmail, google, etc. I had a diamond 2 with WM 6.5. I got my screen broken, only what i was able to do - syncing contacts with my computer. Now i have all the contacts in outlook, but i find no way how to import contacts to WP8 with no cloud. Pls. help. If there is a way how to import sms - ill be most happy man on that month
If you have WM 6.5 you can save/export contacts to vCard (*.vcf format) and copy to SD card. Next, you have to install Transfer my data and via this app you can import contacts from SD card.
With this aplication you can too transfer your contacts via bluetooth from your old phone.

I have no access to my old phone anymore. With broken display i have only outlook to be used as a source. Anyway, Transfer My Data app is working with bluetooth, no possibility to access SD card, which is in my case not a solution. Thanks for you effort.

Ok, here is the idea - is it possible to save VCF file to SD card on my laptop and use the laptop as source "mobile phone" via the application? On my laptop i have W7.
Im really getting angry on Microsoft. They always have to screw it up - they are so desperate for our private data.

Export your contacts from Outlook as a CSV. Then you can use Yahoo or Hotmail to import the CSV file. If it has the option to select CSV from Outlook make sure to use that option. It makes a difference if they specify. Whichever account you use you may want to clean your contact list because they will all be mixed in together. What I did was created a second Hotmail account and used that as my WP8 ID and for all of my MS Live account access. Imported my CSV file to that Hotmail account, then setup that Hotmail account on the phone contact list and everything imported in a few minutes. Hope it works for you as well as for me. I really prefer to use ATT address book but it wont work on my unlocked unbraded 520. If you can get ATT address book to work then that is by far an easier way. Login to https://addressbook.att.net/ and setup your account. I'm making the assumption that you have ATT as your provider. Once logged in and setup, import the CSV file there. Then open ATT address book app on your phone. Also set it up as your contact list in settings.
One other possible option: WP can import contacts from the SIM. SIM cards tend to only be able to store a really small number of contacts at once, so it may take several rounds of storing and importing, but it's a think you could try. If your old phone isn't currently usable for this, you could try having it done at a carrier store; they usually have the tools.
By the way, if you're so paranoid about privacy that you don't want MS to even know who is in your contacts list and/or you don't trust their privacy policies, I'm not sure that any modern smartphone is really going to work for you. A completely rooted Android phone with a modified, custom-built ROM, perhaps? All the major smartphone OS vendors use "cloud" synching for things like contacts.
Thanks for help
all of you guys. At the end i spent yesterday 3 hours to manually do that. I export all the contacts and sent them as vcf. Then i received e-mail to my Lumia 520, and one after one - it takes 4 clicks for one contact - added to my contact list. I had like 580 contacts - at least, after few years i delete some of them
Once again - BIG THANKS for your effort!!
Now the second part of the question - as im going to order new digitizer for my loved diamond 2 - how to export/import sms from WM6.5 to WP8 with no cloud?

I hate all this cloud system - i always tried to keep my data private, and stored only local. For the next phone i should ask you guys first, and than get one
