it is not a problem of root,i think as it also happened with me when i newly purchased the phone u can try inserting different sim and check
Blow into the sim card slot. There may be some foreign particles there.
Make sure that the sim card has been inserted properly. Boot into recovery and clear the Dalvik cache.
+1 about the wipes

Try to do a full, clean install. That means wiping everything, not just data, also wipe cache, and dalvik cache. Have you done that?
Hi I have a galaxy note GT-N7000. yesterday while i was taking a few snaps suddenly my mobile camera went all black . none of the buttons was responding and after a few seconds it showed an error message : Warning - Camera Failed. I took a back up, removed sd card and did a factory setting . When the mobile restarted i checked the camera it was working. But today again it i showing me the same error message..i again tried doing factory setting but it is not helping. Apart from earlier error message it is now also showing Warning - errorcallback. I have also upgraded my firmware. it now shows that this is the latest firware when i try to update it using kies. Any help??

Latest update means ICS most probably and I don't think you are even rooted and you said you did factory data reset? read this.
try to backup your files from your memory card (to your PC), reformat it and copy back your photos and needed files back to your card.
Do a wipe dalvik cache, reboot recovery, reboot system.
Try to use your cam again after.

you mean internal SD, if so then please do not advise without knowing if he is on stock or custom kernel.

No it's not internal.. MEMORY CARD is the External Storage one. I'm not sure if the appropriate word 'memory card' is understandable but I apologized if your confused.
Once try this
Setting-application - all-camera
Clear data

Hey no problem Bud, may be I was confused here
My main concern was to make it clear to OP that he should not perform any kind of reset or wipe if he is on stock kernel.

This may be due to permissions. Just boot into recovery, goto advanced, fix permissions and reboot. This should fix it for you. Thanks,

Sorry if this isn't the right way of asking this.
I was on .205 firmware I've rooted it using toowelroot way and installed a recovery. Then I tried to install CM11 nightly from today.
I turned on the phone on recovery.
Made a backup.
Install from zip
got a message os "installation complete press any key"
rebooted.
phone never turned itself on
Tried to turned it on but it only vibrates.
Did I brick my phone?
help please.
---------------------------------------------
Did a bit of search. I'm using SUS to fix the problem. I guess custom ROM's aren't for me.
What I'm doing:
*Started SUS
*Connected phone while holding Volume - to the PC
Now I'm waiting for SUS to "fix" my mistake.

Hey @funky0308 I wiped the data partition from the recovery (my stupidy) after that the phone went into bootloop. The sony logo comes up then an Android logo comes with a blue bar running the the bottom of the screen. I tried to repair phone with PC companion it says it was successful but the same thing happens Sony logo and after that the same android logo. All this while on the latest 4.4.4 (.108 version) i though I had an older FTF so I tired flashing the older firmware 4.4.2 (.757) it was successful but when booted up same issue. I thought that the kernal is not getting fixed then I tried to flash just the .757 firmware kernal ans still same issue. I again repaired the phone with PC companion and get the success message but whe i try to boot same thing happens.
I think will have to take it to the sony centre only.
Perform a clean install, don't restore anything from recovery. Allow it to boot, see if the problem persists.

What do u mean by clean install? I tried to repair the phone with Sony PC companion. It gets repaired but when i try to boot the same thing happens.....Sony logo comes and after that instead of the Xperia logo the Android logo comes up and nothing happens. I have to press the power button and volume+ to turn off the phone.
Try wiping cache from recovery

Wiping data won't get you to bootloop, system wipe will.
So, really, try to download latest ftf and flash it through pc companion.
Wipe all and remove sdcard for now...
Test everything, boot device and then try to put sdcard back to phone...
Wiping and formating data are important!

I got this error whilst using multi boot menu
I had a stock rom and a CM running at the same time. It may be due to data being stored on the SD card that comes from both Roms trying to be accessed at the same time. (AFAIK)
I know just updated to 4.4.4 with a clean install (Which wiped the data partition). After the install I restored all my apps with data using Titanium and the problem is gone.
