[Q] Please Help in Installing JellyBean - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Sony ericsson w8 and I have flash it with x8 kernal (2.0.0.A.53) and installed GingerDx. Now I am putting Jelly bean but the naA jb kernal or Ics kernal is showing 'flashing aborted' while flashing . Neither ICS nor JB is installing on my X8. Now i am running gingerDx..
So please help me in installing JB or ICS custom kernal with full procedure.
Thankyou....

Easy method,
1. flash nAa jb 05
2. flash any jb rom u want as mentioned in thread
3.flash nAa jb 06
Or you can workaround by editing the rom zip but above method is easier
Happy Flashing JB

help getting links..

All jb kernels can be downloaded from same page mentioned in the thread ..
Rom, whichever you like, you can flash kernel again & again
work hard, play hard

Firstly...have u unlocked your phone's bootloader? Jelly bean or ICS on X8/W8 works only a custom kernel....which u can install if u have a unlocked bootloader....if your bootloader is not unlocked u cannot flash any other kernel.....

use s1tool to check bl status. if you're flashing naa's jb kernel the first time you need to format data cache system apart from the wipes, then flash a compatible rom.

Can my phone sony ericsson has already bootloader unlocked. is it possible??

no, sony ericsson hadn't been that much of "friendly" to AOSP, you need to check it first with s1tool then if your mfg date is 11w29 below you can unlock it

Which rom you are using to unlock bootloader
It only works with stock rom
that's false information you have given. It will also work with custom ROM 2.2 2.3 as well -at least as far as unlocking by using flashtool 0.5.3 is concerned.
They want you to stick with stock ROM 2.1 because there's less risk of screwing things up. There are various persons who have unlocked their bootloader using custom ROM such as gingerdx and gingerexperia.
There are never any official words that come out and say "don't use custom ROM" but if you look at the code where they patch things you only see that they need a stock kernel and rooted system to work with, nothing more than that!

M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015....... do i need to change baseband or do i need another rom ? i installed kernel nAa11 .... plz tell me any custom rom which is best for kernel nAa 11. give me link . also one qusetion more do i need to unlock bootlaoder again if i flash again stock rom 2.1 with flashtool ? plz help me
Kernel nAa is for MiniCM7 ROMs (and based-on ROMs). So You can choose between f.eg. original MiniCM7 2.1.9, iROM v005, GingerXperiaRay.
The ROM You mentioned is for ALFS kernel
If You unlocked Your bootloader it will be unlocked, even if You flash stock ROM. But if You do so You will have to change kernel and root Your phone again, cause stock ROM works only on stock kernel

[Q] Can bootloader be unlocked with GDX v025?

I read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957
but i don't have the stock ROM, and was wondering if i can unlock the bootloader on GDX v025. I have a W8 with 11W20 and i plan on installing MiniCM9. Also, i read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432
What does he mean about flashing it to Gingerbread ROMs? I'd appreciate the help.
And is getting the stock ROM as simple as downloading it and then flashing it with CWM? and will i need to update it to the latest basebands or is there one already updates that's available?
Thanks

It's is highly advisable to be on stock ROM. Just flash it via PCC/SEUS. Why this is required , I don't know. But always people recommend unlocking on stock ROM. I too would therefore recommend the same. Get back to stock ROM
Don't risk it by unlocking on GDx v025
What he means that the kernel is meant for ICS ROMS only and is NOT meant for GB or stock ROMS
Another thing
So...
1) Flash Stock Rom using SEUS (will this be the one with the latest baseband and will my phone still be rooted?)
2) Unlock Bootloader while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436957)
3) Flash ICS kernel while on Stock Rom (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304432)
4) Flash MiniCM9 (as stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575094)
Am i right?
Also, is it necessary to install all to Google Apps which nAa has provided a link to?
And where does the currently rooted state of my phone lie in all of this?
Thanks

Not sure about SEUS , but if you use PCC , your phone gets unrooted.
I guess both ways, you have to root again. But that's not a cumbersome task. Just use superoneclick and then place xrecovery files in /system/bin
Just make sure that after flashing the kernel , you flash the ROM directly after it. If you reboot your phone after flashing the kernel , you will encounter a soft brick.
It is not necessary , but recommended. I would suggest that you flash Gapps (Google Apps) , and then manually remove the applications you do not want by using apps like "Root Uninstaller" from the Play Store.
I did not understand your last question.
I am 99.999% sure of what all I told you is correct. However , since I have a locked bootloader , I might have missed somewhere (I'm sure I have not though)
I unlocked my 11w18 with GDX , no problems

first, miniCM7 only built on custom kernel, so you've to unlock your bootloader
and then flash the nAa kernel or AlfsCM7 kernel
about flashing from custom rom, its just the same, you go into the recovery and simply flash it with the right kernel
