I'm pretty annoyed at the fact that my Motorola Photon and GS3 both supported Vice City, but my HTC One can't.
I've seen several videos on YouTube of the HTC One running Vice City - I'm not sure which variant of the HTC One, but regardless if it's CDMA or GSM, they essentially have they processing/graphics capabilities.
I've been trying to get it running by following these crappy instructions, but still no luck.
Anybody know why Vice City is still labelled "incompatible" on the Sprint HTC One? Also, has anyone gotten Vice City to run on their HTC One??
I think it's the 1080p screen.

If that were the case, why is it running on the GS4?
Try sideloading it you can get the apk from another supported device and just transfer it

go into your build.prop and amend the following lines to look like this
ro.product.brand=
ro.product.model=
ro.product.model=
ro.product.brand=
ro.product.name=
ro.product.device=
save it, reboot
and youll see it in the market afterwards
after you download it i think you can set it back to what it was before
its all a build.prop thing.

So I took a look through a few Samsung Vibrant demos and apparently the Vibrant gets its own version of the Sims 3. The one that comes preloaded on the Vibrant is nothing like the one currently on the Android Market and it looks amazing. You can see a demo of the Sims 3 for the Vibrant here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9xUdHUMCIQ
Now would there be a way we can get it onto our phones? I've tried just pulling the apk from the Vibrant dump, courtesy of Wes, but after I install it and open it I get a message saying "There is a problem parsing the package". I don't really understand it all, but I'm guessing we can't actually play the game because our device isn't the Vibrant. So how hard would it be to try and get it to work on our phones?
Im not sure either i did the same exact thing. Try Signing it or pushing it though adb XD idk it probly has something to do inside the apk maybe the screen size plays a roll in this?
pretty sure that things got the humming bird 1g in it and weve only got a 600 mhz. im pretty sure this game wont work on our phones because of the difference in proccesors
edit: it may also be for android 2.2 not 2.1
Fyi The vibrant is running 2.1

Please upload the game! I want to try it, if it work on me. I have acer liquid running android 2.2.
i got it to install..i'm using a evo though..but it's unplayable all the environments and background is black..anyway to fix that??
how did you guys find this? i downloaded the dump but didn't find anything other than the launcher.

Only if you had the game source code or the source code for your graphics chip. This sims game is optimized for the galaxy s's very fast gpu so don't expect much help even if you had access to all of that

the evo is just as powerful as the galaxy 2. the reason everything is black is because the textures are missing.
Same thing happens in sims 3 on the PC.
and thats whats so confusing about this because wes said that sims 3 was included, but theres no sims3 apk big enough to be the actual game. so as far as i can tell, the game is NOT in the dump.

Not GPU wise. Look at the statistics of the Galaxy S's Gpu and the Evo's and you will see how much of a wimp the evo is in the gpu department.

Ya that humming bird is no joke. I was watchin theunlockr.com and they were doing a copmairison of the n1 and the galaxy s next to eachother both running the ported quake 2. And the n1 was all choppy and the galaxy was smooth as butter. Needless to say I was thinking of getting an n1 or evo but I'm thinkin of goin with the galaxy now

Actually, that was the Desire vs Vibrant, but close enough lol.
I think the problem is that the game engine, etc. are in the dump but the actual files needed to play (textures, etc.) come on the SD card.
can you send me the file?
I'd like the file as well if at all possible.
I Have it, and all I could say is that it runs really well on the slide.

Do we have video proof or could we possibly have video proof?
Wouldn't the screen resolution be a problem as I'm sure that the vibrant has a 4.something screen and the slide sits at 3 and some change. I would also like this version of The Sims as opposed to the crappy version that has been on the market.
Here's your proof buddy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfOla7wjdjk
How did you get it to install and work? Whatever version i've been finding installed but stayed on a black screen.
I had the same problem at first, the only way I could get it to work is to put the 3 Files in Titanium backup and restoring them from there.
I'm not requesting this or anything; I'm just curious. Would it be possible to make Netflix work on our phone? Or what is it about our phones that makes it not work?
Thanks.
Whoa. Is netflix even on the android yet? Because that would be sweet.
Yeah it is, you can find the apk on XDA, but videos won't play on the Hero...you can browse the instant play queue, but that's it. I am trying a few of the widely talked about edits to spoof it into playing but no go on the Hero yet.
Tried:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
and
ro.product.model=Nexus S
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
Neither worked for me...I get to where the video will appear to be loading, then the app kicks back to the main screen.
you would need flash 10 for netflix to dont u or do they have it mobile formated now.
I believe it's mobile formatted...it plays fine on my iPod Touch...

That's what I was thinking about trying too. I'm thinking the app itself needs to be changed somehow, but I'm a newb so it's just a guess. I don't know if it's even possible to do that.

I hope we won't get into trouble. I would imagine they would praise the mod since it'll allow pre-existing customers to access their paid service account.

^^^^^DOES NOT WORK^^^^^
im pretty confident it will not work on the hero ever same reason as flash, i know they said they would only be supporting new snapdragon processors due to some sort of DRM compliance
i am also pretty sure that it needs an ARMv7 processor for some sort of hardware acceleration much the same way flash does, so its going to be more than just some build prop edits
best chance of it working
drm.apk from evo
build.prop edit
alot of luck

The Optimus S/V has it working, they have a ARMv6 like us. Also, according to someone's twitter update (just saying, it might be true) Random Google Search they got it working on the HTC Hero.

That's what I've gotten so far. I only used the method in the description, and I posted above.
It just uploaded, so I don't know if it's public yet.
i almost wonder if it has something to do with it not really having a GPU thats all excuses though i honestly thought it was cause by what i posted so this is awesome proof of concept guys keep up the good work
Trying the Optimus' way now. Hopefully it'll work. I'd love to have this on my phone, even though it will overheat the heck out of my battery .
By the way, I'm on AOSPCMOD 4/29, and it worked with AOSP's other ROM for the Optimus V. But then again, they have a working screen on-off animation, and we don't .
That I am pretty sure is because of the gpu esp for how choppy they were when they do work

I have been hitting a roadblock with trying to get 9mm to run on my touchpad.
So far I have been working from the instructions here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7709-gameloft-compatibility-thread-with-working-version-s/
There is a copy on XDA as well but they both do the same thing. Normally I get all pink/red textures. Using the instructions I get all black/white textures.
According to everything I can find the setup listed "should" work, but it does not for me. I think I am missing some steps, but trying to search for "9mm" does not come up with much.
I see mention about getting the Tegra version of the game but nobody says how to do this. I assume it has to do with an edit to build.prop but so far the exact edit is something I cannot find.
Thanks
I have the same issues. I was able to get rid of the pink and actually get the correct graphics. The game starts to go black after the intro though. I wonder if getting the full version of chainfire would help. Any suggestions?
Sent from my GT-i9100 using Tapatalk
I am running the full version and have had no luck at all. For me I get black textures for everything on the Nvidia plugin. Pink for every other setting.
I have seen it listed as working but so far nobody will actually post how they got it to work.
At least I only invested .99 . Not a huge loss if I cant get it running.
Ok, I got a bit closer last night in getting this running. I can now watch the opening movie without any texture distortion but after that the game locks up. Sound still plays fine.
Oddly my live wallpaper also starts crashing, making me wonder if I am hitting a memory cap. I do run V6 supercharger so I can make adjustments to the limits.
What I did, and it is based on posts linked in the original thread and some serious expiramentation.
1 - Delete the 9MM game folder from /sdcard/gamelof/ I believe it has the letters 9MM in it.
2 - Change your build.prop. Model: PG86100 Brand: Sprint
3 - Reboot
4 - Start 9MM. let it download the files, mine were about 800MB
5 - Restore you build.prop . This will vary depending on your rom.
6 - Another reboot
Like I said this starts to play for me then locks up. I have not played much with all the plugins and drivers in Chainfire3D so the solution may be in there someplace. This may also not be the best way to get it running...but so far it is the closest I can get

I haven't tried it for this game, but I am familiar with jumping through hoops to get Gameloft games to work.
Basically what you would need to do is to pick a popular Tegra 2 device that Gameloft supports and Google for the build.prop of that devices. If you're not sure which devices are Tegra 2 check wikipedia and if you aren't sure which devices Gameloft supports check their site, but in general they like the big mobile carriers like Samsung, HTC and Motorola but ignore others like Asus, so don't pick the Transformer build.prop.
In this case I would say go for the Xoom build.prop edits and I did Google Xoom and 9mm and verified people with the Xoom are saying it works on their device.
In this case, a Google search for Xoom build.prop should bring up some useful results. Having done that the relevant edits you want will be:
ro.product.model=
ro.product.brand=
ro.product.name=
ro.product.device=
In the case of the Xoom you would want the following edits:
ro.product.model=Xoom
ro.product.brand=verizon
ro.product.name=trygon
ro.product.device=stingray
The other thing you will want to do is use Chainfire set to the Tegra 2.
The build.props should get you the Tegra data and then Chainfire should (hopefully) translate it run properly.
Again, I haven't tried all this but I have done similar edits for other Gameloft games.
That is the type of information I was looking for, thank you thank you thank you
I have Wifi issues when I reboot at work so I will try this when I get home tonight and report back.

Had my phone for a few weeks now. And had the VJraider rom on for a few days and really liking this phone. One thing I noticed though is the lack of availability of some of the bigger games. The phone came packed with N.O.V.A but can't get it off the market and notice there aren't really any of the big Gameloft games available. Looked at chainfire but it seems s-off is needed for it to work with HTC devices. I also have an acer a500 which I have already bought some games. Am I able to get the apk file off that and run it on the Raider? Or do you guys have some recommendations on good games for the Raider/Vivid?

Chainfire3D actually does work as it only needs root, not S-Off. However, the main reasons why some of the games from Gameloft aren't available is really because of the qHD resolution on our device. Most of Gameloft's games are made for devices with WVGA or lower, otherwise since you have already purchased game, the market will allow you to download it again to your new device.

I don't know that its strictly based on the resolution. I previously had an atrix 4g which is also qhd. The main difference between the two is the CPU. I had purchased Asphalt 6 on my atrix and it ran perfectly fine. When I open it on my vivid, it tells me its not compatible. I think they simply need to add the vivid to a configuration file. Probably a 2 minute fix that will take gameloft 6 months to fix.

Installed Chainfire and got GTA 3 running nicely but still no luck with the the bigger gameloft games. I read other phones have similar issues and changing the model in the build.prop usually works. Is moddifing the build.prop in that manner somewhat easy? Haven't managed to find a guide on editing it in that manner for the vivid. And if I do that what would be a good model to change it to.. the sensation? Reading over some threads on the gameloft forums just makes it seem like they are a bit lazy on adding compatibility which is really annoying.
gun bros is good, shadow gun is good too
I wanna play modern combat 3 but couldn't find a way to do it, i have heard editing build.prop works but i m not sure

Hey guys, anyone having issues with flixster? I can use it to get showtimes and movie trailers, but when I want to watch movies that I own (from vudu/ultraviolet) the app gives me a error and says they're working on the issue.
Works perfectly on my 3d, which is also rooted...so don't think that's the problem...thanks for the insights you may have.
Mine isn't working too. I Can watch trailers, but the movies won't load.
Sent from my Sprint ONE using Tapatalk 4
Can't watch movies with Flixster on rooted/custom ROMS and likely never will. The work-around, since they are UV titles, is to install Vudu from the app store. The problem with that is it won't work with Sprint based HTC One and you'll need to edit your build.prop to trick the Play store into thinking it's just a regular/international version. Once you have it installed you can switch back or leave it. Leaving actually will give you more options without losing any. Then you can watch all your UV titles without issue. At least I haven't had any.

Thanks so much for the reply and answer. I've been searching on how to change the build.prop what needs to change. I think I can change the values easy enough but I don't know the values are supposed to be for ro.product.device and model for the international version. the sprint version viperrom say m7wls. If someone can help with that, think I can get vudu playing...thanks!!
