[Q] Rooting C5303? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello xda
first time and non-english poster here, but I'll do my best, so please be patient with me.
I'd greatly appreciate when someone smarter than me could help me fix my problem:
- Had rooted HTC Desire running LeeDrOiD V2.5.0 FINAL
- Lived happily with lots of apps but wanted new phone
- Made Backup with Titanium Backup
- Bought Sony Xperia SP C5303 (see screenshot of About Phone)
- Noticed that all I can find are discussions on C5302, so I am not exactly sure if I should attempt rooting yet...please bear in mind that I am not a computing prodigy and managed to root the HTC only with a step-by-step-tutorial. The same applies for the Xperia.
- I don't want a different Rom on my new phone, I just want to restore my Titanium Backup.
So I don't need an unlocked bootloader, right?
My question is: what would you do?
Thanks in advance for any help!

you can easily root your device using Doomlord's root method; for both locked and unlocked bootloader. just follow the step-by-step instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329208

When restoring your titanium backup do not restore system files as this may well cause bootloop.

UPDATE: wow, never thought it would be so easy. We need more people like Doomlord on this planet!
Ok, thanks for your quick answers, I'll try it with Doomlord's method.

[Q] New Xperia T, want to root it

Hi there, I am a noob to this forum, so apologies if this thread ends up in the wrong place!
I purchased a Sony Xperia T on Monday (17/12/12) after my HTC Desire broke
So far a great phone, I just get fed up with all the adverts on my games! I want to root it and just get the standard 'apps' for rooted phones ie. AdAway, Titanium Backup etc.
I rooted and installed custom ROMs on the Desire with no problem, but I can't seem to do this on the T. I have scoured the net for tutorials and guides and everything else, but nothing seems to be working.I am trying to use Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v4.
I follow the instructions to the letter- choose phone, insert USB, choose restore, and wait... sometimes it reboots, others it just does nothing. Even when it does reboot, it still doesn't root.
Specs:
Model Number= LT30P
Android Version= 4.0.4
Baseband Version= 8960A-AAAAANAZQ-10015019-19
Kernel Version= 3.0.8+1.0.21100-02477-g0d376f4
Build Number= 7.0.A.3.195
I am on UK Orange/EE
USB Debugging is enabled...
Sorry about the long post, I wanted to give as much info as I could so I can hopefully get this done.
In advance, thanks :fingers-crossed:

you cannot root 7.0.A.3.195 unless you unlock your bootloader.
check Q&A section for all in one thread (sticky), everything in there.
You CAN root .195. Firmware but that needs some work. Just go to the all in one thread in the questions and answer section and read that thread. It has every info you need for rooting.

i think i was pretty clear in answering his question.. and pointed him to Q&A thread.
Welcome to the forum. Please make sure you post in the relevant section to what you're posting about, i.e. all questions belong here in Q&A.
Also the best thing to do is always search first as gregbradley has kindly put together an all in one thread at the top of this section which will help you with most common questions.
Thanks

Hi,
If you want I can help you to root your device with the version you have (.195). I got my Xperia T last week and I directly rooted it and it works perfectly.

If you did it without unlocking the bootloader or without flashing a prerooted stock image through CWM please share because those are the only methods that I am aware of currently working.

There is a method will documented in the q&a, requires flashing. 303 and rooting, installing cwm and then restoring a 195. As mentioned above, check the all in one thread.
The following link gives info, please search first.

Thanks everyone, 'thanks' has been clicked
Before I do this a) is there any way to 'unroot' the phone, as it voids warranty etc? And b) is it a huge improvement on stock, unrooted? Looking at the posts mentioned it appears to be stable, but just want some feedback from you guys.
Thanks guys

I'm with you on this one Spec. If there is a direct way of rooting the phone without the round-about way. I'm all ears.

[Q] Some questions regarding unlocking and gaining root

Good day fellow Xperia users!
After using the Xperia Play for a while I switched to the Xperia Z today.
On my Xperia Play I have a unlocked bootloader and use Doomkernel with the stock rom. (And love it!)
I would like to unlock the bootloader of this phone aswell, however a few questions remain.
Phone info: C6603 - v 4.1.2 - 10.1.A.1350
- My model is: C6603.
Could not find a topic about rooting this model, could anyone link me to the correct topic?
(Scared to flash the wrong stuff, to the wrong model.)
(Service menu does say it can be unlocked.)
(I guess the right topic would be: [ROOT] Xperia Z (C660x) for unlocked bootloaders ONLY! (RELEASED) but please ensure me.)
- Can anyone link me to the correct files needed to unlock the bootloader?
(As in, can someone link me to the set of files that contains everything needed for this?)
(I know there is a set for Xperia Play, however Iam not sure or they would work.)
- Should I insert a SIM card when unlocking the bootloader?
- Should I wait for my phone to load to 100% battery?
Iam sorry if the questions above have been explained before, Iam sure they are.
However you would really help me answering these questions, I would be really thank full.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Thanks for the link gm007.
However some questions still remain:
- Should I insert a SIM card when unlocking the bootloader?
- Should I wait for my phone to load to 100% battery?
Anyone?
Kind regards, Stefan.
You can keep the sim inserted no problem.
Always Charge the phone to 100% before flashing anything, maybe something goes wrong.

Hi there, what i did was unlocking the bootloader. As long as you do it carefully and follow instructions, dont skip any, it should be fine.
Firstly backup your data and stuff.
Next, flash .159 ftf, link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
Then root it with vroot.
After that backup your TA, link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598&highlight=ta
Then go to sony's website and unlock your bootloader. Warning: your warranty will be voided.
After that flash supersu or a pre rooted rom. Lots of those on XDA.
If you need any help PM me. Just be careful
hit thanks if i helped

You will need to root it on only 4.2.2 firmware, then save TA partition and flash roms.
Or you can backup TA partition then unlock bootloader on 4.3,then you can root it and install roms.
