So I have been singing Seidio's praise since before I even got one. I love this case. I fully intended that when the Nexus 11 is released I would hold off buying it until Seidio released a case for it. But then today a tragedy has befallen me. The non slip bits on the cover are lifting off. Whether it is due to the days of hot weather here in England (up to 25.5°C in the house) I don't know. I had no idea until today that they were just like stickers.
Has anyone else had this happen? Anyone have any thoughts on it? I don't mistreat it, it never even leaves the house. I haz a giant sad.

Hi mate,
This weather in England has been AMAZING, it got to 31.3 in my house I couldn't believe it, don't think I've ever seen a temp quite like this in the UK
Anyway back on topic, I think you've answered your own question, its probably melted the adhesive if you haven't seen this happening in general use, this is the only thing it could be put down to. Did you leave it in the window, or in direct sun-light etc?

No never in direct sunlight or near a window. Surely it must be able to withstand temps of 25 though.

Does anyone know of a supplier of IP65 rated cases (or something close to this), along the lines of the otterboxes http://www.otterbox.com/products/pda_cases/1900/ ?
There used to be a company that made clear perspex cases that I don't believe were rated to IP standards, but they looked quite nice. Can't find them anywhere on the net though, and cases purposly made for the Athena seem few and far on the ground.
TVM in advance!
Have you tried contacting OB, and seeing if they have a box that will fit the 7500? They prob. do...
dude, where do you work !! in a war zone ? don't forget that the athena can only take so much shock, although the case might be up to it you will have to pad it to protect the phone.
What an ugly case!
The ameo/athena still gets "ooooohs and aaaaahs" along with "is'nt it pretty, (pretty BIG), how do you answer it???" most times that people/nokia users see it.
OK, the ameo is'nt a beauty and its not small, why would you want to make it uglier and bigger?
maybe you have a job where it gets knocked around alot (like a night shift raiding villages in iraq under mortar fire - (well noticed ice-coffee)
however, i think i know why you need to protect your valuable piece of kit, and also why making it uglier/undesirable and bigger/impossible to lift and steal.................
Ive a feeling brummagum is not a real place??? however it is code for "i live in birmingham but i want out!!!!
I have seen many a nice phone stolen and many a person in birmingham robbed by demented hoodies that could spell "ppc"!
good thinking!!!! Now, how do i produce a 100000volt current that pulses across the metal housing of the ameo and frys any would be muggers
Did you look at Pelican? With some modifying something like this may work for you:
http://pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1060
You'll need to add some padding inside to keep the Athena form rattling around in there but you could utilize the extra space for accessories.
EDIT: This is IP67, not IP65 but, Christ, what are you going to do with it???

Yep, Birmingham, Twinned with downtown Baghdad.
To be fair, I think in my OP, I went a bit OTT with the description, and whilst it would be nice to have a device that can save me in the event of the common drive-bys that go down, it was more of a well padded crystal case, something along the lines of http://www.pdamods.com/proddetail.asp?prod=CRDLX50 that I was after.
Oh, if only I'd used the search...

That Pelican 1060 case I linked to above also has a foam insert in the "Accessories" section.
Specifically, the screen on my hero. Had to wire 4 houses today and that **** got scratched up in the crawlspaces.
Any ideas on how to fill it?
Try using that Apple polish, I hear it works.

But dude, it's January. Crawlspace? You're dedicated lol.
Toothpaste vigorously applied with a qtip usually works. Make sure it's mint toothpaste, if it's tooth whitening that helps too.
can you report back on the method you use with before and after pics?
I don't have a camera, because i use my phone, but I'll try something this weekend and let you know.
As far as crawlspaces, it's actually quite warm under a house. Hell, I was putting a dish on a roof in 30degree weather yestarday. Roof was wet, cold fingers were cold.

Ok this is funny. I scratched my phone crawling through a crawlspace on Wednesday!!!! And I was running an extra Dual cable on a DirecTV KAKU upgrade... Tell me how the scratch fix works.. And you know what it is DEFINITELY warmer under a house then on the roof putting up a KAKU dish, or especially an international!!! LOL
I know how that is. I was supposed to up a KAKU and an International a couple weeks ago, but when I rolled up the KAKU was already there, so just had to get the International in. Sadly, it was a SWM setup so had to take it to SLIM and get a 6x8 in.
Speaking of SWM, have you had to do a a SWM 8 expander yet?
If you haven't, try to swap that **** with someone else. They suck.
after you fix it, just get a zagg invisible shield for your screen. they are awesome. i've dropped my phone on rocks and no damage
http://podshop.com/idrops/
It's awesome.
I feel your pain man I work in cable. Applesauce is great. Ive used Brasso on my iPod plenty of times and it works great. You can get Brasso at most stores.

And if they put them every 10 feet, customers finish their basements right over the splitters, then we don't know where they are. Wow the barrels I have to use to bypass those splitters....
I am a contractor not an employee, so I have sold many swm expanders before the employees even heard of them.
The worst is international upgrade on a swm kaku lnb dish. Total rewire. if they have dvr's they get all pissed you have to run 2nd lines....
Where are you working? I am in Mass.
I'm down in central GA.

I have this case. first of all I paid $22 for it and second, i didnt notice anything you mentioned on my phone...can you upload pics to show us?
Meh...I too have this case and none of the chipping. Pics would be great if you could.
you got ripped off. It's 20 bux
i want this case. how is the belt clip on it? does it work good? did you get it at your local tmobile store?
I don't own one of these cases, but I'd suggest you take a look at the two "knobs" that appear to be contacting the back of your case, and see if they either have sharp edges that are scratching or some type of glue/epoxy that might be reacting with and chipping your phone. As the battery door appears to be metallic in composition, your problem might be due to some type of chemical reaction.
Nah, it's definitely from the stand. I have that same case and I'm glad I clicked on this thread. Mine hasn't gotten there yet, but after reading this I noticed a tiny bit of rubbing. I'm gonna put a piece of tape over it. Thanks for the heads up.
No Problem
like i said i love this case we will see what body glove has to say tommrow and and btw i looked at my recipt and forgot that i bought somtimg else when i got it it was only 20 dollars sorry for the foul up
I bought this case before and from taking off a couple of times i now how scratches on the sides of my battery cover now... Stopped using this case after couple of days
Bought this case on launch day with the phone and dont have any damage from using the case.
Got a New Cover
Ok so after many customer service agents and long hold times i called body glove first then they gave me a number to call corporate after pretty much blowing me off asking for recipets they said they would send a claim form in the mail like any uses that anymore then i called t-mobile customer service which i do love because the people are so friendly and helpful they gave me the number to HTC which i called and got sent all over the place there (i still cant figure out why i had to call HTC about a body glove case that T-MO sold??) then i got tired of all of the running around and went to a local t-mo store the girl changed out my battery cover for a new one great i am so happy about that but what about the body case i asked she says if you do not have the recipet there's nothing i can do so i then asked just to trade it out and again no recipet no trade fine i said thank you and was very polite because she took care of my phone which is all i care about so the conclusion i have a good battery back but not new case guess ill just have to stick with that crappy rubber case that came with it till i can get my phone skinned over all im happy...
Please spread those periods of ellipsis throughout your post next time...jesus that was hard to read!
Thanks for providing your experience with this case. I was thinking of getting this one but after seeing this gonna have to think twice about it. So which case would be the most efficient?

Same here.
I thought it didn't scratch my phone either until about 2 days ago. The scratch is TINY but noticeable when looking for it.
But then again it seems it couldn't have been the case because its about 1/4 inch on top of the E in the SENSE part.
Doesn't bother me though since it's always in the case. If I get bored I'll polish it one day...

so your saying you will pay to damage your phone? Please give me an address and ill list my price to damage your phone and i'll put it in a case for you also
my wife and i both have this case, all good on our front. no scratches or such.
Just like everyone else,
I bought this case with the phone and never had a problem like you described. I rather like this case if only I didn't have to take it off every time I had to pull battery.
i bought this case from day one and not a single issue with it. I love it and if it wasn't for this case i would have a cracked screen on it(again). the one day i let my spouse use it to try it out was the day the phone fell and the screen cracked. I have dropped it from higher ground with the body glove case and phone was untouched but yet the day i don't have the case i drop it from knee high bench and screen cracks. wow. i trust and love this case. sorry to hear you guys are having this problem.
I have the EXACT same problem... I'm glad you went ahead and showed everyone. My problem is that I have 2 of the same case.... and I'm not in US for the next 3 months. So I figured I need to glue some sort of foam at the kickstand so it doesn't do it.
pre-ordered a couple weeks ago, cant wait to get this thing in!
PadPivot
anyone else find this little stand amazing!?
Cool idea. Not sure if it'll work with the rubberized back of the NC. The original Nook doesnt have that kind of back I understand...
Looks pretty awesome I must say. They even have a nook color image amung the compatible devices shown. Pre-orders are taken here: http://www.padpivot.com/
$25 is a great deal.
You struck gold... that is spot on what I was looking for!!!!

The original Nook does have a rubberized back, but it's a different style/texture to the NC. I can't tell how that pedestal attaches, is it glued on?
Looks like a gel/rubber sticky pad much like those anti-slip pads you toss on the dash for a GPS unit.
Get it wet and let it air dry like those jelly slime toys you toss at the wall and it creeps down.
At least that is how it looks on the site and based on the FAQ.
The video does show a NC, but they don't mention it on the site. Might be worth an email to them.
Does it do vert?
Doesnt look like it is available to pre order anymore... bummer.
I seriously thought about it, but decided against it. I just don't find myself in a position that that would be useful. How often do people set it on their lap and use it hands free?
It doesnt have to be used on your lap. I would like it to use on the plane when watching movies.
Ah, I already have a few stands I can use for that.
Ordered 4.
I want to order 2 but it says pre orders are full
If anyone has an extra one once they ship please pm me and I will buy it from you. This is perfect for what I need

No, and in an attempt to discourage large people from flying, they're reducing seat width as well. Which brings me to my total OT idea... tickets based on weight!
I've had my Gear 2 Neo for 22 days now. Today, I noticed for the first time more than just scuffing. I'll let a picture do some better explaining...
I haven't been doing anything extreme, just working at my desk in my office. There is some significant metal transfer onto the surface of the desk. I had no idea it would get this bad.
What do you guys think? Is this something I could get covered under warranty?
Does anyone else have this problem?

I tried to leave the packing on my Gear 2 but it peeled itself off within the first hour of wearing it.
That's pretty bad IMO, especially for just desk work. What type of desk? I didn't leave my original watchband on very long, since I thought it looked pretty cheesy. I bought a 22mm $20 leather watch band online and it looks and feels much better than the rubber strap that comes with it.
I would try and get it replaced under warranty but i guess they will tell you its your own fault etc..
If you still want the rubber straps, i would suggest, buy new ones on ebay and then get the cheapest `copter` displayfilm you can find and cut it to fit the buckle, should not have any more scuffing like that.
I too have a deskjob and i have nothing near the scuffing you have. Last week i got my carbon look skin from Skinomi and it came with a sticker for the buckle, atleast it will save me from some wear and tear onbthe buckle.
Sent from Galaxy no. N5120 via the LTE-network
my buckle came apart on my gear 2 neo cant figure out if there were screws in these holes or how it was held together , also I cant seem to locate original straps on eBay.
