UPDATE:
The download for the Digital Rain boot animation is now a link to the general non carrier specific HTC One themes section. It is more comprehensive and up to date with a few extras. Here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357926
Haven't had a lot of free time due to work and family, but I managed to rework the infamous Call of Android boot I made a few years back. It is tailored for the HTC one but I can upload an unbranded version for anyone interested in making their own device specific boot. I would say this is what the boot animation I created a few years ago should have looked like but I didn't have the software at the time.
I also present a Matrix style digital rain boot specifically made for the HTC ONE. This one was a little more time consuming and took the better part of 3 months to finish... Apparently it's extremely difficult to find a good quality Matrix font online, it's pretty much non existent. So I made the font from scratch and including it in the attachments for ****s and gigs. Keep in mind that the font is not complete and only has 96 characters. The uniformity is also not consistent between each glyph as I was making this for video/boot animation purposes and not daily use.
Here are a couple gif's to get you started and the attached files. There are mp3's attached as a zip for anyone interested in matching audio. I am not going over the instructions on how to flash/copy/overwrite the necessary files to install these animations as there are plenty of tutorials already explaining the process.
DISCLAIMER:
Any questions, ask. Anyone interested in using it for their rom/project/different device, that is perfectly ok, you have permission too. All I ask is that you give credit where credit is due and hopefully link back to this post for others.

Digital Rain Downloads (UPDATE):
Since this seems to be getting more attention in the unbranded HTC One forum, here is a link to the Matrix Digital Rain boot. I have it kept up to date and added a few extra things to it.

**NOTE**
If you have any problems downloading the zips from the links above, try a right click on the link and selecting "save as".
If your sound does not work after flash, most likely you will need to add a small snippet of code to an xml file. It's easy, just follow the directions below.
Adding audio:
On your phone use a file manager to browse to the folder: /system/customize/CID
Open the xml file contained in the directory with a text editor. Once opened, scroll down till you come across some text regarding bootanimations. The text will look something similar or exactly like ex:
Code:
animation="/system/customize/resource/NAMEOFBOOTANIMTION.zip" />
All you need to do is add a line of text and save, ex:
Code:
animation="/system/customize/resource/NAMEOFBOOTANIMATION.zip" [COLOR="Red"]audio="/system/customize/resource/NAMEOFAUDIOFILE.mp3 />[/COLOR]
As a bonus, the woman in red splash image and flashable zip.

Surprised that there has not been more excitement about these, manually replacing files is easy, but took extra step to create flushable zips. They look awesome, work perfectly! My preference is the Blue. Good job here

Well, it seems to be getting more exposure over in the HTC One (non carrier specific forum). I'll edit this main post with the link since I seem to be keeping it up to date more so than this thread.
These are great! thanks
Digital rain boot animation looks sick on my HTC one. Great job.

Cool nice to see other people doing animations... oh yeah just some quick advice about the digital rain one it desperately needs some knoll light factory...Would look much cleaner. Its an after effects redgiant plugin just some advice.Either way nice man.

I haven't used the knoll light factory yet... Will check it out, nice to see others who have experience with AE. :good:
I wanted the slight blur/low resolution look on the rain in the animation, I was trying to get it similar in feel to the Matrix intro and noticed it had a very similar grainy low-res look to it. I am still going to check out knoll and see what it's all about.

Yeah Redgiant makes some cool plugins if you want to remove the red X cough youtube... Yeah the only thing id say about that is: they did the matrix fly in at high res with 3d cubes to make up pixels it was either a well written expression or autodesk one of them you take your pick. Think it could be done with the holomatrix plugin now but I dont think that plugin was around then. Not exactly sure. But yeah thats why the pixels appear to have so much depth to them its how they created a 3d space to a 2d environment is with 3d pixel effect essentially.. They made the models move with expressions and null objects and then warped them in after effects. Its more of a warping of the cubes bending into code, thats what i remember at least. There are several variations lol what with 3 movies and all. The end flare when it warps into "pseudo reality" would be super easy replicated in klf as well as magic bullet looks has a matrix look i think youll like also...In KLF they also have resolution settings for you lights so no worries there and they may even have a preset of that flare Glad you shared man I like it...:good:

[email protected]#, balls man. After checking the plugin out the other night, got to say it would have made this a bit easier to do instead of a white solid overlay with a couple masks. Thanks man, glad to have more ways to simplify and make **** look clean when making these. Pretty interesting info about how they rendered the 3d effects for the intro, even if it was a pixel shift/warp effect, still good information to have for the future. I've been messing around with blender for 3d, little rough around the edges for an interface, but it works... for now. Any software suggestions or recommendations on the 3d end? I've been contemplating Cinema 4d or 3ds Max

Yeah man I hear that figured you'd like it: I've found that maxon has a much easier interface I've always thought that for some reason. Try some c4d: much simpler. And aftereffects CC has the new cineware engine in it (ie, renedering engine built into cinema4d) from maxon so yeah the two softwares will forever be interconnected from now on at least as far as adobe says. Which I love btw Currently I have autodesk 3dsmax installed as well as c4d and blender but I've never opened the other two except blender once to convert a model into .obj lol. Now I just got riptide so I can do it in c4d. Yeah I've found that most of the gurus use them as paired software. And crackanug also check out andrew kramers videocopilot element 3d it allows you to use trapcode form as a model overlay base essentially in after effects. Willing to help you attain that if you want hmu on gtalk [email protected]
And @ yeti glad you did to lol...I only try to persuade people who I think actually have promise, skill, ambition, Love to see the community grow with true talent.

As soon as I get some free time after this week (moving) I will check out c4d. Needing something other than blender, like you, all I used it for was converting things to an obj and maybe an extrusion for a simple 3d design from a vector drawing. I'm watching the videocopilot vids during some downtime at work, pretty impressive so far. I've watched some of the other tuts, but usually only when I am stuck or need help with some ideas. I'm def interested in learning from like minded individuals and getting new ideas, knowledge and tips. You see a message from letthemfear on gmail, it'll be me. Just a heads up, I work midnights so my schedule is usually a mess.

Hi.
I'm modeling 3d Android for one website, so I'll like to share with you my current progress; this is not finished model: I have to change hands (I don't like them as they are now), make legs, and add some more details. I have just posed what I have till now in to some quick pose and make quick render, to better see how it looks, and what to change.
I the end, this will be animated character and it will be used for banners, logo, icons, animated intro for videos, and some wallpapers and maybe even for theme for mobile phones.

I'm modeling this in 3d studio max.
And here is one more small update; I have remodeled hands, so that now I have more wide range of movement with them.
Awesome work, the first face looks better in my opinion, but the second is more original.
I also prefer the darker face. There is more contrast and makes the eyes stand out more. Also looks happier. Good details there. It is very difficult to make "green skin" look good at best of times!
Tnx guys for comments.
Face is still something I haven't decide yet what to do about it; I'll have to make some tests with expressions to see what will work best.
Now, I have to make legs; i'm thinking about making them somewhat similar to hands, but I'll put wheels on them (they will be mostly hidden; there will be a gap like for hands, where wheel will come out), so that he will basically role around; i thing that he will look cooler that way.

I see that nobody has made a Super Mario theme for the Epic. Lately I have been messing around and trying to learn how to theme and decided I would try to make a Super Mario theme. I havent done much and I have made a few icons for the status bar and what not. (as you can see I am using the honeycomb fusion theme and just changing icons here and there until it completely transforms into a completely new theme)
Here are some screen shots...

I know the time on the lock screen is messed up (I will be changing that tonight) and the status bar I am either considering making the clock text and the battery text black.. or maybe changing the color of the entire status bar... since its hard to see the battery text..
I am mainly making this for me and to get more experience with themes... So I am also wondering... would anyone else like to use this theme? Should I continue developing it?
What does everyone think?
looks sweet! one request I would have is to have the notif. icons a little more cleaned and polished up.

This is just on the edge of awesome, OP. The notification bar needs a little work, but otherwise, very cool. Would love to have this on the EC05 framework-res, so it's compatible with SRF1.1.0.
I think this is looking very awesome. Hope you keep going with it.

LOL!!
This theme is awesome. I would be all over it.
Agreed with many that this reeks of total awesomeness. It definitly needs some work/polish, but for saying it is your first theme, you are coming along very nicely! Everyones first project needs some polishing work Regardless, I agree with the others that the notification bar needs some work. I would definitly encourage you to keep developing this theme though, and when I get some spare time I'd even be willing to give you a hand on certain things. Great job so far man keep up the good work!
Also, IMHO if it were my theme, I would make a koopa shell battery icon, like a top down view. The current battery is just too hard to see. Just have the %age number inside the shell. Blue/Green/Yellow/Red colors change for battery levels. I think that'd be a neat idea.
Also, maybe if you used the SMB1 Lvl 2 (The first dungeon stage) Brick texture across the notification bar, that might make all the other things and the clock more readable, since it's a nice Dark Blue/greyish color. Again not trying to tell you what to do, just saying what I would modify myself If I decided to use it Other cool ideas incoming after my brain generates on this at work some haha.

whoa thanks man.. i appreciate the ideas.. ill get working on different versions of the battery icon... but i dont want to keep getting caught up in revising things or making different versions of something (like the battery meter)..i polished it up last night and it took quite some time (since there are around 202 images for it (including the charging icons))..
ill definitely try that texture for the notification bar... i was wanting to keep it looking like the 'status bar' for SMB3... at first i tried the light blue color and it turned out horrible..you could read anything really... then i tried the secondary color (the beige that you see) and obviously you can read stuff..just not that clearly (the battery icon)... SMB3 was revised and had updated graphics in the Super Mario All Stars game, and the status bar was changed to a darker hue of blue... which i could try to use and it should make the text more readable..
i do want to try to keep it looking like the status bar because thats where all your information was in the game...
i am definitely open for ideas...im still kicking around ideas in my head for the wifi signal icon and the 3g...i have ideas for the 3g symbol...just need to put it in photoshop and do the work... but for the wifi... yeah...i dunno about that one yet lol..
if anyone knows what the image name of the 'call lock message notification surrounding box' is, that would be great (its the box that surrounds the mail icon on your lock screen (where you drag down to view the message))
I was trying to find it last night but gave up lol
again..suggestions are greatly appreciated... if you have any ideas/thoughts about the status bar icons, just drop me a line and ill take a look at it.. im going to really try not to get caught up in revising the same icons over and over again and not doing anything else to the theme.

I do have a flashable zip that you can flash with CW3..but its just a rough one... i mainly took the honeycomb fusion flashable zip, put my icons in it, and renamed it to a different name.
This looks really good. I love the stars and the notification really doesn't look that bad. I like the coins and the number next to them. The shells are a cool idea but I think may be better for wifi or signal strength. I think black text in that notification bar would be better than changing the color of it as well. I would certainly look forward to trying this out once your comfortable with how it looks. Keep up the great work!

morbiddevil82,
This is really cool. I'm not even that big into SMB or putting themes my phone, But I would kick the tires on this... kick them real hard.
As for Ideas they are endless, put the best ones that came to mind would be to change the beautiful widget weather icons. Change the sun over to the Angry Dessert Sun. The clouds into the clouds in the background of SMB 1. When its raining it could be that guy that drops the spike balls that crawl around. The moon could be a ghost.
I like the Battery icon as the coin counter.
Still working on this.. have been very busy with other things this week... I'm kicking around ideas and stuff for the dialer and trying hard not to screw up the dialertabactivity.apk lol. Ill post a pic soon of the dialer, when I get back to a computer

Looks really cool but I noticed that it indicates there is a battery and performance impact. Perhaps if it didn't take into account the orientation of the phone and slosh around the liquid the impact would be less.
that is pretty SWEET!
id pay for that too
Liquid Battery, while it may not look as good as the one you refer to, can accomplish a similar effect:

I downloaded the apk and de-compiled it.
Keep in mind, I am not a Dev, I am a Graphics Designer.
I changed all of the images made some minor edits to the smali files and the xml files.
I changed the SDK Version and a number of minor things but I can't get it to work properly.
The problem isn't that it is in low resolution, it is not displaying the bubbles or the ice cubes.
I don't really understand why because it displays the water level just fine.
Like I said, I redone all of the bubble images and re-saved them, re-compiled the apk, signed it and installed.
I get the same results no matter what I do...
The ice cubes and the bubbles don't display, you just get a square white box in their place.
I hope someone picks this up, it is pretty cool. When someone that knows what they are doing gets hold of this it is probably something simple.
Sorry I couldn't help more.

That's further than I got, the ice cubes would be a big improvement.
Someone in another thread stated that it looks like a big Styrofoam box, I tend to agree
I would have to agree with you gadget. I would be content with just the ice cubes working without the bubbles. I am excited to see at least some progress here!

Hi all!
I have recently been playing around with the Sense 2.1 + Gingerbread (aka GingerSense) ROMs, and had to of course port (and improve) my original PCB Sense Theme from days ago. I have been testing it myself for quite a few days, and I'm finally happy with how it turned out, so I wanted to offer it up to all GingerSense XDA users.
Couple of things to note:
This design was meant to be close to stock for those who actually dig the Sense scheme, but want something unique
The file is a 7.7mb signed .APK created using apk-manager 4.9 for Sense 2.1...I may make a Sense 3.0 port if there is enough demand (need to play with .m10 editing still)
It is installable on HDPI devices only by simply copying to your device and running, and is uninstallable by Titanium Backup, or applying another Skin in Sense, and highlighting PCB Sense, then MENU --> DELETE...it doesn't appear in "Settings --> Applications", but why would you want to uninstall it anyways?
I have edited a poopload of images with utmost care and attention to detail including those precious draw9patch ones
The tricky thing with the draw9patch is to have a pattern get 'stretched/repeated' without looking crappy...I believe this may be one of the few Sense themes out there which attempts to skin >90% of resource images (I may be wrong, but still)
I tested (and approved of) this theme on my Desire (Bravo) running LeeDrOiD v3.3.1 and InsertCoin GB
The font used in all screenshots is "Ubuntu", however "Storopia" also compliments the skin nicely
The font used to make the custom clock widget is "OPTICBOT"
This theme took me about 55-60 hours to complete
I've seen some other mods/ports of my theme before, and while I am a believer in sharing and caring, it would be nice if you asked/PM'ed me before using my theme for any other purpose than your own enjoyment. I'm a nice dood, I promise, and it's good to give credit where it's due!
If you'd like to buy me a beer, coffee, or any other kind offering to say thanks, it's greatly appreciated and I will thank you personally... (Donate link is in my post profile)
Anyways, have a look at the preview images below, and please leave your thoughts! I hope you enjoy it!!! (Oh, and keep an eye on this thread for updates)

Note: If you're downloading on a handheld browser and the file is saved with a '.bin' extension, simply rename it to '.apk'
if you like it...that's up to you!

Heya retrosling, if you mean when you are in the "Phone" app, then yes, some images may not be fully skinned, but this is a limitation of the HTC Sense Skin .apk format itself. Note that there are no flashable .zips needed to use this theme, and that should allow it to be installed on multiple devices (with Sense 2.1 of course).
To skin many other components means that I would have to build a flashable .zip which modifies 'framework-res.apk', 'com.htc.resources.apk' and 'SystemUI.apk', and since these are based on certain ROMs, and can therefore be unique, I chose not to go that route for this theme (the logistics/maintenance of handling all bases/versions/ROM-specific customizations for these 3 .apks would be a nightmare of time consumption!)
Believe me, that I skinned nearly every single PNG that would allow it. The only ones missing (for now) would be for landscape support. Once we start getting more GingerSense ROMs with landscape homescreens, I will be adding them though. Good thing for updating is that you'd just have to re-download the .apk (same exact link/filename), and the .XML file defines that it's a newer version, then your phone should ask you if you want to update it. Super clean this .apk Skin route.
To everyone else who offered your great comments/feedback, thank you very much!! It's great to see others enjoying the benefits of the hard work it took to put together this theme!
All the best.
Just tried this on Robocik's v1.2 a2sd cm7 hboot and it does not seem to work.
Have I missed something?
Amazing.
I will say that I have allways found the backdrops you pick very distracting and make the icons hard to see, but then I am addicted to the glactic core live wallpaper - you should try it with the pcb sense - it really ties the screen theme together!
One thing I miss from the old PCB theme is the green circuit board buttons, but then I am sure I will get used to this... (see attached for what I mean)
perhaps an option in the future?
Again, Thanks!!!
Warmly, Marty

Hey ericb, thanks for trying this out on RCMix v1.2...I am not sure why it didn't work for you, as it should be in MENU --> PERSONALIZE --> SKIN. There is nothing specific relating to InsertCoin, so maybe it didn't install properly? Did you get any errors when you clicked on the .apk from a file browser to install it?
Only other thing I can think of would be to "Allow Unknown Sources" in SETTINGS --> APPLICATIONS, which might allow it to install since it isn't a pro-signed .apk.
Let me know though, as yours is the first report that it didn't work

Thanks Marty, this one was for you Anyways, I understand about the wallpaper/backdrop, but one NEEDS to be included in the .apk, and I figured people would pick their favourites anyways. I will also check out that galactic core LW that you love so dearly
I hear ya about the green PCB traces in my old theme version, and I went with grey this time because I wanted to make other colour versions overall. This would give the theme more consistency across all colour mods, since when you press those buttons, they light up green (and in the future, /blue/etc.).
Nothing's impossible though, so if I get a chance, I may make a classic version like that. Otherwise, if you REALLY want it, you can PM me and I can .zip up the files from the old theme so that you can drop them in this .apk and reinstall it...
@scar45
Just checked again and it had loaded ok.
Must have been impatient first time.
Looks really cool with great detailing.
Just need to work out how to change the top and bottom bits of the screen to match your skin.
Currently it is black and doesn't quite enhance yours.
I will feedback any problems.
Thanks for your reply

Great to hear it works for you ericb, thanks for following up to report that.
In terms of your top and bottom bits, if you are able to upload a screenshot that might help, but otherwise I'm not too sure which part you're talking about.

Hey Scar,
Well I slept on it (1.5 hours sleep last night, I am going to be a mess at uni today)
and I have to say I do prefer the one with the green buttons -
It breaks up all the grey a bit, and matches really well with the green traces on the clock.
So I would love a green version if you can make it.. - and I can imagine how cool a red and blue version will look too -
You should sell your theme to HTC and get it included as standard, make some $$$$ its very geeky and DIFFERENT from all the other themes that just look the same.
Warmly, Marty
ps: I will be making a donation in the next week or so, but don't let that influence you in any way.. (ie its not a bribe - you bloody deserve it!) HOWEVER please don't spend it on smokes mate - I have lost both parents to cancer a few years ago, and we just buried my partners mother who also died last week from lung cancer. - only telling you this cause I care ok!

Wow Marty, that's a hard-hitting factual story there, and I first my send my condolences to you and your partner as well. Losing someone to cancer is absolutely horrible, as I have had similar experiences in my life (although thank God no one in my immediate family). I promise you I will never squander any contributions that people send my way, as I really use it to help me stay living in my home and eating food Times are tight, but the joy that one can get from these types of devices is very much worth it.
I will definitely whip up a 'traditional edition' for you and anyone else who wants to download it though, as soon as I get some time (blah blah, broken record on my shortness of 'time' I know )

Sorry to be unclear.
I am talking about the top notification bar and the bottom button bar.
Would be nice to be able to colour match to give a seamless green colour to the skin.
This Skin is the ****! Incredible Work!
Can you also make a Sense 3.0 Skin?

Thank you, its appreciated mate. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
By the way, do you have the framework you use for all the notification icons battery mod etc?? Are you running the CM7 version?
Would love to use it - if I start mucking around in the UOT kitchen, I will never leave - too much choice.
Awesome - thank you! First theme I am actually going to install.
Running on IC CM7 v20, btw.

So it seems this home launcher is picking up some steam again... I thought maybe if I started this thread, we could get some devs on board and pick up support for this great launcher. Show some love and support by posting your screens and if you would like to share your setup, it's up to you (just don't forget; like I did to credit the original creator if you use their work... :0}
Edit: here is the link to download sweeterhome...

Thanks to Reinbeau, here is a tutorial thread since this launcher does have a little learning curve... :0}

Thanks for starting this thread, I do hope the devs work on the launcher again. That said since all the themes are available for download within the launcher, it would be nice if we credited the original ones too right? I see you're using a modded setup of my original theme (sheepo), would be nice if you could mention that too. I have made too many sweeterhome themes to post all here atm, will do later sometime. Look forward to seeing this thread grow.
Lol this homescreen is very nice !

That's promising.. might be worth investigating.. I downloaded the beta and wow it looks like it's boundary is limited by your imagination though a big learning curve for customizing it.

Indeed a very nice launcher, I loved this concept of share to care.
I didn't know it existed until someone posted some screen grabs in a thread I watch recently.
Peeked at the forum and it looks dead & overrun by spam bots. Is the launcher stable enough for daily use? I'm downloading some different themes & messing around & it doesn't seem that hard to do. Will probably play with other people's themes a while before trying out one of my own.

I have been using this as my daily. So far so good. It took me a little while to get used to, but when I started messing around with other themes it all started to make sense... :0}
Sent from my rectangle robot.
I used it as daily for a pretty long time. It's not that it's that hard to customize, it is that it takes so much time!
I played for a while now and it seems pretty straight forward to me for most things. I like how in the sample themes people have made all sorts of setups that go in totally different directions.
Some quick thoughts/questions in no special order:
- User Base: I'm glad to see a couple replies already. I really don't want to get into this if I'm the only one using it. Need to have some people to bounce ideas off of & ask questions.
- Is it still in development, or is it 'finished' just the way it is?
- I like the idea of a slide down to the bottom of the + for all apps, but oddly I'm not seeing the use of the other 3 sides when it seems (off the top of my head) easier to hide & un-hide everything on one screen.
- There still no way to get to the other screens without a slide? Would be nice to make a button with a special action of jumping to one of the other screens.
- In some of the minimal themes, I see the use of the Contacts plugin/widget/thing. I like the look on the themes, but I don't want to see ALL of my contacts, just the favorite dozen or so. Any way to do it that I'm missing, or anyone know of a normal Android Widget that can show something like that?
- Overall, I'm probably going to play for a while & save version after version on my sd card (need to see where is saves, btw) BUT at some point I will really need to think if this method works any better then just Launcher Pro/Go Launcher/more 'normal' android home screens.

One of the main reasons I started this thread was I noticed more and more people using this launcher. It really is amazing how much customizing you can actually do. I was hoping if we get enough users the devs would pick up support for this and more features could be added. I am not sure if there has been any movement on this but the latest beta version was dated February 12th 2012(according to the website.) I too have not really found much use for the other slides but I guess it is nice if anyone uses a lot of widgets or simply just likes the real estate. I have not found if there is a way to jump to another screen by adding a springboard function, but I am still new to the launcher... Overall I feel this is the best launcher I have used as far as customizing goes, being able to move widgets, pictures, text boxes, wallpapers, colors, anywhere on the screen, as well as hide/unhide items; it's a themers dream... Just my two cents... On that note... Let's see some more screens!!!
