And i want to flash the Revolt AOSP Rom v.4.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092960
So what do i have to do before flash this Revolt Rom ?
Which Kernel do i have to flash?
How to flash an another Kernel?
Please help me, because i don't want do brick my Note!
Sorry for the bad Language, because i'm from Germany but i still try my best.
I know that here in XDA are some Masterminds and Users with a lot of expirience so i hope that somebody could help me.
to flash Revolt now, just download the .zip file and flash via the PhilZ recovery. No need to flash a different kernel.
to flash a kernel, first check if it is compatible with the ROM and then download .zip file of the kernel and flash via recovery, or the .tar file via ODIN.
So thats mean that when i flash a new rom its also flashing a new kernel ?
I heard that PhilZ Kernel are safe so its mean that i can flash every Rom (TW, AOSP, Sense)
trough PhilZ CWM ?
Yes, PhilZ kernel is a safe kernel meaning you can do all sorts of wipes and flash ROMs, compatible Kernels, MODs. Now when you will flash Revolt, the PhilZ kernel will be replaced by the CM kernel (also safe). And Sense ROMs are not there yet for the N7000!
OK thank you
I will flash Revolt Rom in a few days, because i want to have a new vanilla Android expirience and till now i was only on TW based Roms.

I change file bcm4330.ko stock and add file apn-config in file boot fix.
The reason of wifi error after flashing the rom or kernel by using recovery, recent recovery is very unstable for changing boot.img.
if the module 'bcm4330.ko' is not compatable with kernel, that prob is accured.
To solve that, flashing 'bcm4330' by recovery and flashing directly the proper kernel by .. fastboot flash boot boot.img.. .
Should check the kernal version information on the phone, then if the information is not matched with notice by builder,
or meet any wifi issue, flash boot.img directly by using fastboot flash boot boot.img.. .
thank boyppc

It should be safe as SPEEDMOD has MMC_CAP_ERASE disabled. I wouldn't be able to tell you it's 100% safe as the only thing I've tried via CWM are flashing several zips, wiping dalvik/cache and nandroid backup. Haven't tried flashing a rom or doing a factory reset via CWM. Im using Speedmod k3-3 btw
Personally I wouldn't flash any custom roms until this whole hardbrick fiasco is fixed officially by samsung. I am not confident enough to flash custom roms yet. I love my note and contented with stock+custom kernel, I couldn't afford to have it bricked.
My advice if you really want a custom rom, is to read the rom's installation instructions carefully, follow them and don't miss a step and as the old xda
saying goes, "FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK"
Good Luck!
As long as you will flash them from GB base and will never use Factory Reset / Data Wipe while on any ICS ROM you'll most definitely be safe. There's no 100% guarantee, but ROMs like CM9 use safe kernel and updated their update scripts to kill this bug.
right now I am on jb leak ROM 4.1 by eybee
I want to flash alliance jb beta ROM
is it safe to flash this ROM on top of my present ROM ?
am I on a safe kernel.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
flashing instructions from alliance thread is given below
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
HOW TO FLASH ?
Coming from a non ICS ROM (GGB) or AOSP ROM get to a rooted stock TW ICS ROM first
Rooted TW ICS/JB ROM:
Flash via ROM-Customizer coming from any rooted ROM:
1. Download CustomSettings.apk HERE
2. Put it on your sdcard,
3. Open romcustomizer/flash file from sd and flash as a system app (popup will give you the choice).
4. Choose the ROM-flash settings you want in "romcustomizer/rom-settings" but be sure to tick wipe
5. Then go back to flash file from sdcard where u need to select the ROM(AllianceROM_N7000_JB-XXLS2-Base.zip)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
i don't understand the third and fourth steps .could some one please explain it
usually i flash via cwm and I watch tutorial videos ...but that's not the case here.. any help is appreciated.
my current device info

read op in alliance thread..
he says to flash via rom customizer.folow every step and it is not hard.
you should use it and wont have any problem
you can flash via CWM. but it is not reccomended. Thats why op removed the second option to flash via cwm.
I wanted to try Alerson jw8 2.3.6.. the instructions said to first flash official jw8 rom...I cannot find any jw8 rom for my region, I'm in Saudi Arabia, my fone is as follows

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
now my nooby questions are
1.can I flash ANY jw8 on my fone and it'll work ?.as far as I can tell, the only differences between different stock roms comes from different CSC files...so can I flash a jw8 and use the JPJV6 CSC file I'm currently using with it ???
2.what happens if we flash without any CSC file at all ?
3.and finally can someone plz recommend me a good GB rom/kernal combo..I need speed, tired of all the lag, was thinking of Gamerz rom but found out it does not support RTL languages (Arabic as I'm in saudia).. so what other good options are there.
4. oh and 1 last question... can I mix and match roms and kernals ? can I for example put semaphore kernal in my stock rom and see a better faster/smother experience ?
Thank you for taking time and helping out
1: Yes
2: It will still work. You can simply flash the PDA in PC ODIN.
3: Try XXJW6 with CF Root kernel 4.4 JW4. OR Try XWVZ with semaphore kernel 2.7.4.sc OR Try XWJW8 with speedmod K17-3 kernel.
4: Yes you can.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Dinesh.
Hi,
right now I have the latest nightly of CM 10.1 running on my N7 WiFI (grouper).
I suppose if I'd want to return to the google stock rom (rooted of course), I will have to flash the stock rom file via cwm recovery.
Is this correct?
Can somebody tell me where to find the 4.2.2 stock rom for this device?
Thanks!
Andreas

Rgrds,
Ged.
If you are just looking for a stock rom experience, try this.

Towards the bottom I have a stock rooted rom. Only changes is it is rooted, initial.d enabled, and busybox installed (some updated apps that are not odexed). You can also of course try some of my mods too if you like.
