Hi,
I purchased a HTC one back in May which is the one of the left. I had some problems with the usb cable
not staying so Rogers sent me a replacement device. The 2nd replacement had a Yellow tint so then Rogers
sent me a third device with the same tinting.
I prefer the more bluer tint however which is the one that is defective? The Blueish or the Yellowish?
I have searched the web and have found little information, mostly on other HTC Devices.
Any input would be greatly appreciated

Same with me (also with Rogers), and got 3 phones with 3 different colour temperatures. However, the other factors (build quality) is more important to me. When you get used to it, you probably cannot tell which colour temperatures you have.
Well I think it has to do with both phones that were sent me were Refurbished and my original one was to be
covered by their product protection plan (Asurance) however Rogers made an error and setup the wrong line on my
account so I could not put through a valid claim. So with the two phones that have been sent to me I have been
looking over them with a fine tooth comb.

Why did Rogers send you refurbished phone? How do you know they were refurbished?

The boxes that were sent to me were in Rogers "Red" boxes along with a disclaimer that they were refurbished devices.
They had to send me devices as they made an error with their "premium" device protection plan and I had a claim and the
3rd party insurance company would not honour based on Rogers error. The first device they sent me had to go back because
of the screen tint and that there was a large scratch on the back side of the device.
same issue, I've bought a black international unlocked HTC ONE from amazon.uk around 3 months ago, today I received a new HTC ONE (because the old one have a low charging issue).
I see on new HTC ONE display a strong yellow tint .... so the difference between two screens is big! .. see the image below:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/548546/IMG_0028.JPG
so is possible that I must have to wait only for the adhesive to dry? I do not remember that with my first HTC I had this problem...
How can I try to fix? how can I check what brand of display was on the two HTC?
Had this happen also with AT&T personally prefer the cold/blueish tint. Just my personal preference. Couldnt stand the Yellow whites

So... disappointed result...
I found my one has dead-pixel.
A green pixel on screen, when its background colour is 'black'
I need to ask my retailer for replace new one. Oh god...
How do I do?
(Sorry for title, It is 'STUCK Pixel' not 'dead pixel')
I dont know what the policy is in South Korea but in the UK it gets messy
Basically vendors say it is OK to have dead pixels as long as it does not exceed X amount - X being I think 5
As the unit is very new, the best solution in the UK would be to reject the item under distant selling regulations (which you get 7 days) and NOT reject on the fact it is faulty.
If you do faulty, it could get rejected as a claim as 1 DP is considered fine...also it could if they wanted to, get repaired and not replaced

Thanks. Actually, In Korea, dead-pixel is quite serious claim from users.
I am going to report this fault to retailer and send back it ASAP. I wish to get new device.
By the Way, If I replace new one, I am afraid I might wait another a month for TD2.
Oh my god...
Apologies if I get your location incorrect...I saw the flag being South Korea but then just noticed your location being Oxford - UK
Well again if UK... I know most vendors are still showing 10 odd in stock ... where is yours from?

MY retailer is Mobilephonedirect.
Today customer centre is closed so I send e-mail to them and looking forward to receiving reply.
By the way, If the suggest for fixing, is it reasonable idea? Well... I am not sure.
Sad to hear this dude...
There was a program, that tries to fix dead pixels.. I googled it and I think it was this one:

Thanks for your reply.
Firstly, I wait for retailer's reply and than will try use this program.
jscreenfix may work if it a stuck pixels (changes the RGB of each pixel fast to jog it to work) if not you can us UK long distance (Internet) selling legislation to return the device (change mind and dont want) in think 14 days or if bought on contract you still have the same protection
What are the first 3 letters of you serial number should determine the HTC country of manufacture

Firstly, I apology term of confusion.
It is 'stuck pixels' (My fault is 'a green' pixel on 'black' background).
By the way, I try run jscreenfix but the symptom is still going.
I am just looking for reply from retailer (Mobilephonesdirect).
Finally, My first 3digit of S/N is 'HT9'.
Looks like there is more then one thread on this topic.......See
HTC Builds most handsets in Taiwan (SN starts HT) or china the Taiwan models are usually more refined in manufacture and component quality. with previous touch models "Touch" "Touch Dual" this was very clear when the handsets are placed together with the Chinese made having a very poor screen, HTC also has a habit of tighter quality control on its network commission handsets (Network branded usually better standard) because of higher costs for return passed on from service provider
How can you see a single pixel between 384000 (800x480) of them ??
So whats the matter about one single tiny little dot that you never see?!

Ok.. I can find 'A tiny GREEN DOT' on 'Black' background.
Most Background colour of Touch Diamond2 is black and it is quite uncomfortable for me.

Many peaple can see a single dead/stuck pixel on a 1080P HDTV up to feet away. Mybe you should ceck your eyesight I would be pissed too if my phone had one (or more)
I guess you are unlucky if the retailer refuses to replace your phone . . . carriers would replace it on the spot for dead pixels, like with the Fuze.

Firstly, I have right to return until next Saturday so within a week I ask to retailer at the least to replace or fix LCD.
(The best solution is to replace new phone but it might be too hard)
I am afraid how do I do at tomorrow.
I think you should phone them and talk it over, it might be easier to get them to replace it over the phone.

Thanks. Already, I called to retailer but Customer Centre was closed. Instead of, I sent e-mail to them.
Firstly, I wait reply from them.
Oh.... It is so challenge for me.
I've got reply from retailer (Mobilephonesdirect) and they allow to return my TD2.
After inspection, they will send back it (or new one) to me.
I wish it should be new one.
Oh... My waiting is extended...
Came across this looking for a camera for someone on here.. http://www.globaldirectparts.com/HTC-Droid-Incredible-Replace-Repair-Parts-s/6283.htm
On another note.. I found the front camera for the EVO(see pic). Now that would be a helluva mod for the DInc.. if there is a slot to plug that thing in and someone willing to drill a hole in their screen.
How about a digitizer with the HTC Logo rather than the Verizon one? (Also, see pic.. I'm starting to love this site.
Now if I could only get a digitizer with the Sprint logo for my Dinc.

I wonder why it isn't compatible...?
I would imagine its because Verizon doesnt endorse removing their name from your phone.. I cant see that there would be a difference in operation.

This isn't Verizon selling the parts? There must be some different between the two, or they probably wouldn't post the disclaimer.
The verizon one doesn't say you can't use with the htc branded phone. In fact the verizon one states that there is one also available without the verizon brand. I bet verizon complained so they added that to maker them happy
Sent from my Incredible using tapatalk.
So does anybody wanna split some parts? This site really stinks that they require x units per order. I wish they would just raise the price per unit a bit to cover overhead.
I'm interested in a HTC digitizer and some rear speakers (mines blown!)
I need a new camera bezel, mines dented and then I pealed it off and now the double sided tape hardly sticks. I wish i would have just left it alone.
Digitizer
If you look at the connectors for the digitizers you will notice that they are different. That is why the HTC branded one won't work with the Verizon branded phones.
Hello Guys,
I'm a little stuck, I had a glass of water that spilt over my phone and it's damaged the SLCD screen.
I'm after a new screen and will fit it myself as HTC will not fit a new one at a charge as it's not a part of thier policy. I've searched around for phone repair but don't trust sending my phone off.
I've searched around for screens and where i've come stuck is that I thought that the HD7 has a SLCD screen? I've only come across LCD screens. See link below of one I may purchase if correct? Edit well turns out I can't post links.
Can any correct me if I'm wrong? I don't want to buy a cheap screen and waste my money.
Hi,
The only HD7's on the market at this time that actually have an SLCD screen are those sold by AT&T and are listed as the "HD7S". All other HD7's have a standard LCD display.
If you bought yours from AT&T then you have an SLCD, if not then its just a standard LCD.
Hope that helps...

I wonder if the s screen would work on a hd7???? A brighter screen sure would be nice.

if iam not mistaked the HD7 from bell also carries an SLCD and is essentially a unbranded HD7S. Bells website clearly promotes the phones SLCD on their site. Correct me if iam wrong please.
**Ive also compared my HD7 from bell to t-mobiles and there is a difference in the quality, more so in the viewing angles and color depth.**

Luck of the draw.
so hit and miss on white as well as black .. its a shame samsung didnt sort out their screens before they sold the white version
My white had a worse screen than my black.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
It doesn't matter if it's white or black ultimately. Because the screens are manufacturered independently and will be supplied to assembly lines as they need it I'd imagine. I do not think it would be cost effective from a production perspective to have every single factory be capable of producing the AMOLED screens. So I'd imagine it's only a certain number of factories dedicated to producing the screens which are then subsequently shipped out to the various manufacturing lines.
Hence, luck of the draw.
mm not good ... im wondering whether its worth sticking to the black and try again from amazon or try a totally new company (as ive had two dodgy screens from amazon) clove or handtec ?? £492 with free samsung cover
what do you suggest any experience of either company in the uk ?

I would try to get a drastically different seller in an attempt to get one that's from a different manufacturing line.
Either that, or wait until Handtec or Amazon is out of stock and replenishes the stock.
I have spoke to clove they have ordered me one direct from their supplier as they had run out of the white version fingers crossed its a good screen
I was wondering if it was possible to take a silver Verizon HTC One and change the body to black. I was thinking if I found a way to purchase the body/case of a black HTC One, took the silver body/casing off and changed it for the black body, I might be able to have a Black HTC One on Verizon.
Does anyone know if this idea would work? From what I understand Verizon is not going to offer a Black HTC One when the Verizon store opens in a few hours. This would mean I need a black body/case from a phone on another carrier, I am assuming that the dimensions of the Verizon/AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile HTC One's are all the same.

Good luck with that bro. You're gonna need it.
While its possible, you are seriously recommended not to tamper with the phone. Many people around here have destroyed their phones.
On the flipside, a few have reported it to be not that hard. I dunno.
There's some debate on hardware differences between devices from the various carriers (T-Mobile's has 1700MHz band, which the others lack and no one has been able to figure out how to activate it on non-TMO phones) but nothing that would affect the frame.
You can actually buy the housing fairly cheaply on eBay. Front and back housing runs about $40. Your main problem is going to be getting the phone open. HTC went out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to get into. There are no screws, the phone is held together by a very strong adhesive and some clips that aren't accessible from the outside. Opening it will also void your warranty.
This video will give you an idea of the level of work involved:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyrxa23OwME
You can also take a look at the IFIXIT article. Google it for "HTC ONE IFIXIT TEARDOWN". I've tried to post the link, but i wasn't allowed to do that (10 posts limit)
You will need lucky and BALLS
edit: nevermind, didn't read closely enough.
