Luck of the draw.
so hit and miss on white as well as black .. its a shame samsung didnt sort out their screens before they sold the white version
My white had a worse screen than my black.

It doesn't matter if it's white or black ultimately. Because the screens are manufacturered independently and will be supplied to assembly lines as they need it I'd imagine. I do not think it would be cost effective from a production perspective to have every single factory be capable of producing the AMOLED screens. So I'd imagine it's only a certain number of factories dedicated to producing the screens which are then subsequently shipped out to the various manufacturing lines.
Hence, luck of the draw.
mm not good ... im wondering whether its worth sticking to the black and try again from amazon or try a totally new company (as ive had two dodgy screens from amazon) clove or handtec ?? £492 with free samsung cover
what do you suggest any experience of either company in the uk ?

I would try to get a drastically different seller in an attempt to get one that's from a different manufacturing line.
Either that, or wait until Handtec or Amazon is out of stock and replenishes the stock.
I have spoke to clove they have ordered me one direct from their supplier as they had run out of the white version fingers crossed its a good screen

Hello Guys,
I'm a little stuck, I had a glass of water that spilt over my phone and it's damaged the SLCD screen.
I'm after a new screen and will fit it myself as HTC will not fit a new one at a charge as it's not a part of thier policy. I've searched around for phone repair but don't trust sending my phone off.
I've searched around for screens and where i've come stuck is that I thought that the HD7 has a SLCD screen? I've only come across LCD screens. See link below of one I may purchase if correct? Edit well turns out I can't post links.
Can any correct me if I'm wrong? I don't want to buy a cheap screen and waste my money.
Hi,
The only HD7's on the market at this time that actually have an SLCD screen are those sold by AT&T and are listed as the "HD7S". All other HD7's have a standard LCD display.
If you bought yours from AT&T then you have an SLCD, if not then its just a standard LCD.
Hope that helps...

I wonder if the s screen would work on a hd7???? A brighter screen sure would be nice.

if iam not mistaked the HD7 from bell also carries an SLCD and is essentially a unbranded HD7S. Bells website clearly promotes the phones SLCD on their site. Correct me if iam wrong please.
**Ive also compared my HD7 from bell to t-mobiles and there is a difference in the quality, more so in the viewing angles and color depth.**
So, I also have an HD2 with a broken screen (LCD and Digitiser) , which I'm looking to replace.
However in my search for a new LCD + Digitser combo, I've come across a number of ebay listings claiming to be a "Second generation" LCD screen.
Was there actually an updated screen on the HD2 like there was on the the original desire for instance, or is this a bit of gammy "marketecture"
I've looked around to any reference for an updated LCD on the HD2 but haven't been able to find anything to back the sellers claim up. If there was an update on the screen, what was the difference between them?
I guess as a follow on question, has anyone had any experience with a bad replacement LCD screen? Are they all the same? or are some of lower quality or do they more battery or aren't as bright as others?
I'm aware of the physical differences between the t-mobile version and the standard 8585, and know what sort I need to get (mine is a t-mo). But just wondering what your experience has been?
Thanks in advance.
its real
the international version of the HD2 was first shipped with a LCD unit that had many problems, later models were then fitted with a better one.
All TMOUS models have the newer, better screen
also heard that the early models shipped with another screen but i don't know about the tmous model.
i think it was the same with the hardware keys. on the phone of a friend of mine they fit much tighter than on my phone and he got his one about one year after the release.
i have got an old one and it's working well for almost 2 years when the hd2 was released here in germany.
and i think there are no differences in brightness or contrast.
Hello, there have been two gaps on my first HTC One, so I ordered a replacement device which arrived yesterday.
The first thing I noticed is, that the new phone is made in China while the first was made in Taiwan. Not a big deal, i hope.
Then, after using the phone in low light conditions i noticed that the screen is much brighter than on my first phone. I have checked the panel_id, and both display are Samsung C2. Why is the screen from the china manufactured phone brighter on highest setting than on the taiwan manufactured phone?
Also, the softkeys on the taiwan phone are white, while on the china manufactured one are blueish...
Also, when tapping on the glass with the fingernails the taiwan and chinese phone sound different, as if the taiwan phone is a little bit more solid.
Can you explain these differences? And which phone should I keep now? There is also a slight gap on the newer one, and I have chosen to deal with these gaps now. But which phone should I keep, Taiwan or China?
Thanks for your help!

Can you please tell me why you think the Taiwan phone is superior to the Chinese phone?
Also, I did notice another thing: The digitizer lines on the Taiwan phone are clearly visible in direct sunlight, where those from the chinese phone are hard to see.
I can almost guarantee you that the 2 phones from different factories does not determine its difference in quality that you seem to perceive. There will be variances even in the same factory.
I can tell you from personal experience. My friend had the milky white colored buttons, and my mine had the blueish tint. Both of them were HT34s (made in Taiwan), but his screen was also brighter than mines. I went to get mine exchanged for the white tint because I'm pretty picky about my devices too, and the sales rep there let me go through 3 different ones before we found one without the blue tint. Also the screen of all of them were never as bright as my friend's. Keep in mind they were all new, sealed devices, all from Taiwan, and all produced on the same day (HT34P). So I'm guessing the phones manufactured in China and elsewhere will have the same variances.
You will never notice the tapping of the glass and the digitizer lines when you have only one phone in the end, so really I think you should weigh what matters to you more and return the other.
Hi,
I purchased a HTC one back in May which is the one of the left. I had some problems with the usb cable
not staying so Rogers sent me a replacement device. The 2nd replacement had a Yellow tint so then Rogers
sent me a third device with the same tinting.
I prefer the more bluer tint however which is the one that is defective? The Blueish or the Yellowish?
I have searched the web and have found little information, mostly on other HTC Devices.
Any input would be greatly appreciated

Same with me (also with Rogers), and got 3 phones with 3 different colour temperatures. However, the other factors (build quality) is more important to me. When you get used to it, you probably cannot tell which colour temperatures you have.
Well I think it has to do with both phones that were sent me were Refurbished and my original one was to be
covered by their product protection plan (Asurance) however Rogers made an error and setup the wrong line on my
account so I could not put through a valid claim. So with the two phones that have been sent to me I have been
looking over them with a fine tooth comb.

Why did Rogers send you refurbished phone? How do you know they were refurbished?

The boxes that were sent to me were in Rogers "Red" boxes along with a disclaimer that they were refurbished devices.
They had to send me devices as they made an error with their "premium" device protection plan and I had a claim and the
3rd party insurance company would not honour based on Rogers error. The first device they sent me had to go back because
of the screen tint and that there was a large scratch on the back side of the device.
same issue, I've bought a black international unlocked HTC ONE from amazon.uk around 3 months ago, today I received a new HTC ONE (because the old one have a low charging issue).
I see on new HTC ONE display a strong yellow tint .... so the difference between two screens is big! .. see the image below:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/548546/IMG_0028.JPG
so is possible that I must have to wait only for the adhesive to dry? I do not remember that with my first HTC I had this problem...
How can I try to fix? how can I check what brand of display was on the two HTC?
Had this happen also with AT&T personally prefer the cold/blueish tint. Just my personal preference. Couldnt stand the Yellow whites

Hi
My Galaxy S home button got a bit wet and it won't work. I will try to separate the screen from the frame soon. However I would like to know where to order Galaxy S replacements.
I would like to order the frame and the screen separately and stick them in a way that they are easy to tear apart in case my home button breaks again. How could I achieve this?
I also saw lots of ebay sellers and amazon seller selling replacement screens, claiming they are original, compatible, with logo, and all that stuff.
So I wonder, are there different Galaxy S screens? How can you know which ones are original or not? Which ones are good or bad? etc
For example on AliExpress there are different ones like this
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free...reen-assembly-Black-color-100/1185287851.html (Claims to be original)
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...-Assembly-Black-Free-shipping/1659713345.html (no idea if it's original or not)
Thanks!

I always use eBay to get my Galaxy S parts. I usually buy half broken phones and salvage parts from them. Or buy new parts from seller's in my own country with good ratings. I try and stay away from Chinese parts, they are cheaper but usually poorer quality in my opinion.

The main problem about the screen is that the AMOLED screen burns fast and loses color. So I would preffer a new original one, or a copy which is nearly as the original

Thank you TheFastGT
The replacement screen worked perfectly, but after all I didn't get to need it since I didn't break the original screen while trying to fix the button.
Button is fixed and cell phone is working perfectly.
