Hi
First of all my definition of full casing=
1)Battery cover
2)Inner/middle case
3) front/outer trim
I have just bought a used I8190n and would like to replace number 1) and 3)
Of course 1) the battery cover its easy, but I am struggling to find any video or method in how to change 3)
Perhaps someone could be kind enough to explain or provide a link btw most videos I have seen and showing LCD digitizer change, all I want to know is how to change the outer rim around it
Cheers
Also would adding custom recovery (TRWP or CWM) and having NO root affect having a pure stock Rom function

The solution to all your problems is to search and read the Wiki and stickies. All have been discussed before. You can flash custom ROMs to fix the bloating. There are mobile versions of flash players. Youtube videos are possible. Just search and search and read the Wiki.
I also have a "fake" one but I'm meanwhile happy
Didn't flash a 6.1 yet and stick with the ATT second version so far (will wait until things are more stable).
Some tips BEFORE you install ALL you like, guess you didn't look yet into UC...
- Check your current ROM and flash the latest AT&T ROM (RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.14.09R2_Ship.exe) can be found on the ATT or HTC/ATT side.
- After flashing and setting up the basics (tab screen yadayadayada) the tilt will reboot. Have your stylus ready after the first boot you have ~ 3 sec to ram the sylus in the little whole, if you miss it ALL bloatware will be installed. Worst case do it all over again.
- Get a good reg. editor and file manager (PHM, Total Commander).
- Install HTC Home 6 and HHC Home Customizer
From there on you should be quiet happy with appearance and speed (for a good start at least).
Look around for dialers you like (wizard retouched dialer) and be careful with some com managers because you may not be able to connect to wireless or even network (required registry tweak thus the editor above). Download and store ATTDEFAULT.CAB (should be the right name) in case you mess something up...
That made me happy.
Hi
I’ve just recently bought a new Kaiser of ebay, it is sim unlocked and is not branded by any network on the phone itself. On the home page, the bottom two buttons are contacts and planet 3. I want to remove planet 3 and replace it with “calendar” like normal Kaisers have. Also on start up, after the smart mobility display and before the “windows mobile” display appears, it show a white background with the green 3.I would like to remove this too if possible. Is there anyway of removing/replacing these with something else? And can someone give me the steps of doing so. Thanks in advance.
Does your kaiser have the front camera? If so, would you want to trade for an AT&T Tilt branded kaiser, that is sim unlocked as well?
remove planet 3
Hi
Yes it does. However I do not wish to swap. I am happy with it, I just would be happier if someone could please help me remove the planet 3 and network 3 start-up symbol from the phone. It would be much appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction please. Thanks
all auto start up stuff is
1
started from \windows\startup\ shortcuts
2
started from the reg
3
started as today items
remove it from there and it's gon

Hi
Thank you. When I open windows-startup it shows three files none of them are a file called "shortcuts". The three files are btdwake.ink, poutlook.ink, sddaemon.ink?
Sorry to be a nuisance but can u explain a bit more please? Also you wouldn't know how to remove the planet 3 on the home page would you too? Thanks a lot.
The one after animation is \Windows\welcomehead.96.png - remove it (replace it).
Better way is to do a hardreset and the best way is to flash original HTC ship ROM from their site or, if you want to experiment, try Kaiser ROM development section.

Hi
thanks you. i still cannot find a file named "welcomehead.96.png" iv'e looked through the entire "windows" file for it and used the search option. If i do a hardreset will i loose things on my mobile's storage and same if i flash it? would i have to re-unlock my mobile to except any sim or wouldnt it do anything to the sim unlock if i hardreset/flashed it?
When HR-ing or flashing, you usually lost everything on the ROM, storage card (miniSD) is left untouched. For unlocking you should see Kaiser ROM development section, where in stickied thread, is everything explained or linked to explanation. The only exception for deleting data is flashing original ROMs - they shouldn't disappear - shouldn't => but might.
If you can't see the file, just drop there your own . It was probably already flashed via someone before you, maybe you have already HardSPL-ed your device?

I tried a hard reset, however it did not remove the 3 symbol or planet 3. Can someone give me a direct link to download the original HTC ship ROM please? the phone is currently running with 6.1 Professional I would like this to remain the same if possible. Thanks

Hi
I have managed to find a program that has fixed the planet 3 problem. it's called soft key manager and it can be downloaded here if anyone else needs it :
http://fantasticbytes.com/products/softkeymanager
it replaces the soft key shortcuts with other things/programs and it's just what i needed .
now it's just the network 3 start up symbol i want to remove. Has anyone else got any ideas on how to remove this on start-up?
Is there a mod currently available to lock the touchscreen by toggle, while retaining display, and ability to use trackball and keypad? Merry Xmas!! Thanx!
You could break your digitizer, try dropping it face down a few times and see if it breaks it. =p
I'm not sure which files control the touch input, and don't know if removing them will decrease stability. You could try to take a look at the disassembally guide and see if there is a hardware mod you could do as well.
But I'm sure you will get the question of why you want to do that. It sounds like you want to make it like a blackberry type phone.

no, i def don't want a blackberry. I would just like having the screen on without the possibility of touch input sometimes. i.e when i put it in my pocket for a sec without locking the phone and bring it out and it's adding a widget, or on another screen. while using the keyboard it would also be nice to be able to lock the touch, especially if you are typing in more than one session so you cant disturb it by inadvertent swipes or touches. anyways it's just an idea and not something i'm willing to start breaking parts of my g1 to see if it will work. thought maybe someone else had the idea or maybe there was an app for that
Does anyone have a guide to disassembling an AT&T HTC Pure. I can't manage to expose the internal antenna so i can get to the screws near it. If anyone could help I would be so thankful.
Is this of any help to you? (its Topaz not Pure)

HTC Pure
After extensive looking - this link looked promising however the original question is not answered here. The back panel where the internal antennae is already off in the video whearas the question is how to remove it.
Does anyone know how to or where to find a video explaining how to get to the second set of screws on the HTC Pure ? ( ST6356 )
I had been beset by the same problem as I had to replace the damaged screen. It is is not really as difficult as it seems. HTC Pure is same as HTC Topaz or Diamond 2 except for the location of bottom screws which are located under the plate under the front which is glued with double sided tape and can can be easily pried open. Then follow any guide for Topaz. There is very helpful guide in Russian. Just paste the link in Google Chrome browser and translate it. Here are the relevant links...

Guide for replacing screen
I'd like to make the Swype keyboard, in portrait mode, SMALLER, so that it takes up less vertical space on the screen. I've tried a couple of the LCD Density programs, which apparently do their magic in a way which Swype ignores
How can I configure Swype to be smaller in portrait mode? (I rarely use landscape mode, and really don't care about it).
Thanks,
Jay
Galaxy Tab P1000 (Europe, GSM), running Baseband version P1000XXJPZ, Build number GINGERBREAD.XXJQ1, Firmware version 2.3.3, kernel version 2.6.35.7 [email protected]#2 (rooted).
smaller ? ppl are looking in how to make it bigger
hmmmm , i know how to make it smaller , but you need ( Decompile - Compile ) and i'm not sure after you make it smaller it will work properly or no
hoping for something slightly less intrusive

Thanks for the idea. I'm hoping for something slightly less intrusive than that
I realise I'm probably expecting too much of the Swype software developers, to have actually put a font/size/magnification variable in their code in a way that can be tweaked straightforwardly...
Any other ideas?
Thanks!
Jay
It is possible using v. 3.9. version . You can resize the keyboard and move in 3 position: left, centre and right. I attached the portrait picture with full size but can be done as in landscape mode (see below).
I may be hijacking the thread a little, but it is definitely related, since I don't think I can follow the excellent advice which badmania98 kindly gave because of this other issue:
On my Samsung Galaxy Tab (rooted, running an Android 2.3.3 version) Swype says it is version 2.23.65.17423.830.GTP1000. I can't even guess how to relate that to the Swype v3.9 which badmania98 mentioned, and I certainly don't know how to change my Swype version.
And just to make things worse, this version of Swype is massively inferior to the version which had come on the Tab with its factory original Android 2.2 - it makes errors ten times as often as the older version did.
So, on the Galaxy Tab, is it possible to replace the built-in Swype with different/ newer/ better/ heck at this point I'd even take older version???
Thanks!
Jay
