What has failed. Are you referring to my post or the fact that you cannot get what you want without root

I'm rooted with a locked bootloader, if I update will I lose the root?
Sent from my LT30at
Yes, but there currently is no update available for LT30at.
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
You're right. That was odd, there was a notification saying an update was available. When I tapped, it told me I was up to date.
Sent from my LT30at
And actually you should not lose root with an OTA update.

Do You need root?
If You like to delete some useless apps which You cannot delete without root acces or You wanna install apps which must have root access to be installed and used - than YES.
If You are not in need of those things - don't bother rooting.

Yes, me again. I have patience and love to help people who find this stuff new and unexplored
PS root it

Rooting allows you to unlock the full potential (at least 80%, Unlocking bootloader the other 20%) of the Xperia, stock sound is really quiet so even if you root and install puresound mod is worth it

Dear XDA users!
I got my T-mobile branded Xperia Z C6603 with 10.3.1.A.2.67 firmware.
I want to root it, i read a lot tutorials, but i don't understood what i have to do.
When I dial the service nuber, in the configuration the rooting status is: Bootloader unlock allowed: NO.
So i don't know how to unlock and root it.
Please help me.
Thanks
You cannot unlock the bootloader, but you should be able to root your xz with kingo android

Don't think you should recommend Kingo Root to users.
The program tries to contact servers in China for the root, for no reason and the developer of the application refuses to answer any questions regarding it.
It WAS discussed In this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460745& 'til a mod closed it due to lack of response from the software developer and it seems insecure

The title says it all: will my Xperia Z1 get bricked/wiped or damaged in any way if I try to root the .257 version with Kingo ROOT v1.1.1?

Not at all likely. At the worst it just won't work. If you ever have anything go wrong though you can just repair through PC Companion anyways
