For me, it is because I can't run any CM based rom without the Sleep of Death... So it is sort of like this, either I sell my phone and buy another just as good and perfect as my HTC One that can run MIUI CM or non CM based. OR I use a Sense based MIUI which I'm literally dying for.

Do you know how far away a release of any kind of sense or ge based MIUI for our HTC Ones is?
I'm going to be going s-off and super cid tonight and will update my firmware and re-try Ady's miui but If I still hit sleep of death I'll be waiting out for a sense based or ge based MIUI for my one. So I know it probably is really hard, but I was wondering if anyone has plans to make a HTC Sense rom for the droid 3. I would make it myself, but I have no idea how. I saw a video on Sense running on Droid 1 via Rom. So I know it is possible. To all the developers, it would be very popular, a lot of people like Sense.

This thread does not belong here.
I also doubt that we'll ever have a Sense rom (unless we have a very experienced dev who has worked in both Sense and Blur environments that could port it over) at least anytime soon. If we were to have one, lots of things would be broken.

I can't understand the irony here.
Was done for the MS1, I cant see why can't be done for the D3.
And altough I casnt like a lot the Sense aesthetic, is pretty evident that the sense fw is light years ahead the amateur motorola UI.
So yes would be nice to have the sense FW ported to the D3.

Wow, your a beast with roms. Sense 3.0 is good with me, anything else is icing on the cake. You should totally do it. You gonna do it? I know just by looking at this, that it will be pretty popular. Who said sense 3 ?
The OP asked about sense in general. Sense 2 is still light years more powerful and refined then the very latest motoblur.
If there's a reason because we sont see this happen is because the user base, original milestones and droids were true milestones, and come practically in the desert.
the D3 is just an average phone, sold side by side with a zillion of other phones.
Droid 3 was sold in millions of pieces, ms1 in hundreds of thousands, this surely won't happen with the D3.
And, as usual, larger user base = more developers involved = more chances to have the SW you need.
I said Sense 3.0. Got a problem with that?

As far as I know, it's not available yet. The devs are stil trying to get AOSP running bug free with everything working from what I have read. I'm sure someone will pick it up once AOSP is fixed though and dev MIUI. Most of the devices tend to have at least one dev/team working on MIUI from what I have noticed.

Wrong. Go look in the One Android Development. It uses a SENSE kernel. That's why they got the Sense Camera to work. They are also porting over other Sense apps too. It has the Sense framework without the UI. It is not true AOSP. Read up before correcting me. I don't post without knowing facts.

It uses HTC's 3.4.10 kernel. The way it worked was Google supplied the ROM and Samsung and HTC supplied the kernels in order to get the ROM working on their hardware. It's not so much a "Sense" kernel as it is a HTC specific hardware kernel.
Howevere, this is pretty much just semantics.
edit: I did read the thread in the ONE forum and one person says the phrase "it has the Sense framework without the UI." No one else says this is true. HTC manipulated thier kernel in order to get it to run Google's ROM. Although the Sense 5 camera was ported over, it does not fully work and many of the apps just FC.

This. Just because the apps work doesn't mean that it's Sense.
On the S4 4.3 leak, they've also been able to get some S-apps to work, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it has the Samsung framework (which it doesn't).

The GE rom is built on the sense framework. HTC did this back in the day with some of its early devices(G2, G2x..etc). Those devices were AOSP looking but built on their common sense framework. So its a kinda Frankenstein rom.

keep digging yourself into the hole
To the OP, I could be wrong, but I believe the reason people are excited about the bootloader and recovery being ported is that it could be like completely converting their normal Sense HTC One to a Google Play edition, even receiving updates like the real ones.
For us Sprint users, it all comes down to the kernel, as our phones are CDMA and require a whole separate kernel. As we do not have an official 4.2.2 update, there is no fully functioning kernel yet that can be used to make things work.
This is my layman's version that makes sense to me. I hope I'm not throwing out a bunch of misinformation here.

Clean or dirty flash, doesn't make a difference. I have had it on InsertCoin, ARHD (my current rom), and some other various ones. It's only on sense roms, cm11 and 10.2 are fine, and I think that's because they don't have all the profile, prl update stuff. If you try to do either of those with that notification running, it says its already running, try again later. Viper didn't have it last time I was on the ROM. It would flash up upon boot sometimes, then it would go away. The rest of them never go away.
I'm grateful for all the development done for Sprint HTC One
