Brick Samsung galaxy mini 2 - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hy friends.
Last month I flashed stock ROM. I rooted it and I installed cwm. Two weeks ago I did a factory reset from settings, and it doesn't boot. I can enter in cwm and in download mode, but my PC doesn't recognise it. I have drivers installed, Samsung kies etc, but it still doesn't recognize it.
Please, can someone help me?

That's mean your phone is not bricked. Try to reinstall the drivers. Go to download mode and enter it. Run Odin 3. It doesn't matter if Odin not detect it as GT-S6500 for example Odin detect it as T/(V) or any other random word. Click PDA and flash the stock rom or flash CWM.

I try to reinstall drivers, even on 3 computers, but it said that USB device was not recognized., so Odin can't see it.
Edit: I have cwm from gt s7500, can someone upload one for mini 2?

It's probably stupid idea, but did you try another USB cable, because I was in similar situation and after bunch of drivers installed on several computers i found that the problem was in the USB cable. Tried another USB cable and it worked like a charm. At least it worked for me.

I didn't try that, I will try it later, now I'm on a trip with my family and then I have just my tipo.

It may also seem stupid, but you could try Heimdall, an Odin-like software, that may recognise your device, or you could even make sure that when you install the drivers, you should right-click on the .exe file and run as administrator. It worked for me once.

I suggest you change usb ports or use another cable

this is not a brick, i'm not sure what's the problem... did you install drivers?? did you try with odin 3.04 and 1.85?

Drivers are ok, my friend's mini 2 is recognized. Now phone won't boot (charged it for three hours)

Unfortunately I have the same problem :| it is called Recovery-loop and I started to try to fix it about one month ago or more. Now i am trying to send a PM to @thewisp with the problem and for that I need 10 posts Did you asked him about this problem? He is the most active developer for this phone and he might know what we should do .
When I will fix it (i hope soon) i will tell you every step that i made so you will fix your phone too.

I was afraid of jumping to custom roms because of bricking my phone but after learning how to do it I didn't think it was possible to brick your phone. Well I guess it is.
As you probably have tried every trick there is, your best bet is if the dev knows how to solve it.
But if you can enter download mode and odin does not see the phone, and drivers and cable are ok, it will be hard to fix if possible.

you're right. There is really LOW chance of bricking your device by installing custom ROMs. If you develop customs ROMs, then it is easy to brick you device.
this bug is not called "recovery-loop". This has been fixed in the latest CWM builds for Mini 2, it's your own problem if you haven't upgraded yet.
Anyway, I had a similar problem once, odin just wouldn't recognize my device whatever I do.
This worked for Mini 2:
1 ) unplug USB cable
2 ) Power off device
3 ) Start it in download mode, press volume up button to continue. Do NOT plug in USB cable.
4 ) Open odin as administrator
5 ) Plug in USB cable
if this still doesn't work, try rebooting Windows and try again. Should work.

I think is hard brick, because phone won't charge now, it' s dead.
Thanks for all replay and thanks TheWhisp, but i don't know what i can do.

hey man try this method:
1. Battery out. 4secs or more. Battery in (Remove SIM card and SD Card to be saved)
2. Volume DOWN + Home + Power Button. Hold it EXACTLY 5 SECONDS!
(NOW YOU IN DOWNLOAD MOD)
3. You will see or hear nothing! but remember you are there!
4. After when you got in download mod if you remember you need to "Press Volume UP" to confirm it. So press Volume UP and wait 2 seconds
5. Connect your mobile to the PC (Desktop ODIN Running). You will hear the sound. Which mean your phone connected.
6. Flash any stock firmware as you like....
Good Luck!

[SOLVED] Phone Bricked

Tried flashing an I9000 rom over a previous I9000 rom and now the phone doesn't boot up all the way. It gets past the AT&T World phone and Samsung splash screens but then goes to a blank screen in which the capacitive buttons are responsive and the phone will vibrate once, accompanied by 2 faster vibrations.
I've tried all the different button holds to get into download mode but none of them seem to work. ADB doesn't work either so Odin3 isn't an option atm.
Is my only option to buy a dongle to force download mode?
yes, you need to buy/make a jig. once you get your phone into download mode, you need to flash the stock rom with the button fixes, as you should have done before flashing anything else.
Read the sticky and try the other method before getting a jig... might work
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
If all else fails you can make a cheap jig with 3 resistors and no soldering for under $1 from radio shack... search the captivate forum for 3 resistor jig
you said the 3 button doesn't work, but did you try pulling the battery, SIM and micro SD out, then plug into computer, then hold volume UP and Down and THEN insert the battery while connected to PC and pressing both volume buttons, should go to download in a second. at least mines did when none of the 3 button combination worked

Yes because you have no 3button combo. Your only bet would be to use a jig to get into download mode. And no I would not even try to do a nandroid backup because those can cause the same issue unless you are running the same Kernel as the backup.
Ok, have made the jig and am now in download mode. One problem though, even though I have the drivers installed for Windows X64, it is being read as an unknown device. So still no luck with Odin.
Any ideas?

Ok, after about 1000 tries and getting ready to lose hope, I got it to work by holding it a different way. I think it was just a USB cord problem in the end. Thanks everyone for your help. Unfortunately, my other phone, Samsung Focus, took an unfortunate fall preceeding this fix making this win feel kind of insignificant.

I Think I am Bricked

After looking for quite a few hours on google and xda the only solution thats shows up is to use a jtag and quite frankly that scares the pants off me
here is what happened
-i upgraded the device to froyo then did the super one click root in order to root
-after that i installed the modified recovery to turn off the signature check
-after doing that i flashed clockwork mod renamed update.zip through recovery
-after that i flashed the ICS beta but i could not get the main zip to work through recovery the only other zip i had on my sd card was the kernel so i flashed that and it worked, in clockworkmod 5.0 it wiped everything on the phone so i reloaded the 2 zips i flashed the rom there and it rebooted. (this is out of order from the thread so i know this is what causes the next problem.
now when ICS boots up i get an encryption unsuccessful screen saying i need a factory reset, only option given is reboot now. can't bypass the screen, can't access via adb (driver install fails on windows too), cant get into download mode, and can't get into recovery.
how screwed am i
device is
Samsung captivate
-build number 1009
You need Gingerbread bootloaders.
And since you cant get into download mode... You probably need a USB Jig.
Good news is that you see something at startup. I doubt you are totally screwed then.
Second the jig as an option. It has quite the track record on this forum as making the captivate almost un-brickable.
What have you tried as far as getting your phone into download mode? There are sometimes multiple ways (Vol-up + Vol-down while plugging in USB without battery, sim, or microsd installed is how I always seem to get it working). Here is a list:
http://samsungcaptivate.wikia.com/wiki/Putting_the_Phone_into_Download_Mode
To my knowledge, none of that information is dated... but there are those here that know far more about it than I ever will.
none of those methods worked, it just stinks if it would have been any other rom i would have been fine i think but since i can't do anything in user space and everything i do takes me to the ICS android screen i cant do anything.
also for the record i am a noob to samsung devices but i have been doing this stuff to HTC devices for years

Im assuming not and thats what caused the brick. Either that or CWM5 doesnt like froyo BL's. Either way.

Did you try this method to get into download mode?
1. Turn off phone, remove sim, battery, sd
2. hold both volume buttons, keep holding for remainder of instructions
3. insert usb
4. insert battery
This has instantly granted download mode on every captivate i've ever tried.

The team hacksung project might be compatible, but the straight port says in the op that you need to flash kf1 first, which included bootloaders.
You aren't hard bricked and your device is recoverable.
If you are still on the froyo bootloaders, try unplugging the usb cable, removing the battery, sim and sd cards, hold vol up+vol down (don't hold power), and plug the usb cable back in. It should take you to download mode.
If your phone responds to adb while it's booting, you can just issue a quick 'adb reboot download' or 'adb reboot recovery' to get it to boot into either without the button combos.
If either of those don't work, you can try forcing it with a usb jig (just a 301k resistance over pins 4 and 5 of the microusb port). Build a jig, take the battery out, plug the jig in, make sure not to touch the jig while it's in or you'll change the resistance and won't work, put the battery back in and it should kick your phone into download mode. Once you're there, simply remove the jig and plug the usb cable back in.
Sometimes the download mode graphic won't show up even if you are actually in download mode. If the phone looks like it hung, try connecting it to Odin anyway and see if it recognizes it.
Edit: forgot to mention, try using adb from linux (virtual machine or livecd will work too). You shouldn't have to mess with drivers and it's worth a shot.

broken Recovery Mode.. help needed

Hello,
first i want to excuse me for my bad english, i hope you will understand my problem.
I have a rooted GT-S5830 with Froyo (2.2.1).
The plan was to install CWM and then a custom Rom.
I've downloaded CWM 5.0.2.6 for the Galaxy Ace, renamed the .zip to update.zip (it doesn't work while it was named CWM_XXXXXXX.zip), copied it to SD-Card and installed it via the original Recovery Mode.
The Installation went well, i rebooted the phone and everything was fine.
Now the problem: I can't go to the Recovery Mode.
Every Time I press Home and Power, my Phine stuck at the second SAMSUNG-Logo and, after a few minutes, it boot to the"normal" Mode.
I've tried to do an update via KIES, but my Notebook says that the Phone will not be seen in Download-Mode...
Odin didn't see the Phone (same Problem...Download Mode...)
So... Is there any Idea to restore the Recovery Mode or renew it or... whatever.
Thank you all
greetings

Here is the link on how to install stock Gingerbread rom using odin along with all firmwares. Go to the "Preparations" section and download all the necessary files including drivers. When your notebook cannot detect the phone, its usually the drivers. To go to the download mode, hold Vol Down+ Home + Power button until you see "Downloading..." in the screen.

Once installed, go to recoverymod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,

That is the Download Mode of Galaxy Ace alright. All you have to do now is connect to the odin and it should detect the phone. If not please reinstall the drivers. Hope I Helped
I've done exactly what you say nearly hundred times, with different driver packages, different computers, different cables, yesterday, today, at morning, afternoon and evening. I don't know what to do now...
I think that it is a driver fault, but no chance to fix it.
There are lots of problems wich are more important than this...
Thank you for your help, but i think that i need a new way to solve the problem.
Time will tell.
Thx

Another Ace, another fail...
Next try with Windows XP, hope i will find a computer with XP...
Is there anyone who connected an ace to a linux OS?
Is there a live CD with an OS wich will be
Supported by all necessary programs?
When there will be no solution, than there is another question: WILL IT BLEND???

I don't know what you mean by connecting to Linux. But if you meant using odin in Linux, then well it will not work even with Wine. Wine doesn't work reliably with things that need hardware connections.
