I have searched for a few hours and can't find anyone with a similar issue.
I have my 2.2 captivate rooted and unlocked with CWM and TB installed. Got the Cyanogen 7 zip install on my sd card.
Loaded CWM Recovery and backed up my rom.
Restarted and went to CWM to Install Rom from SDCard
It doesn't point to the SD card, however. It starts in the Internal storage, so i choose external_sd/ then the update file
it boots into recovery, formats the phone, but gives me the "No such File or Directory" message with the path set to SDCARD External SD Update.zip(Cyanogen install)
So it thinks my internal storage is my SD card?
So its pointing to the wrong directory, but i cant find an option anywhere to make it go through the right directory.... help?
sorry, mods please delete.
It is installable througn CWM,

Harder way:
Make sure you're running a Eclair/Froyo Firmware (2.1 or 2.2) and Eclair/Froyo Bootloaders!
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon (through ROMManager is easiest)

Try taking out your external sd before you flash, and if you have anymore problems post in the CM7 Q&A thread
Hello,
I installed a latest temaseks rom, and vadonkas beta kernel. Now my phone won't move from second LG logo on boot. I can install zips from internal sd, but I can't access it from CWM, and I can acess external SD from CWM but whenever I want to install zip from it it says ''Can't open xyz.zip (bad) installation aborted.'' And it is like that with all the zips. I tried formating external SD, but what is strange is that after format all the files that were on it are back.
Do data/cache/dalvik wipe
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
do it 2 times, very importen.

Yes, providing that you have Titanium Backup installed in your device.
Assuming youve already had Titanium Backup: open the app, press menu, and choose Batch Action; then scroll down until you find the option to create a .zip of your current rom. Choose it.
When finished, move the .zip file to a safe place and you can flash it thru cwm.

With CWM 6.0.3.1 under Backup/Restore you can make an Image.zip, stored on internal SD in your clockworkmod folder.
Copy the file to external SD, and you'll be able to flash it with CWM Recovery...

Do you have rooted your phone?
You must root, install Universal Kernel Flasher and try again.

thank you :highfive: now the problem is fix
i have note 4 Tmobile i rooted it with cf auto root and recovery is twrp 2.8
my problem is i cannot install any zip (custom roms) file from external sdcard through custom recovery when i try it mobile restart and again come back to recovery mode ....... but i can install zip from internal memory without any problem
Once in TWRP go to install and click on the top middle of the screen that says internal storage and click on it and it will prompt you to use sdcard or USB click sdcard and that should help
