Downgrade to original htc one rom - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
A few months ago i installed the leaked 4.2.2 rom version that was provide on xda
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752 odexed
Now the OTA has arrived for the HTC One, i would like to head back to the clean stock htc rom sow i will be able to receive normal ota's provided by HTC.
I try to do this by installing an older RUU but get stuck at an error due to the bootloader version.
Can somebody tell me how i can downgrade to the stock rom?
Thx!

Without s-off you can't. But if you are s-off flash the 1.44 hboot in sneakyghosts. Thread about getting rid of red txt on boot screen

If you have not used the firmware.zip you should just need to install an older wwe stock , lock and, login and let the phone upgrade .

Right now there is no official 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 upgrade for the IncS, so currently your only option is to S-OFF (or HTC Unlock depending on your HBOOT version) and install a custom recovery and then flash a custom 2.3.5 ROM.
It has been reported that an official IncS 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 update should be released on Dec 10, 2011, but only time will tell if those reports are true or not.
UPDATE: Football has uploaded the official IncS 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 RUU to the Development section!!!!!!!!
sense 3.0 ruu in football's thread..congrats

i have no experience in the matter, but from what i've learned from reading other posts in the forum over the last few weeks...
if you used revolutionary to s-off, you can't update to the official ruu without reverting back to s-on. there are numerous guides in the forum for that so just do a search.
if you upgrade to the official ruu, however, your bootloader will be upgraded to 2.0 as well (someone reported this after upgrading to the official ruu) and i don't know if you will be able to downgrade. so, if you are looking to upgrade, please know that there's a possibility that you won't be able to s-off your phone (at least until someone figures out a way to downgrade from 2.0 bootloader).
my phone is s-off and rooted.
Recieved the OTA update yesterday and after i installed, on rebooting it wouldnt go past the HTC white screen. Stuck/bricked! i then realized that i couldnt load the clockworkmod recovery anymore, got an error cannot open e:\.....
hustled for hours trying to factory reset and finally had to install fastboot on my computer so that i could load the clockworkmod recovery image directly to my phone. after loading clockworkmod recovery then i could now use my previous backup and got back my phone working.... phew.
Hope this helps someone out there.

[Q] My HTC ONE (THREE UK Network) Stuck on Android 4.2.2 Can anyone help?

Hi Guys,
I rooted my HTC One previously but I wanted to update my phones android software so I can't much remember what I did, but
I tried to unroot it to get back to stock but I don't think I did this successfully.
My HTC One android version is 4.2.2
HTC Sense version is 5.0
am i right in thinking there are more up to date versions on the three UK network for my HTC ONE? But every time
i click check for software updates on my phone there aren't any that appear??
I'm really new to this, thank god i didn't brick my phone when i first rooted it, if i could i'd love to get
back to stock but I tried with no success, i really want to have an updated phone without having to
mess around with it anymore.
I believe i have attached an image more more information such as my baseband and kernel version.
could someone please give me step by step instructions on how to go back to stock so i can receive
updates without these issues. Thanks in advance guys
Kind regards

If I was you I would look to s-off your device, that way you can always have the latest rom version from XDA you can sometimes wait a long time for Networks to release the latest version to update over the air.
There are some very nice stock roms out there but if you don't wait to take the risk you need to unroot, restore stock recovery and relock your device I believe.
If you had made a nandroid backup before rooting you could have restored to the nandroid stock rom and simply restored the recovery and relocked.

[Q] HTC One Three UK RUU

Hello,
was wondering if anyone could help me find an ruu for my Htc One on Three Mobile UK?
My software version is: 4.20.771.17
Any help would be much appreciated.

Three UK RUU
Anyone?
This is the only one I can find, you flash it like a custom ROM and would then just have to update as normal after its setup, this will return you to a very early stock rom.
FIRST MAKE SURE CID AND MID MATCH..........

It says it supports OTA's when available, when you flash it make sure you select stock recovery when it gives you the option, otherwise OTA's will fail.

[Q] Upgrade 4.3 to 4.4.2

Hi all,
I am new here and just started to learn a bit about android.
I have an AT&T HTC One M7 that I bought in US. I bought it with version 4.1.2 on it.
I upgraded it to 4.3 sense 5 (I don't exactly remember how...).
Now I'm out of US and want to upgrade it to 4.4.2 sense 6 (build 5.12.502.2) and don't know how to do it.
When I'm trying to do it via the software update i'm getting the message "No update is available...".
Can you please tell me what should I do? What file should I use?
Tnx very much

at&t phones must be connect to the at&t network to receive ota updates.
you could upgrade to 4.4 (sense 5.5) using the 4.18.502.7 ruu and then flash the ota update manually (flashing the update manually require s-off)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659374
or you could flash any 4.4.2 sense 6 roms

OK, what is "HTCOne-32GB-ATT-5.12.502.2-TWRP-stock-unrooted" version file (~1.2 GB) and what is "ATT_Sense6_OTAPkg" file (~670 MB)?
What is the difference between these two and when should I use each one of them?
When you told me that "I can flash any 4.4.2 rom..." - what type of file you mean?

First one is a stock sense 6 Rom zip(full Rom).
Second is a ota for you but then you need s-off ( only s-off your phone when you need it. You don't)
There are several threads where you basically can learn how everything works. There is a beginner thread in the general section. In simple words: unlock your bootloader, get a custom recovery (cwm/twrp) and then you can flash any android 4.4.2 Rom.
But first of all I strongly recommend you to read all the "beginner's flash/unlock guides". Don't do something if you don't know the consequences. You could brick your phone and it is just usable as doorstopper.
I recommend you using a HTC one m7 toolkit. Step by step you will learn how to do something.
And you don't need s-off.

Thanks Phillip.
Where can I get the exact instructions how to install each one of these files?

If you've got any further questions, just ask.
I recommend you to use a toolkit for boot loader unlock and flashing a recovery because that's the simplest way. And the rom: there is no the ONE ROM but I can recommend you insertcoin (now 3.0.5) and maximus 42.0

all there is, is this: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-73-1-zip/
but you will have to be s-off and downgrade your HBOOT to use it, just flash it in a custom recovery like you would with a custom rom.
In its current state it would work, but because of your higher HBOOT version, OTA's would cause a bootloop which is why you have to downgrade it first.
Okay thanks I will try this and let you know how it goes, thanks again.
