what have you researched so far?
remember everyone has their own opinion
how, this is a dev forum so we try to encourage members to do some research and try a few things before spoon feeding them all the information

Well you can give it a try to enox rom, dmod or benz, and the cyanogen custom rom too, all of them take care of your battery life since there isn't so much stock apps (specially cyanogen) all of them are better than stock for battery life! you never know if you never try one of them

Though changing the kernel can definitely improve battery life, I would suggest changing the modem to the one which works best at your place.. further recalibrating your battery will have a major effect on your battery life..
@Erakko..............
i have one doubt .....in glitch their are so many versions like v14, v13,v12 ........so on .....which one is best for battery backup and performance........

I think you just have to try many of them Many times the newest is the best but not always.
Give couple of days per kernel and find suitable for you. And I suggest you to read OC/UV tips from Glitch thread. Underclocking and undervolting will increase your battery life too.

[Q] Recommended ROM

What is the Recommended Rom for save battery life??????
If you are really concerned about a good battery life, then go for stock firmware or stock based roms. Such as Jana rom.
I use Jana rom and the battery life is quite good.

Stock based roms like sgs2 v10.1, the myth 2 - go green, etc & you can use battery extender kernel 1.5.1 OC... You can get all the clocking as in cyanogenmod but not interface customisations. But better battery life... Hit thanks if I helped !
I never had a head ache & some one recommended me rooting !!!

I see I don't have a choise as to use stock..
The myth,sgs2v10.1 etc are not exactly stock.
However if you want ICS or JB then yeah, battery is a pain.

What is modded are just the framework & system ui.apk to give it the look it has. Some bloatwares in the stock are taken off & some tweaks are added. This doesn't affect the baseband in anyway. So it is still the stock based...
I used to have beautiful life before. Now I'm in engineering...!
That's what I meant, didn't get it across effectively I guess.

In short, CM7 will always die faster then stock.

go for slim ics or stock gb rom...
I've been using the CM10 Nightly builds. All the recent builds seem to be pretty solid and it is also quite fast.

Including custom Kernel on Stock rom?

Hi guys,
This is my first post on XDA and hoping some help soon.
So, I own a s5830i with XXLK2.
I'm rooted and have tried many custom roms but haven't been much happy with them.
Going brief I like to stay with stock rom only, but in that some highly desired kernel features like swap, cpu governors underclock/overclock frequencies etc. Are missing. I assume these features are useful for REALLY noticeably increasing performance.
My biggest aim being saving as much battery life as possible so I need underclocking and cpu governors.
So Can anyone tell me how to get custom kernel(the only I knw is rafael baugis kernel) working with my STOCK ROM. Any nice and short tutorial will be a great help.
Also, does undercloclocking, unervolting increase performance? Any experience?
How about using swap to increase ram size, will it really increase multitasking?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
