how is the battery backup ?did you find any changes in the performance inprovement? ONdemand use to put the cpu on full throttel and have a considerable battery drain i think interactive doesn't does this?ONdemand rarely uses the middle step frquency? my earlier phone have the tegra 2 processor and it used the interactive governor it has awesome standby mode it rarely looses 1% battery overnight anybody have any solution for our s3 mini because it have considerable amount of battery drain while in standby mode nearly 10% overnight
just seen XXAMG4 kernel

has anyone else tried out this new Samsung kernel?
performance down...
IT seems that they cheated us again the new governor doesn't seems to work like most of the interactive works i think they might be renamed the ondemand or it has been bymistakley happened because to work interactive efficiently more middle step frequencies are required like 650 hz 920hz etc more the frequency switching option better the interactive will work but in our case we have 400 AND 800 only and moreover i fell some lag in the ui and some games while using this kernel

installed as it should be. flashed to alfs rom, installed ginger dx v028, then installed alfs update patch and it seems to work fine.. Fresh install and after entering settings happens strange things, sometimes loading facebook app is just the same. Screen attached. Anyone know how to fix this? Never happened with earlier gingers on stock rom.
The thing is.. you have to touch a bit left of buttons, as the touch matrix is in correct position, but the graphics a float to the right. If i did not reboot, it floats more and more.
any help appreciated

Please atleast check what all features you're phone provides you..
And read the bug log in the rom's thread b4 using any rom or kernel..
Now for you're problem go to performance settings as you did b4 change governor as b4
(recommended 600mhz smartassv2 overclocking will drain battery and is not good for cpu) (overclocking cpu means when you push you're cpu beyond its default limits, ours have 600mhz)
and at the bottom last option would be to "set on boot" just click on the box beside, it will be checked..
Now you shouldn't have any question, i guess..
Hey guys, I'm using kernel Zerogravity and there are several options governor, some being easier to understand as: powersave, ondemand and lgfree, but others are not so clear.
Could someone help me understand better how to work each of these governors?
Another question is about the options for I / O scheduler that can not fully understand the function of each option.
If complidado much explain everything, could you pass me some stuff where I can search on the subject?
Sorry my English, I use google translator.

Great, I didn't know all these things!
Up this thread just to ask if someone as tried any governor on V30b and how it work...
Inviato dal mio LG-P970 con Stock V30B
If you're on stock kernel, dont use the default ondemand governor cuz it wont get into deep sleep.
Instead change it to Interactive.
And about zero gravity kernel, I didnt really try it, but many people said many governors had weird scaling between freqs, so just a few governors acted normally. Someone made a small review about how governors are working on the kernels thread. =)

That may be thermal throttling actuating.
Nope I ve waited am hour phone was cold and made 4000-4500 in qiadrant for like 4 times in a row..also games like real racing 3 are running not so good as before low fps sometimes and lower fps in general..maybe is not optimized

Well you can check that the cpu has throttled back to either 918Mhz or 1026Mhz...
I think I will remove this kernel level fail-Safe..

You probably know that these thermal throttling values can be edited in /system/etc/sysmon.cfg, so you could symlink this file to your kernel. But I am writing this, just to be sure.
I've played much with these values and I really don't suggest removing this feature.
S4 cannot even handle continuous 1200MHz in room temperature for longer time and cpu temperature has tendency to go over 80°C. That makes battery temperature to go over 50°C and it's quite high.
Edit:
And I forgot, I had to disable "thermald", because it is somehow involved in thermal throttling too (in JB) and two thermal throttling features in one phone, is too much. Sysmon is enough.
Is there any chance to edit kernel values for display calibration? Would be awesome
Doomlord has posted that if we have trouble changing volatges by using apps we should try adb
I have never done it this way, could anyone with some knowledge post the commands here so that we have a list of commands to change the voltages via adb and a way to restore stock voltages if needed.
Also, a command to set them at boot once we have tested them.
That would be great, thanks

keep permissions rwxrwxrwx (777)
u dont need custom rom for init.d
just create that folder using root explorer or using adb commands as follows:
Code:
[B]adb shell
su
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
mkdir -p /system/etc/init.d
chmod 777 /system/etc/init.d[/B]
if anyone is still facing issues i will post a small update.zip which can be used to set voltages, this will automatically create the init.d folder...
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or there's something weird with my device:
Setting voltages thru incredicontrol, voltage cotrol, antutu, rom toolbox, etc. is ineffective. So I tried using the adb method DoomLord suggested, and while I can succesfully connect an adb shell to the device, ¡it also ignores all voltage settings!.
I can cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels, I can echo -25 (or whatever number), but the voltage table stays the same.
¿Does anybody have a hint at what may be the problem?.
EDIT: Nevermind, stupid me, ADB was asking for root permissions, but I never looked at the screen so I didn't see it.
I still don't know why apart from adb commands no other program can change voltages though.
to the point, please someone take a look at my attachment. this's Xperia V.
*last changed i had before :

thats screenshot i taken from catlog. it something like cant access/open files from interactive gov's folder at /sys/device/system/cpu/cpufreq/
when i take a look at that error (/sys/device/system/cpu/cpufreq), it doesnt have folder named interactive.
i think this path is telling 'what' governor are im using now.
now, i think i resolved my own problem
the problem is that when i change governor besides interactive (default V's governor), that error will appears continuously at catlog.

Of course i have root.
im using doom's kernel and installed superSU after flashing .140 ftf.
if i dont, i cant change the governor.
take a look again properly this SS (see this post attchmnt), its weird.
i dont have this problem before when i changed governor.
it happen when i change other governors EXCEPT interactive.
for now, that continuously error dissapeared bcoz use interactive gov.
Yes that was my point, the governor is not actually changing, hence the reference to interactive whilst using another governor.

i win
that script is script created from SystemTunerPro app. so when i change gov from that app, the script will rewrite it automaticaly.
i already removed that script and use SetCPU, it still have same problem.
i can only thinking it happen from kernel related.
maybe the only way i can do is re-install ROM and kernel, but later.

Just a note, GPL dictates you must provide kernel source within 80 days of public release. I know we're not at that limit but thought I might say something since I didn't see source linked in the OP.
