i have owned an xperia z for 1 week now and i wanted to install a custom rom on it my device his bootloader is locked btw. so i did install CM10.1 with CWM recovery, and everything went fine until rebooting because it wont start! and then i thaught why it wasn't working and i realized I DIDN'T UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER FOR THIS ROM!!!! so i am very angry at myself right now, and i don't know where to start, so PLEASE HELP!
i do hope so much that anybody could help me with it, i will be thankfull for the rest of my life.
Hi
Download any Ftf version (434 version at least), then flash it by using flashmode tool.
There is a very good tuto in xda (sorry i do not write from my computer and do not know/succeed to add the appropriate link from phone).
Nevertheless you have to:
1 install phone drivers to your computer
2 downmload and install flashtool
3 download ftf file from Android original or Android dev threads
4 follow How to use flashtool guide available in the Xperia Z section.
Do not worry it is not so hard :screwy:
As proposed, I have :
1- Installed the Sony PC Companion 2.10.155
2- Installed the Flashtool-0.9.10.2beta6 --> Thanks to Androxide for that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2162907
3- Followed the Tuto of 'Flashing Stock Rom with FlashTool --> Thanks to Shadowboy23 for that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2240614
3- Used the UK Unbranded FTF --> Thanks to Paulkhim for that

Strange! Other people are complaining because they still haven't got the update. My Xperia Z (C6602) got the notification for the latest OTA update for 10.3.1.A.0.244 via the update centre app. I downloaded the update and pressed install, and the phone shut down, and installation started, but then it stopped 1 min after installing, the phone rebooted and I got a notification "could not install". What's happening?
My phone is not rooted. OTA update to 10.1.1.A.1.253 worked previously. Any ways to fix this problem?
The internet connection at my current location is not stable enough to use PC Companion or Sony Update Service. It would also take the whole day to download the whole ftf file. (Max download speed is 40 KB/s! ) Can anyone think of any alternative ways please? Thanks in advance.
P.S., I found a similar tread in Xperia J forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44735001#post44735001), but no solution to the problem.

I believe the OTA update will fail if any of the stock system apps are missing.
EDIT: See this thread for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403613

None of the system apps are missing as my phone is not rooted. But, my local Sony Service installed a local font without rooting, that's the only change made. (I don't know how they did that, I just saw them running a .bat file from computer. They said this won't void the warranty.)

Not released yet in almost all country's. Only Spain has released it till now. Why not just install the Spanish version? It still supports the German language

Edit: you are right @kingvortex, should have checked my facts better.
So according to that thread it is already available for Vodafone Germany. Try using pcc to download and use flashtool to convert it to ftf yourself.
Here is a guide to do that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075736
It works the same for xz, although that forum is for different Xperia's
It's not true at all that only Spain has the 67 update.

That's not entirely true, you CAN download the firmware, just not install it via pcc. I create my own ftf's always that way.
And I'm unlocked too

I don't know how you guys do it...I tried sues: says "you modified your device" and wont download anything...I found a sony software called emma: it needs a developer login, so I registered yesterday but I still wait for sonys email (checked spam)...
All the guides I found even write "required: locked bootloader" in the first lines...
how the heck can you guys download it?!
//////////////////////////////////
My thread about optimizing the battery life of Sony's Xperia Z: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382712
The Emma program does not need special access, just a file which states you are a unlocked bootloader user (a .ini file)
Download the Flash tool for Xperia devices.
Unzip the file you downloaded and place it somewhere on your computer.
In the unzipped folder, run Emma.exe. During the installation, make sure you remember the installation path:
Default path in Windows 64 bit is: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Mobile\Emma\”
Default path in Windows 32 bit is: “C:\Program Files\Sony Mobile\Emma\”
Copy the Customization.ini file. You find it in the Flash_tool_for_Xperia_X.zip.
Paste the Customization.ini file into the installation folder. The installation folder is the folder named Emma in the installation path examples on point 3.1 and 3.2 above.
Click Start > All programs > Sony Mobile > Emma (if you used the default installation path from step 3 above) to start the flash tool

Anyways, I always use 'Sony pc companion' for downloading, since this first downloads the data, and after downloading requires you to reboot (wich i don't even bother to do since i'm not using PCC for flashing ), this way they can't check you have 'altered' software.
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Edit:
In SUS you should choose repair instead of update, or else it won't work
edit 2:
THIS tutorial was the first tutorial i followed when i started learning to make my own ftf's.
it also states you DON'T need locked bootloader.

You can extract it yourself using flashtool and few other tools or use adb commands to pull systemui.apk if you are yourself on stock 4.4.4. version.
So what exactly interests you so i can write the method for that
