i like the ripple effect from webos actually there are several apps for android that make something like it but just on the wallpaper so im wondering if is there any patch or something to bring the same effect to android for the entire system like in webos any help will be appreciated
If you just want android to indicate where you're currently touching, select the option "show touches" under developer options in settings.

I tried searching but didn't find anything on it. I was wondering if anyone had made it where the names of my apps didnt show up beneath the icon, or if there's a setting somewhere in CM 5.0.6 to show/hide. I have a light wallpaper and it would be much cleaner without the names below each one.
you can do that in HelixLauncher (both 1 and 2 can do it) so you need to download that launcher; then in the homescreen, click on menu > configure > and there's bunch of options to select
You actually hit Configure...

Hey guys!
I'm wondering on how to remove the TouchWiz lockscreen because I'm about to use Lockbot wich act buggy with TW Lockscreen, it shows the TW Lockscreen before switching over to Lockbot.
Is there an APK somewhere i can remove to get rid of TouchWiz lockscreen (the one with the puzzle sliding etc.) ?
Thanks in advance masters!
Im in a similar predicament, i actually am using a passcode right now so it doesnt look like touchwiz

Thank you for your reply, the problem is I cannot use Lockbot now because the TW Lockesreen messes it up. Also on Exlair (Android 2.1) it is not possible to set up a passcode, FroYo is needed for that plus this won't fix my Lockbot issue either. I alreafy did some diging in the APK folders but couldn't really sort it out. You are on FroYo I believe? It is possible to set a SIM pincode but that doesnt help aswell.
PEACE!
The free app NoLock will remove your lockscreen entirely, if you press power/home to wake your phone it will immediately be unlocked. There are several apps on the market to replace your lockscreen with a different style but in my experience these aren't completely satisfying - sometimes the original lockscreen appears for a splitsecond, other times they're just not as responsive and may take a second longer for you to unlock the phone.
Regardless, just try searching the market for 'lockscreen' and see what you find. WidgetLocker is pretty good but not free.
Indeed I am on Froyo, I wasn't aware it isn't available on eclair. Well, if anyone else finds further development besides market apps that seem to slightly lag please help out!

Download SGS INFO on the forum here install and run the app selecting set powerbutton action. Select the tickbox and this will permantly disable the lock screen until you select otherwise.
The beauty if this is that it doesnt use a 3rd party app to do this just provides a shortcut to hidden options within the SGS.
Hope this helps.

You can also easily revert back to the stock lock (...and two smoking barrels! ) screen by modifying the code in /system/framework/android.policy.odex.

i installed the app. but when i choose set powerbutton action, i have only this one on the list :
shutdown: enable to shutdown on end call long press.
thats not right or ?
which code must i enter to disable lockscreen.
and would it be the same code to reactivate the stock lock screen ?

when i tick off the shutdown option, then 3 things happen:
1. the question if i really want to shut down my phone is gone. (i think this is the real action, what it does)
2. when i restart my phone, the sim card is not accepted, its even not asked for pin. i tried 3 times, so its not working
3. the lockscreen is gone.
so i need an other option, maybe i will deinstall it completly.
or has someone an other suggestion ?

Most of the times these apps don't work together with apps such as LockBot for getting another lockscreen. Will try it out tho, thanks for the heads up

Hey guys, is it possible to show screen touches on GB like on ICS? It's the only feature of ICS I'll be missing. And I think it's awesome.
it was included in ICS(AOKP and CM9) in the Settings.
but as it is not in the CM settings in gingerbread I think that first it will have to be ported from CM9 or AOKP and then it will have to be merged with the settings so as to use it.
You can try PMing some devs Who have made ROMs If they can include this feature in gingerbread.
cheers.

Thanks guys! Will try the developer tools before asking anyone to import.
EDIT: The developer tools app doesn't have it. I'm talking about the setting where the little white circle shows every time and anywhere you touch the screen.
Hi,
When i upgraded my phone to ICS, it used to set wallpapers as i crop them (at any size, any length or width) and it also appeared exactly the same size on home screen as i crop it. But now for some reason, that i dont know, it has stopped doing that and use the same method as before i.e. predefined length-width + zoomed wallpaper on home screen.
Is there any option or a method to revert back it to setting custom sized wallpaper?
Please i dont want any 3rd software to do this because i believe there must be some genuine way to solve this problem as once i restarted my phone and i got the desired wallpaper cropping settings. But now it restarting phone also doesnt help.
Please help me for this. My phone is not rooted yet. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!

Yeah i know. I don't like to use any other software then the built-in one. But in that case you can just flash some other rom or re-install the ICS stock one.....
Hello I have a galaxy tab s2 t810 running lollipop 5.1.1 It is rooted .I want to remove the add user icon from the notification bar. When the screen is locked anybody can pull down the notification bar click on users and then create a new user by clicking on add user. I want to remove only the add user icon please point me in the right direction. I have looked in settings under lock screen and there is no option to turn this off. Thanks

Agreed
Wow, I can't believe there is still no information anywhere about this. I would really like to know the answer as well. I imagine a lot of people are the sole users of their devices and do not want anyone who picks up their device to be able to create a new account, change settings and download apps. I encrypt my devices and know my information is secure but if I want to add a user I can do it from the settings once I'm logged in. I would love the ability to remove the option from the lock screen. I just don't get whoever thought this was a good idea but apparently most people either don't mind, don't care or as I suspect, don't realize it's there. This option should be available for unrooted devices as well.

Thanks "add fw.max_users=1 in build.prop and restart the device" works great!!
Thanks for the quick reply it itandy! I will give this a shot.

I did that and it worked but there is still the icon for 'setting' in the lockscreen pulldown and clicking on it bypass the lockscreen. Can I get rid of that icon too?
I updated to tab s2 to nougat. I was expecting the add user option could be customised to disable it completely but it is still the same.
I want to remove add guest and add user completely from the notification. How do I make this happen ?

Hi !
Still looking for a solution on this one. Any body successful ? It feels so helpless when some one can simply open your device using add user in notification !

Here, ?
fw.max_users=1
fw.show_multiuserui=0

This goes to end of build.prop (if not already added)
This disables addition/changing of user from settings app/status bar.
Please hit "Thanks" below ?
