Anyone willing to port this ? or is it even possible? It's a crazy costumizable rom, with all the major players styles on board. Would be really cool if someone could do this, there;s a galaxy s3 version which is pretty much on par with the 4X HD, now obviously I'm not sure how well can this be porter with the hardware being totally different but still tho. Would be really cool to have.

Galaxy froyo roms ported to the nexus one is possible if so please can someone port a really good rom??? desire fully working with 720p and all???
The Samsung launcher has been ported. You are obviously new to the rom development scene if you think any Sense rom will be 100% portable because of camera and bluetooth hardware differences.

why was the g1 able to port all difference types of roms...even till this day?? and the nexus cant and yes i know the launcher is up but it sucks honestly....
A lot of others are getting ports for their phones. Anyone going to do it for the Droid? We have MIUI but this looks so much better. If i had any idea how to port and make it work, i would, but i really dont.
i thought if the DEVs can port the ROMs of other devices as the Galaxy S or the Nexus S then we can have some really nice ROMs...even the released ICS ROMs....i don't have any idea but if the DEVs try the port themselves or release a guide 2 it, i think it owuld be nice.
i feel our device is a capable one but lacks good choice of ROMs, except for the speedy NOVA ROM...
is there any way 2 port????
Porting a ROM is not a small deal, and rom being WVGA isn't of any great help. You need to make it work for your processor chipset, your hardware buttons and features etc. So it's almost like starting from zero, and other device's rom are of very little help except few minor tweaks etc.

Hello to everyone, I've recently started searching to buy a new phone and I saw Galaxy S and Galaxy S Plus. I saw that GS+ is 40% faster than the original one but I also heard that the GS consumes less RAM and that the GS+ lags a lot more.
Also, I saw that 9000 has a wider community and support and that it even has more payable games from gameloft than the 9001!
And so, I'm a bit confused, that's why I'm asking for advice. Thanks a lot in advance!
hi,
it really depends on whether we get ics ported for sgs+ or not.
if you just compare the hardware of both sgs+ will easily win, but the community is much bigger for sgs (we neither have any finished cm7 port nor ics, but both are maybe coming).
Thanks for your answer! I also happened to see people say that GS+ lags more than the original GS (both on GB) and people saying that it looks like samsung doesn't give much support to it, unlike the GS. That's what has been making me wonder.
If you are not planning to upgrade from stock rom(wich I dont advise) you should go with the SGS+.
Like annqx said there is a much better communitx for SGS, there are a lot more roms for it.
Sorry for my late reply, I had internet issues the whole week, anyway, I see, maybe then I'm going for the SGS+, since it's newer, I believe it will get more popular in the future. Thanks a lot for your answers!
Not sure it will get that much more popular. Remember galaxy s was top end phone at one point. Now replaced by s2, and soon s3. Just my opinion but could be wrong.

Well having used both phones and still using S version i would personaly say S as you already know about modding obviously being part of this community .
S+ is better on paper and thats what it only is , unless some drastic change in modding com and suddenly many devs appear for S+...
S with CM7/9 is just to good of phone ...
I'm satisfied with my S Plus. In my opinion it is a good fast phone
And not to forget, GPS is better in the S Plus, many people had problems on that with the SGS.
I9000 is better than I9001 because it have better dev support, better gpu and cpu .

Hello together !
I've been wondering while if it is to possible to port Samsung (or other) Stock Roms to the I9000/1, (of course just so far as the hardware allows...) I didn't found anything about it, so it would be amazing, if someone would try to port e.g. the S4 stock rom to our s/s+
or provide a Guide on it
THANKS IN ADVANCE
Yes and no.
It is in some ways possible but the coding etc is a hell of a job and i doubt that any developer will do this on its own.. Or in a team..
Also this question has been asked seval times Next time use search better
i agree to mrjraider...
there are some custom roms which includes the look from s3 or xperia...
scour the development forum
greets
There was one released today called Xperian UI which looks really similar to the stock Sony Xperia UI. Comes not only with Albums/Movies/Walkman but aso other apps like the clock, the calendar, Timescape etc etc. Its pretty damn close.
Porting a stock Samsung rom, we can only go so far. I've seen some developers find it absoute hell to port.
