You can`t do anything atm with Hboot 1.54.000. You cannot downgrade to a 4.1.2 RUU.

Use adb sideload to copy the rom onto your sdcard. There's a number of how to threads on xda. Then you can flash it from cwm.

The key is that you need to flash and replace the AlphaRevX/Revolutionary HBOOT with the vivo-downgrade file that is mentioned. Once you have replaced the HBOOT, then you can flash a RUU/ROM and it will replace the HBOOT with an S-OFF version.

No I haven't tried it because I have permanent S-OFF using the XTC Clip. I did not have to use either AlphaRevX or Revolutionary.

Ok from the RUU/ROM page why don't you try to use this one:
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_KT_KR_2.32.1010.1_Radio_20. 2810.30.085AU_3805.06.03.16_M_release_199684_signe d
Extract the ROM.zip and copy to your SD card as PG32IMG.zip as instructed in the other thread.

OK, since you are having issues with your USB connection, then it looks like this is the RUU you need to extract the ROM.zip from:
RUU_Vivo_Gingerbread_S_KT_KR_2.21.1010.4_Radio_20. 2805.30.085AU_3805.04.03.27_M_release_194748_signed
Also to get S-ON, you are probably going to have to try flashing the vivo_downgrade.img. You may have to create a PG32IMG.zip file with that img file in it and flash it using FASTBOOT since your USB connection is having issues.

Yes you can S-ON after you S-OFF with revone: fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 to S-ON again
Yeah, just make sure you have a stock hboot before doing so. You may want to also lock the bootloader first.

A better question is why would go from s-off to s-on anyway? You might mess up later and wish you still had s-off so you could fix it.

With S-OFF, yes.
If you have an unsigned hboot and then S-On, you'll probably brick your phone.
S-on: you only can flash roms and kernels
S-off: you will also be able to update hboot, and firmware, flash splashscreens and remove red warning text from splashscreen and change radio

You can still flash radios with S-on. Agree with the others, you'll regret going S-on unless you need to return the phone under warranty.

get a stock ROM(insertcoin android revolution, etc.), open up the zip and extract the boot.img from the zip file, put it in your Android SDK folder (probably C:/Android), then boot into bootloader, connect USB and get into fastboot mode, and fastboot flash boot boot.img in a command prompt from your Android SDK folder. Backup with your custom recovery and you MIGHT need to wipe data and reinstall ROM (most probably not). You'll know you need to wipe data if you get a bootloop after flashing the Stock Kernel. Just backup before, that's a great rule of thumb

I need advice on what to do next

I got frustrated and decided to RUU my phone. I still have s-off, but it won't let me flash recovery.img in fastboot. It says remote: not allowed. My question is, what can I do to get TWRP flashed on this thing. My hboot was updated to 1.55 in the RUU.
