I have a Galaxy Ace 2(GT-I8160), and remember when I was trying new roms, a few of them offered a patch, that was switching the internal USB memory(where everything goes) with the External SD card(which is usable only for music, photos and downloads). Now a friend of mine has the same issues that the memory gets filled in magical way and there is nothing left to do except maybe to restore factory defaults(which is annoying IMO). So I am asking is there any sort of trick which could be used to achieve the same result, and use the 8gig SD card as a internal memory?
The phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace (Three UK) more info could be provided later today.
The best scenario is without flashing, rooting is an option, but not recommended(my friend is a bit stuck on technology ) I would appreciate if the procedure does not require manual partitioning of the SD Card and as a must, not to require a ROM.
This is my first post on the XDA, so don't get hard on me.
wrong section :/ >_<

HI, CronoMod seems to have a universal way to do it ("CronMod INT2EXT scripts are the first universal INT2EXT method released") however I didnt tried on another phone besides the 5830.
You've better ask in CronMod thread
Hope I helped

Why don't you simply install a custom ROM and make your own life easier.

Actually I am very new to android, I bought my phone 5 days ago. But there's problem with it, all 3D HVGA games (even Raging Thunder 2) are running with render problems, sometimes all cars and trees are white, sometimes some meshes are not loaded, or some 2D images moving on screen. I am fed up with it, its like I bought wrong one.
I read somewhere, root your phone -> install chainfire3D ...and that's the only hope. I am sure these games run well on Galaxy Ace. Is there something with this set? kindly help.

http ://s18.postimage.org/av2hilcfp/render_problem_in_GT_S6802.png
I realized it can be done the other way by flashing a rooted rom. But I couldn't, I am not sure which rom should I pick for my device (Ace Duos GT-S6802).
Tried with random rom in Ace forum by Recovery method and there was something like
if(productCode == S5830) ...... .. . .. . . .. . etc FAILED!
I think it wasn't meant for S6802.
Tried something with ODIN [FAILED!]
Plz suggest something... (in quite detail or tutorial link)
have you tried superoneclick??
it works quite wonderfully..

Yes, I tried it. It hangs after "running psneuter", or "running GingerBreak", or "running motofail"
Maybe these exploits were fixed in this model:cyclops:

are there any rom for GT-S6802?
Sent from my GT-S6802 using xda app-developers app
HI GUYS!
I posted this thread, because in some countries we can buy now just s5830i, not the original s5830.
Samsung gave out a new version of Ace, and now it can be bought in more and more countries now. In some threads there are angry posts, because s5830i users write here, in the s5830 forum. Sorry for these guys, we can't write on any other place, because there isn't forum for us, so we must write here. I hope the Admins will open a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i forum.
Now I'm here because I want to write a summary of the S5830i phone, and of the difference of the S5830i and the S5830.
1. S5830i has got better CPU. It has got 832 MHz, S5830 has got 800 MHz.
2. S5830i can record 640x480 videos with LGCAMERA, S5830 can record 320x240.
3. S5830i has got Bluetooth 3.0 Audio streaming, S5830 has got 2.1.
4. S5830i has got 278 MB phone storage, S5830 has got 158 MB.
5. S5830i has got originally Gingerbread, S5830 has got froyo, but it can update now.
Maybe some more
And this is very, very important!!!
YOU CAN'T USE S5830 ROMS ON S5830i.
There aren't any rom for S5830i, so we have to wait. I'm on it, now just 1-2 day, and I'll be finished with it.
How to root it:
1.Download the file of the second post's attachment! (update.zip)
2.Put in in the root of SD!
3.Switch off the phone!
4.Switch on in recovery mode! (Vol. up+Home+Power!)
5.Select the "apply update from sdcard" (Vol. up=up, Vol. down=Down, Home=select)
6.Choose the update.zip!
7.Reboot system in the main menu!
Gratulations! You're now ROOTED :highfive:
BUT!!! With this, you will lose your guarantee, and your phone may have demage!!!
Unroot:
1.Download the Unroot.zip file in the second post's attachment!
2.Follow the previous instuctions from the second instruction!
If something is wrong, or miss, please write post or PM me!
If you found it useful, just click on the Thank! Just one click!
Downloads
Here are the downloads in the attachment!
Y U late to party ? :silly:
S5830 can record 640x480 with normal samsung camera itself!
And s5830i has same chipset as galaxy y. I also think it doesnt have GPU and uses CPU instead for processing graphics which is a bit lame!
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk 2
The same case happend with samsung galaxy s2 , initially they produce 19100 with exynos, later on they produce 19100G with omap which of course have less dev support.

Yeah, apparently the S5830i has no GPU and it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.
Better off getting the Galaxy Ace 2 at this point, though.
Galaxy Ace s5830i has GPU (VideoCore IV),it cant record 640x480 videos with the stock camera, and has Gorilla Glass.
S5830 can record video at 640x480.

Well, GT-S5570I is different than other GT-S5570 handsets. So, roms made for GT-S5570 and it's variants like GT-S5570L can't be flashed in GT-S5570I. To root your handset, you can use the instructions I provided you. For other things such as clockwork mod recovery, there's a thread in development section and they have got CWM for galaxy pop plus (s5570i) as well. You might also find other information at that thread, so it's recommend to go through that one first.
yah thanks for it and ill do it later. btw which development section? because this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729220 is from galaxy y section.

Hello,
As most of you guys know, the galaxy ace has a problem with low internal memory. So my question goes, is it smart to put a ROM like Hiui on this phone or stay with the originial ROM? Regarding the space it keeps open, because i keep getting low memory errors.
Anyway thank you for your time!
Kind regards,
Jordi Sipkens

If you have memory problems and a rooted phone, you can use link2sd and maybe the "link2sd extreme": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123862
You could also install CronMod, or the psn memory mod.
I would switch to another rom, because the stock rom is just so lame and slow  .
At the moment I still use Space Cakers SG SII rom v9 Still the best, if you like the sgs2 style

There are several solutions, for sure you have to root the phone. You can opt for a conservative solution, keeping the original rom and installing Link2SD, that puts you 100M free in IM in normal use, or you can look for other rom, there is plenty of variety and you should look for bugs reported and feedback from users before choosing [not forget CWM for flashing custom roms and make total security] here at xda younhave all the guidelines for root, CMW and roms.
Hope I helped
Alright thanks for the replys! I'm gonna look into your suggestions tomorrow. It is actually my girlfriend's phone, so i gotta do some deep research before i ruine her phone.

it is wise to read more about it, I'm sure you wont brick her phone, however take into account two facts: rooting voids the guarantee, and make sure the rom is for your phone (has a letter at the end or not) or you get a hard brick :highfive:

The usual methods that uses Odin and flashing the PDA doesn't work for me.
Any help is appreciated
PS, XDA doesnt recognize Galaxy Ace 3 yet and please do let me know if i've posted in the wrong place.
