Hello, I have a problem with the installation of the new maximus over the air update 10.0.0.1.
I've installed v10.0.0.0 without problems, afterwards I've got an update notification for 10.0.0.1, I've downloaded the file and the phone was rebooted to cwm, then I've got the follogwing error message:
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.1
E: Invalid command argument
Finding update package
E: unknown volume for path [0/Download/update_10.0.0.0-10.0.1.zip]
E: can't mount 0/Download/update_10.0.0.0-10.0.1.zip
Installation aborted
any advice how to solve this?
thanks in advance,
Chris

Did you ask the OP and developer for Maximus? I would ask on their thread.

Hello,
due to I'm a new user on the xda forum, I'm unfortunately not allowed to post in the maximus developer thread.
I should post 20 times in other forums and threads and then I'm able to post in a developer thread.
okay, once again I solved my problem on my own
I think the next time I will try some things before posting here...sorry.
I looked after the update zip file on the filesystem and as I found it, I tried a manual update in cwm, this works fine.
So only the update directly via the rom ota updater does not work...

Can I ask few questions? Is it rooted?
Viz I thought you wouldn't get update notification when you r rooted.
So in the end you always need to go back stock recovery to update. That sucks.
Do you need to lock boot loader again in order to update?

My Nexus one is on Stock GB 2.3.6
I have searched for hours in google but I can't find solution.
I have tried flash 4 roms but still "Symlink: some symlink failed...(status 7) installation aborted".
I flashed it after full wipe so now I can't start my phone. Everytime it starts, it goes into recovery mode
I tried PASSIMG.zip method but my phone can't find that zip.
Help me!!!!

I'm not expert but I suspect you have not installed the proper Hboot for the roms you are trying. Probably not large enough partitions. Try reading the instructions of either rom...

Yup for VJ's CM 10.1, you will need to resize the HBOOT from 145/90 ( which is your default) to 260/10. You will need a tool called BlackRose to do this.
Detailed step by step information present here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804571
is messing with the partition necessary for the Sprint HTC One? Sorry just don't want to get all into this solution if it won't work for me like everything else. Thanks
Hi, recently performed a full wipe on my One, flashed latest Viper One RC1 rom and have lost root. I've downloaded and attempted to flash the supersu zip as instructed that's provided in the ROM thread, but TWRP gives me a failed message.
Am I doing something stupid here? :/
Thanks in advance.
Any ideas?
Which error?
Probably is a bad download of the zip.
Because the zip is working fine here

Thanks for the reply.
Downloaded it twice (can't provide link due to new user restriction, but it's linked to on page 1082 of the Viper One thread)
This is what I get in TWRP after attempted to install zip:-
Updating partition details...
E:Unable to open zip file.
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/Download/UPDATE-Sup(etc...)
Failed.

Download this, and try.
Working fine here.
That was the link that I used.
However, for some reason, downloading it on my PC then transferring it over to my phone rather than downloading directly on the phone seems to have made all the difference and now it's happy. :good:
Any idea why that would matter?

ClockWorkMod Menu problem look in My Android Solutions
[26] Problem:- ClockworkMod Recovery giving Status 0 error "Installation aborted".
Quote:
Solution:- Most likely you have a incompatible CWM, or your Zip files are corrupted or you have mounted /system or /data
what was your original ROM, if gingerbread, you cannot use semaphore JBean CWM but have to use Gingerbread CWM to flash ICS first than Jelly Bean later.
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.

Semaphore 3.0 is for stock JB roms and there is no such for i9000. Besides, semaphore uses its own recovery that is only CWM based, it isn't CWM.
Which firmware do you have? For Gingerbread you should have flashed Semaphore 2.7.4
The 100% working solution!!!!!
Re-Flash official Samsung ROM and its CF_root. Then install the ROM and everything will work awesome.
Make sure you are installing the ROM made for your i9000t and not for i9000

There are no 100% working solutions.
How will you feel if somebody reports you some day that such advice has ruined his/her device?
Hi, I read lots of posts here in xda on how to install custom ROM on my HTC Salsa, lot of times i felt bad as the posts always required my phone to be S-OFF. I couldn't find a nice and easy solution for this.
However somewhere i read that it is not mandatory to have S-OFF and which is when i just started experimenting on my phone.
I did unlock the bootloader from HTC dev . But i still have S-on.
I downloaded some *i9500 custom ROM and copied it to my downloads folder in sdcard. Tried to install the zip from sdcard from my CWM Recovery and it failed always. But then i thought that it could be the problem with image which i downloaded as it is not supported. So then i found one more post for HTC Salsa and downloaded the image from the link given in there.
Here is the link of that post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2745185
Here is the link from where i downloaded the zip : http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/icong/
Here is the image which i downladed : cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
After getting into CWM Recovery i tried to install the same and at first it looked that it is going to install but in some time i get some error like
set_metadata_recursive.... error STATUS 7. INSTALLATION ABORTED.
Then i thought i was doing to wrong and as per some post .. i formatted all the /boot /system /sdcard ....partitions listed in CWM.
Now my sdcard is completely formatted .
After i copy my image there and try to install the same :
I get :
--Installing: /sdcard/cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
E: Error in .sdcard/cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY-icong.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
I can't even reboot to my old ROM. .. Not sure if its lost completely. .. Need help urgently.
Please help me recover or reinstall any ROM just for my phone to come back to life again.
Please help
Please help!!!. I am not sure if my post will die here.

If your using the new icong_g CM11 then you require the installation of the new cwm 6 recovery. if you follow the guides correctly then you won't have any issues.
can i ask why you thought about trying a different model phones software on this? it would only cause some serious issues lol.
and to answer the question when u wipe and clean of any data then it will leave the original OS in place unless you flash another then its that one that replaces it

Actually when i tried to install the icong_g CM11 i think it tried to flash but the installation aborted with error 7 as i mentioned earlier and so my old ROM was washed away i guess.
Somewhere i again read i need CWM 5.0.3 and so i tried that as well. Still getting the error.
Where can i find CWM recovery 6 for HTC Salsa.?
What are the mount/unmount options should i follow. Like /system, /data. Should they be mounted or unmounted before installing the zip.
Please help me solve the problem.
Why i am failing to install the cm-11*icong all the time with error 0. Do i really need to upgrade my CWM recovery from 5.0.3 to 6 ?
Also please help he flash my phone with manual steps.
I am using Fedora 20 for using fastboot and adb.
Got the link to download the latest recovery image ..Its 6.0.5 from the below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=4865#downloads
Now i was able to install the custom ROM downloaded from here : http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/icong/
Atleast my phone came to life. Thanks to XDA developers.
But the graphics seem too bad. Can we do anything about it?
