Can anyone point me to the right direction please! My phone keeps shutting down I first obtained s off with revone I thought that was the issue I s on ran a ruu locked boatloader than redid everything while s offing with moonshine now the problem seems to have found it's way back. It's not as bad as it use to be but it's annoying. So my plan is to use my warranty with HTC and get a new phone first I'm have to lock the phone up I wondering if any of you can point me to the right direction so I can disguisemy bootloader so I won't get lose my warranty. Is this even possible? Please help!!

Probably not
Why not use the lock command from the RevOne thread
Idk if that'll make the boatloader look like stock, and will that work with my moonshine boot?

IIRC your bootloader will say **LOCKED** not **RELOCKED**
I would imagine it would work but....

Can we post here all the updates about S-OFF ?

S-Off sounds rather dangerous. Doesn't that mean that it's possible to (accidentally) flash unsigned radios permanently bricking one's device?

It can be dangerous if people don't read or do research before flashing anything.
Hah, yeah. It's not like you go and flash a radio some random guy put together

Yes but it becomes extremely important to match md5 hashes before you attempt to flash radios and hboots. One wrong move and it's Perma brick no fixing it.

Just because there's no need it can be useful to flash an older RUU to go back to stock and then use OTAs to get up to date

Making the hboot flag read "eat sh!+" instead of "unlocked" is enough reason for me.
My ONLY need for S-off is to flash my AT&T One to the Google edition ONE TIME and let Google take care of my OS updates directly.

Gunny, have you tried out any of the AOSP ROMs? I'm sure you have, but if that's what you're looking for you can already have it. This community is almost always faster at getting updates out than Google, even on Nexus devices. I have a feeling that this phone will be something of a red-headed step child to the Nexus family because of the special hardware/software considerations(i.e. the Camera[reported to take abysmal pictures on AOSP ROMs, so must be something soft/hardware combination HTC is pulling out], Beats audio chip, etc.).

Are you exchanging with HTC or with your carrier? If with your carrier, it's highly unlikely they will check that as most reps don't know anything about bootloaders or what they even mean. Unless you're very, very unlucky...
If exchanging through HTC, you're gonna roll the dice. If they determine that it's a hardware failure in no way related to anything you've done to the phone, then they will replace free of charge. If they don't make that determination, they'll still replace but they will charge you for the new parts(camera + new locked motherboard). At least, that's been their M.O in my experience going back to at least the Nexus One.
Thanks for an insightful reply. I bought it from tmobile over the phone..and plan to take it for a store exchange on June 5

As another tip, make sure to turn on Fast Boot under Settings > Power. This will make it more "difficult" for the rep to check since you can't boot into the bootloader or into recovery while it's checkboxed. Also, it's the default option. Just make sure the obvious things are gone: stock ROM, no SU, etc.

Uh huh.. I'm no noob and I want S-Off for LOCKED so that I can claim hardware failures like the power button, NFC not working etc etc. Where I'm from, an unlocked bootloader is an instant reject no matter what the damage is.
I have a question about S-Off, I guess the Moonshine S-Off specifically. I want to know whether if I install it successfully, can it possibly hinder FUTURE flashes? Like will it possibly be incompatible with newer ROMs or something, or is it more like, once installed, that's it, you're good forever, compatibility isn't an issue? I've never done S-Off so it's a little confusing for me.
Thanks,
Roy

It does actually clear up a few things for me... Looks like it doesn't have much to do with the ROMs because like he said, you can have S-Off on any ROM rooted or not, makes no difference... I think I have that right anyway? I'm just wondering if the S-Off method is something that is going to get updated or if that's it, it's a final hack? Any ideas?
Thanks for answering, btw. Also, stop watching me. I see your van. Stop it.

I think you're right about s-off on any rom & I don't see s-off hack being updated at all. Take a look at this guy's Web site about doing s-off and rooting. He makes it so easy. http://qbking77.com/
Edit: FYI, I'm not planning on rooting or even going s-off for now. My One is almost a month old and I'm still being impressed by this phone.
And I'm a ROM flashing junkie. I had 5 different ROM nandroid backed up on my sd card of my HTC Inspire.

Yea, not sure about that. It should matter. They all should root the same. I believe the main variant would be relating to being 4G or 4G LTE. http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.ie/2013/03/htc-one-gsm-or-lte.html?m=1

mmmm well I'm definitely LTE enabled... Okay I found a rogers backup for the right firmware anyway, so I'll be able to restore the right firmware before using the moonshine process. The guy in the video uses revone but the thread sort of points towards more problems so it's a bit worrisome. I wonder why there are two S-Offs anyway.

Yeah... The real thing that worries me though is the message that it can't be compatible with all custom ROMs.

Say again? The S-Off method works for all devices as it is not HBOOT dependant. Moonshine is as it replaces the HBOOT, while revone just cracks open your current HBOOT and messes with it to get S-Off. Neither will restrict you to any custom ROMs.

Damn well that's good news to me. I meant the message you get with the moonshine distiller, it says "moonshine can't be compatible with all custom ROMs". But that's awesome. Is one of the two methods somehow better? I appreciate your answer by the way, thanks a lot.
Ever since I've had this phone I've been experiencing the error in the title above. I've rooted, tried freezing apps I think might be the problem, and just tonight I unlocked the bootloader, which wipes everything, and was hoping the error would go away. It only happens the first time upon boot. I hit either Wait or OK and it goes away until next boot.
Not a big deal, but curious what's causing it. Just wondering if anyone has this issue.
This is the 16gb Prime version, rooted, debloated, unlocked bootloader.

I thought about that too, but I've tried two different carriers.. T-Mo, and Cricket. Both do it, regardless if one is in one slot or both are in either.
Like I said, it only does it after the first reboot, then I never see it again.

My LG G4 does this sometimes. Just click wait to avoid dropping a system process. It probably represents a random error during boot, but it never seemed to hurt anything enough to justify a full investigation.

My HTC 10 just gave me this system stopped responding error right after rebooting - Now I'm beginning to think it's just a new "feature" in Marshmallow. When I have some extra time, I'd like to see if I can figure out what does this - more for the sake of learning than anything else.
After unlocking the bootloader, every time the phone starts I get a warning message for about 5 seconds and then it continues to boot normally. Any way to get rid of this message?

I don't even pay attention to it anymore. There is much more to worry about when it's fully booted. Hahahaha.
I know with other manufactures (Motorola), there were typically ways you could flash a LOGO file to replace the message, but I'm not sure if Pixel files systems are structured the same way.
